He will be paired up with Anisha Ambrose in this flick. The gorgeous diva was recently seen in Sundeep Kishan’s Run. Having acted in Alias Janaki, she has been quite choosy about her films. As for Raj Tarun, he is fast graduating to the next level. In Uyyala Jampala, Cinema Choopistha Maava, Kumari 21F & Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu, he got either a debutante or a fledgling actress to play the heroine. Even though Anisha is no star heroine, she is the 1st of Raj Tarun’s heroine to have a glamorous image, discounting of course Sonarika of Speedunnodu fame, as Eedo Rakam – Aado Rakam is a solo hero’s film.

A Notable Getup Change For Ajith In Thala 57

Director Siva will team up for the 3rd time with Thala Ajith to direct the star’s 57th film which is expected to go on the floors in Jun, 2016. Siva’s 1st ever film with Ajith was Veeram that released in Jan, 2014. In that film the filmmaker gave a complete makeover for Ajith as a village man wearing a white shirt & veshti throughout the film. In a number of films preceding Veeram, Thala was sporting hi – fi urban costumes & coolers. In last year’s blockbuster Vedalam also Ajith was posing as a lower middle class taxi driver and a local don which was completely different from his previous films.

However in Thala 57 it will be Siva’s turn to showcase Ajith’s uber cool style in urban outfits. As the story of the film reportedly takes place in foreign countries Thala Ajith is expected to roll back to his Billa 2 & Arrambam kind of looks in this film.

In his career spanning decades, the master filmmaker will be shooting in Kashmir again after the 1992 blockbuster Roja which revolved around the Kashmir border terrorism. Karthi reportedly plays an air pilot while Sai Pallavi of Premam fame plays a doctor in this yet to be titled film. Allah Rakha Rahman will be scoring the music while Ravivarman will handle the cinematography for this much expected film.

4 Actresses With Bava & Bavamaridi

In the past, 3 actresses were being paired up with Allu Arjun & Ram Charan, the order sometimes gets reversed, in the same year. It all began with Kajal Aggarwal who acted with Ram Charan & Allu Arjun in Magadheera & Arya 2 respectively, in the same year (2009).

Amala Paul Did Much The Same In 2013

Months after being paired up with Cherry in the film Naayak, Amala Paul was cast opposite Bunny in Iddarammayilatho. In 2014, Shruti Haasan repeated this feat by doing a film each with Cherry & Bunny – Yevadu & Race Gurrram, respectively. It’s Rakul Preet Singh’s turn in 2016 to do the same with the two mega heroes. Months after Sarrainodu, her film with Ram Charan, the as yet untitled remake of Thani Oruvan, will be released in Aug, 2016.

After Kalyani, Nithya, It’s Miya

Is it because Malayalam actresses are especially talented that our sensible directors are increasingly preferring them? Nandini Reddy recently averred that Malayalam actresses, in general, act really well. While it was Nithya Menon in Ala Modalaindi, it was Malavika Nair in Kalyana Vaibhogame. Much like Nandini, Kranti Madhav too seems to be thinking on similar lines. If he cast Kalyani in his debut film Onamalu, it was Nithya Menon in Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. For his 3rd film, which has Sunil playing the male lead, he has cast a Malayalam heroine, yet again. It’s Miya George.
Looks like Mollywood actresses are going to be the next big thing in Tollywood, especially in roles that are performance-oriented.

Pawan Gets It Done As planned

For the last few months, the team of Sardaar Gabbar Singh have been doing a back -breaking work to complete the film on schedule. Just in the last 2 months of the talkie part or so, about 70% of the film was shot. All the dubbing and most pending works but for the editing of 2 songs was scheduled to be completed soon. And the same has been wrapped up. The producers are planning to send the film for Censor procedures soon. Come 8th Apr, 2016, the film will hit the screens in a grand way

March 31, 2016 by Nasheman

caste

Ghaziabad: A minor Dalit girl who set herself on fire after being raped in Ghaziabad is battling for life with 50 percent burns in a hospital here.

Police said Babloo Yadav, an MBA student here, barged into the victim’s house on Wednesday when she was alone and raped her. His accomplice, Rencho Yadav, stood guard outside.

The victim’s brother who returned home then tried the catch the two but they escaped after threatening him with a pistol. Her parents also reached the house and identified the two.

In the meantime, the girl bolted herself inside the house and set herself on fire by pouring kerosene over her clothes.

The parents broke open the door and rushed her to a hospital, from where she was taken to the government-run MMG Hospital where doctors said her condition was critical.

Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil said one of the two culprits had been arrested and a hunt was on for the other.

“I have asked the inspector to refer the victim to Delhi since her condition is grave and the family is not in a position to take her to Delhi,” Patil said.

Teesta Setalvad, CPM MPs denied entry into Hyderabad varsity

March 31, 2016 by Nasheman

Teesta Setalvad

Hyderabad: Civil rights activist Teesta Setalvad and two Communist Party of India-Marxist MPs were Thursday not allowed to enter University of Hyderabad, evoking protest from students.

The university security personnel stopped Teesta and MPs from Kerala, T. Rajesh and P.Sampath, at the main gate.

They were invited by the students’ groups to address a public meeting as part of the ongoing agitation against last week’s police crackdown and the demand to remove P. Appa Rao as vice chancellor.

Teesta and the two Lok Sabha members lodged strong protest over the denial of entry. They condemned the curbs imposed by the university on entry of political leaders, activists and media into the campus.

The students, who were waiting from on the campus, also rushed to the main gate and raised slogans against the university authorities.

Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, an umbrella grouping of various students’ groups, has condemned the university’s action and called it an attempt to stifle the movement for justice to Rohith Vemula, a Dalit research scholar who committed suicide in January.

The unrest on the campus began on January 17 after Rohith, one of the five Dalit students suspended for allegedly attacking a leader of ABVP, committed suicide. This triggered a massive protest by students, who demanded action against vice chancellor and central minister Bandaru Dattaetrya who were named in First Information Report.

Appa Rao, who went on leave on January 24, resumed charge last week, triggering huge protest. The students ransacked the vice chancellor’s lodge on March 22 and in the subsequent police crackdown 25 students and two faculty members were arrested and jailed.

They were all released on bail on March 29.

PM Modi arrives in US to attend Nuclear Security Summit

March 31, 2016 by Nasheman

Modi-Britain

Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here early today to attend the two-day Nuclear Security Summit where world leaders from over 50 countries are expected to share their assessment of the threat from nuclear weapons and materials.

During his two-day stay in Washington, Modi is scheduled to interact with a number of world leaders including the host President Barack Obama.

Attending the Nuclear Security Summit for the first time, Modi is expected to lay out his vision of securing nuclear weapons.

This is Modi’s third visit to the US and second to Washington since becoming Prime Minister in 2014.

In September 2014, Modi visited US and had a meeting with Obama at the White House. He made his second trip to the US a year later which took him to New York and Silicon Valley.

While the details of his schedule in Washington have not been released yet, the Prime Minister is expected to hold a series of meetings throughout the day, which range from bilaterals with heads of state to community leaders, to scientists and top executives from the corporate world.

Modi is scheduled to hold a meeting with John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand later today and meet with scientists from Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO).

Even as he has no public engagement with the Indian American community, which has been a trademark of his overseas trips, a large number of Indian Americans from in and around Washington said they would be standing outside his hotel, despite tight security, to get a glimpse of Modi.

The official summit engagement of the Prime Minister would begin in the evening when he would drive down to the White House to attend a dinner hosted by Obama in honour of the world leaders attending the fourth Nuclear Security Summit.

No Modi-Obama bilateral meeting has been announced yet from either side, but the two leaders are expected to get multiple opportunities for interaction and talks over the next two days.

“The summit would deliberate on the crucial issue of threat to nuclear security caused by nuclear terrorism. Leaders would discuss ways and measure through which to strengthen the global nuclear security architecture, especially to ensure that non-state actors do not get access to nuclear material,” Modi had said in a statement before leaving on the current three-nation tour of Belgium, the US and Saudi Arabia.

Joint Secretary (Disarmament & International Security Affairs) Amandeep Singh Gill said during the summit India’s written National Progress Report would be circulated at the summit.

The Prime Minister would intervene in this discussion on national actions to underline some of the important measures we have taken to strengthen nuclear security.

“India expects that the summit would contribute further to raising high level awareness of the threat of nuclear terrorism and the need to strengthen international cooperation against terrorists and nuclear traffickers,” Gill said.

“We also expect that the summit would help bolster legal, institutional and enforcement measures to strengthen the security of nuclear material, radioactive sources, associated facilities and technologies,” he said.

Syria war: UN urges leaders to accept more refugees

March 30, 2016 by Nasheman

Ban Ki-moon says governments must “act with solidarity” to alleviate Syria refugee crisis and “counter fear-mongering”.

Many refugees have died while fleeing to European countries on rickety boats [AP]

by Al Jazeera

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called on governments around the world to allow in more Syrian refugees and “counter fear-mongering” about them.

At a conference in Geneva on Wednesday, Ban urged countries to “act with solidarity, in the name of our shared humanity, by pledging new and additional pathways for the admission of Syrian refugees”.

He said they can do so through “resettlement or humanitarian admission, family reunions, as well as labour or study opportunities”.

The UN refugee agency UNHCR convened a meeting of more than 90 countries at the Swiss UN seat in Geneva, aiming to win new pledges for resettlement and family reunification programmes, as well as study visas.

“We are here to address the biggest refugee and displacement crisis of our time,” Ban said.

These programmes are separate from usual asylum procedures. They are aimed especially at helping vulnerable groups, including women, children and people with medical needs.

Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq have been hosting most of the five million refugees of Syria’s conflict, which has put serious strains on state budgets and public services.

“Communities hosting refugees in neighbouring countries are exhausted,” Ban said.

Furthermore, tens of thousands of Syrian refugees are stranded in European countries without basic rights or the proper documentation to lead a normal life.

Ban also emphasised that countries should not demonise refugees, but should see the opportunities that the people could bring to their new host countries.

“Today, they are refugees. Tomorrow, they can be students and professors, scientists and researchers, workers and care-givers,” he said.

Earlier this year, an international donor conference in London pledged more than $11bn to assist Syrian refugees and internally displaced people in 2016-2020, the bulk of which came from the US and EU member-states.

And wealthy countries have pledged 178,000 of the 480,000 resettlement spots needed for Syrians, according to UN estimates.

Audiences love to listen to foot tapping Punjabi songs and they become an instant hit: Varinder Vaz

March 30, 2016 by Shaheen Raaj

Varinder Vizz

Varinder Vizz, the latest musical sensation in B – Town happens to be a well – known singer, composer and performer too. And now he is all set to add one more illustrious musical feather to his musical cap by donning the grease paint and facing the arc lights for Shubir Mukherjee’s movie namely Club Dancer and that too with Hollywood actress Judi Shekoni of Twilight Saga fame.

Give us an insight into your pre-filmic background?

Basically speaking I am a hard core Punjabi lad, hailing from the capital city, Delhi. Besides right since I was that high I was totally inclined towards music, so to pick up the finer musical nuances I took training under my musical Guru named Pandit Manmohan Sharma for almost one and a half decade.

How did you land up in the musical firmament of Bollywood?

After the journey of the musical training ended I too headed straight for Bollywood and then of course after the initial phase I happened to meet Shubir Mukherjee of Film Magic Productions Pvt Ltd who was producing a film named Club Dancer. And after having a musical sitting with him he was so impressed that he instantly made me an offer to compose two songs, sung by me. And thus I landed my 1st ever Bollywood musical break in Club Dancer.

Which are the two songs that you have composed for Club Dancer?

The two songs that I have not only composed but also sang and performed are Tanatan and Ek ek sip karke pee gaya Patiala peg and both the songs have become an instant chart-bursting hit on the social networking sites and even garnered a million hits on Youtube since its release. It has also become a rage amongst the music lovers.

You have earlier performed in music videos and now you are all set to make your Bollywood debut as an actor. How come?

Actually speaking I love performing on my own songs which I have already done in my two music video albums Desi No 1 and Midnight. When Shubir Mukherjee saw my albums he asked me to perform on the Patiala song too along with Hollywood actress Judi Shekoni of Twilight Saga fame.

Who are your favourite inspirational singers?

My personal choice in this regard is first and foremost Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Hansraj Hans, Lata Mangeshkar and above all Mohammed Rafi. And amongst the music composers Allah Rakha Rahman is my all time favourite.

What do you think about today’s musical scenario?

The musical scenario has a constantly changing phase. The audiences loved the earlier melodious style songs because they were all based on pure classical ragas which were enjoyable, but today’s songs are mostly based on western beats and that too sometimes they appear quite noisy.

But then why are the so-called Punjabi songs, which are mostly used in Hindi films, such a big hit nowadays?

It is so because the audiences love to listen to such foot-tapping songs and they become an instant hit.

What do you love most composing music, singing songs composed by you or performing on your own songs?

Frankly speaking composing music is my first love. And now that I am here in Bollywood I would also love to sing songs composed by other music composers. And if the filmmaker wants me to sing songs composed by me and also perform on them, just as I have done in Club Dancer, then I don’t mind it at all.
