Nasheman News : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday hailed the Indian Air Force after it carried out air strikes across the Line of Control in Pakistan’s Balakot.
“IAF also means India’s Amazing Fighters. Jai Hind,” Banerjee tweeted.
Reports claimed that the IAF strike was carried out by a group of Mirage 2000 fighters at around 3.30 a.m. in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
The strike in Balakot was significant as the location was beyond Pakistan-administered Kashmir, indicating it was not merely an LoC violation but a punitive action inside Pakistani territory.
It follows a suicide bombing attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama on February 14 that killed 40 troopers.

Karnataka SIT to probe Kalburgi murder case
Nasheman News :The Supreme Court on Tuesday entrusted the Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT) – which is investigating the Gauri Lankesh murder case – to probe into the murder of rationalist M. M. Kalburgi.
The bench, headed by Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman, said the probe would be monitored by the Dharwad bench of Karnataka High Court.
Kalburgi’s widow Uma Mallinath Devi had moved the top court in 2017, seeking an SIT probe into his murder.
The top court had on November 26, 2018, pulled up the Karnataka Police for not taking steps to unearth the murder of Kalburgi outside his home in Dharwad on August 30, 2015.
“What have you done so far? You are just fooling around,” the court had said, taking a dim view of the investigation by Karnataka Police.

Government calls all-party meeting
Nasheman News : The government has called an all-party meeting on Tuesday to brief opposition leaders about the IAF attack on Tuesday on the biggest training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which had claimed responsibility for the Pulwama terror attack.
The meeting has been called by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and will be held at 5 p.m.
India has struck JeM’s biggest training camp, large number of terrorists, jihadis eliminated: Govt
In a 21-minute offensive, 12 Mirage 2000 jets carried out the strike at around 3.30 am and dropped 1000 Kg bombs on terror camps across LOC, completely destroying it.
Hours after the pre-dawn offensive on Pakistan-based terror camps, the Government said on Tuesday said that “India has struck the biggest training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot eliminating a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commander and jihadis in the operation”.
The camp in Balakot was led by Maulana Yusuf Azhar alias Ustad Ghauri, brother-in-law of JeM Chief Masood Azhar.
Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale addressing the media said India had received credible information on JeM attempting other attacks in the country and therefore a pre-emptive strike had become necessary.
“Credible intelligence was received that Jaish-e-Mohammed was attempting another suicide terror attack in various parts of the country and fidayeen jihadis were being trained for this purpose,” he said.
He said the non-military pre-emptive action was targeted specifically at the JeM camp adding that the selection of the target was also conditioned to avoid civilian casualties.
“India has given proof many times seeking action against Jaish-e-Mohammed and others at terror camps so big, that they can train hundreds of jihadis and terrorists at any given time. But due to Pakistan’s inaction, this step was necessary and had to be taken,” he said.
“India is firmly and resolutely committed to taking all measures to fight the menace of terrorism. This non-military pre-emptive action was targeted specifically at JeM camp. The selection of the target was also conditioned by our desire to avoid civilian casualties,” Gokhale added.
In a 21-minute offensive, 12 Mirage 2000 jets carried out the strike at around 3.30 am and dropped 1000 Kg bombs on terror camps across LOC, completely destroying it.
The IAF jets struck terror camps and launch pads across the LoC in Balakot at around 3.45 am, Muzaffarabad at around 3.48 am and Chakoti at around 3.58 am.
One of the targets destroyed by Indian fighter jets was reportedly in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area. Strikes in the region were based on locations provided by on-ground intelligence sources.
According to a report by media, the IAF strike has led to 200-300 casualties on the Pakistani side.
Following the attack, the Indian Air Force has put on high alert across all air defence systems along the international border and LoC to respond to any possible action by the Pakistan Air Force.
The development comes amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan following the 14 February suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir in which 44 jawans were killed. Pakistan-based and supported terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for the attack.

IAS official files police complaint against suspended AAP MLA
Nasheman News : Hours after suspended AAP MLA Kapil Mishra stirred a controversy over his poem hitting out at so-called enemies of the nation residing in the country on social media, an official of the Department of Telecommunications lodged a formal complaint with the Delhi Police seeking an FIR against the legislator.
Ashish Joshi, an Uttarakhand-based IAS officer on his “official letter” sent a police complaint against Mishra to the Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik alleging that “it is brought to your notice that one Kapil Mishra has circulated a highly incendiary video, provoking people to attack some citizens”.
“I saw the video on twitter. It has been uploaded on YouTube. The content of the video is self-explanatory and violates Indian Penal Code and IT Act,” Joshi said in his letter to the Delhi Police.
“The letter is issued in public interest,” Joshi added.
Soon after the letter was shared by Joshi on Twitter, many people retweeted it. Senior journalist Barkha Dutt, senior Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan, former AAP leader Ashutosh also retweeted demanding action against Mishra.
The suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA then also took to twitter and said that he would lodge a complaint against Joshi, Bhushan, Kavita Krishnan and Ashutosh for circulating fake news against him.
“This man Ashish Joshi – misusing letterhead and playing agenda. This is not part of his job. Tomorrow I shall lodge a complaint for misusing his official position. I shall also lodge a complaint againsty Bhushan, Krishnan, Ashutosh for spreading false information about me.”
“Another lie about me is also being spread that government has lodged a complaint against me. Ashish Joshi has miused his official letterhead. He is the same person who lodged a complaint against BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra. His only work is to promote the agenda of Left parties,” Mishra said attaching few snapshots of the tweets shared by Joshi in the past.
The entire controversy erupted after Mishra on Monday morning recited and posted a video of a poem on Twitter hitting out at the so-called enemies of the nation within the country.
“It’s Now or Never. Pull them out on streets, as the traitors are hiding inside our house. Kapil Mishra exposing Terrorism supporters in India,” he said in his tweet.
Reacting sharply to the video of Mishra, Shehla Rashid, Barkha Dutt, Bhushan, Ashutosh, Krishnan took to twitter to lodge a protest.
“Dear IPS Madhur Vermaji, this person who has a huge following and is an MLA from Delhi, is giving an open, emotive call to people to enter our homes, drag us to the streets and lynch us,” Rashid tweeted.
“What a revolting man. This is direct incitement to violence and lynchijg and merits a jail term and account being scrapped ASAP cc,” Dutt tweeted.
Modi chairs CCS, IAF on high alert
Nasheman News : The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was underway on Tuesday in the wake of reports claimed by Islamabad that Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and returned after dropping a payload in Pakistan.
All the IAF bases were on high alert anticipating a reaction from Pakistan to the strikes carried out by the Indian fighter jets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Balakot early on Tuesday.
Sources said that the IAF bases along the borders and inside are fully geared to deal with any eventuality. Air defence systems were activated to deal with any intruders along the International Border and the LoC.
The airborne radars were keeping a close vigil on the activities inside Pakistan, the sources added.
The CCS meeting was also attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other government officials.
Though the Centre was yet to make an official statement, Minister of State for Agriculture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tweeted that the IAF carried out aerial strikes across the LoC and destroyed terrorist camps.
Shekhawat is the first functionary of the government to confirm from the Indian side that the strikes have taken place.
Some of the prominent veterans, who retired recently, have already hailed the move.
“Air strikes by 12 Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft at terror camps in Balakot this morning. 1,000 kg precision bombs used. Pakistan accepts. See images below,” tweeted retired Lt Gen Satish Dua, who served as chief of the integrated staff to the chairman of the chiefs of staff committee till November 2018.
Former Director General of Military Operations retired Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia said that India demonstrated political and military will by “apparently” employing the air strikes.
He added that there was a need to raise cost for Pakistan and the Pakistan Army to ensure they do not carry out terror attacks against India.
“Picture abhi baaki hai,” he said.
The CCS meeting comes after the Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asif Ghafoor confirmed in a tweet early Tuesday that the IAF planes dropped the payload near Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before leaving in haste as the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) scrambled its war planes.
The alleged incident took place in the Muzaffarabad sector, claimed Radio Pakistan.
Tuesday’s development follows a suicide attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, on February 14 that killed 40 troopers.
The attack was claimed by Pakistan-based militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and prompted a spike in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
