Nasheman News : AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that central Minister Prakash Javadekar’s warning of anarchy if Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn’t retain power reflects the ‘fascist thinking’ of the BJP.
The Hyderabad MP said the country was bigger than any individual. If Modi loses the Lok Sabha elections, there will be anarchy in the ranks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), not in the country.
“This is a classic fascist mindset and thinking. Every fascist thinks that his leader is bigger than the country,” Owaisi told reporters here.
“Even if there are lakhs of Modis, Rahul Gandhis and Owaisis, they are not bigger than the country. The country is bigger than all of us. My identity is because of my country.”
He said since the BJP was set to lose power, it was talking of anarchy. He said the BJP’s defeat would definitely lead to anarchy and chaos in RSS and BJP but the country will continue to function in a democratic manner.
“It is very unfortunate that the BJP does not see chaos and anarchy it created in the economy in the name of demonetization, the chaos in agrarian sector and anarchy and chaos in Kashmir. It is once again showing its fascist identity and thinking,” Owaisi said.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief said the people of the country want a non-BJP, non-Congress government.
Asked if he sees West Bengal Chief Minister as the next Prime Minister, Owaisi said the country had many capable leaders whose thinking was better than that of Modi and Rahul Gandhi.
When asked if he would support Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao as the Prime Ministerial candidate, he said the country would decide its next leader at an appropriate time.
“There are many capable leaders who can lead the country, create a new Bharat and address challenges faced by the poor and farmers. I don’t want to take any name as the country will decide this at an appropriate time,” he added.

‘Mahagatbandhan’ exposes opposition’s fear of BJP: Rajnath
Nasheman News : Asserting that the BJP is going to retain power in 2019, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that the opposition’s attempt to forge a ‘mahagatbandhan’ (grand alliance) is a sign how other parties fear the BJP.
“I think everybody (opposition) is afraid of the fact that the Bharatiya Janata Party is again going to form its government. So they are attempting to forge a ‘mahagatbandhan’. It is the fear of his party’s successes that has made them come together.
“The coming Lok Sabha election is not a challenge for the BJP. We are going to form the next government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People of the country are with us,” Singh said after laying the foundation stone of a Kendriya Vidyalaya at a Central Industrial Security Force camp.
His remarks came in the wake of opposition mega rally organised by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata last week.
The Minister said there had been no allegation of any “serious corruption” in the last four and a half years against the Modi government. The BJP had a strong and popular leader in Modi and the common man had faith in us, he added.
Attacking the Congress, he said: “You know the situation of the past Congress governments (on corruption issue).”
Asked about fugitive jeweller Mehul Choksi surrendering his Indian citizenship in favour of Antigua & Barbuda Isles in the West Indies, the Minister said: “He will be brought to India for sure. No one will be spared.”
Choksi, along with his nephew Nirav Modi, is charged with conniving with bank officials to dupe the Punjab National Bank of around Rs 13,500 crore plus by issuing fake Letters of Undertakings (LoUs) to their group companies through the bank’s flagship Brady House branch in Mumbai.
Amit Shah discharged from AIIMS
Nasheman News : BJP President Amit Shah was on Sunday discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here where he was admitted after contracting swine flu.
“With the grace of god I am fully healthy now and have come home after being discharged from the hospital. I am grateful to all of you for wishing me speedy recovery,” the BJP National President said in a tweet in Hindi.
Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s media cell convenor Anil Baluni had confirmed the news.
“It’s a matter of joy, happiness that our President Amit Shahji has been discharged from AIIMS. He is completely healthy and have reached his residence. Thanks to all the well wishers and party cadres for their wishes,” Baluni tweeted.
Shah, 54, was admitted on Wednesday. He was under the observation of AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria.
Rahul gets relief from Jharkhand HC
Nasheman News : The Jharkhand High Court on Monday ruled that Congress President Rahul Gandhi will not have to appear in person when the case of his “unsavoury” remarks against BJP chief Amit Shah is heard.
A district court here had earlier issued summons to Gandhi following a petition filed by Naveen Kumar Jha, alleging that the Congress leader had made unsavoury remarks against Shah hurting him and denting the party’s image.
The high court has given relief to Gandhi staying his personal appearance in Ranchi, said Rajiv Ranjan, who appeared on behalf of the Congress.
“Rahul Gandhi had said a murderer can become president of BJP but this cannot happen in Congress,” Jha said in his petition to the Ranchi court.
31 stranded Rohingyas: India-Bangladesh to hold meeting
Nasheman News : The border guards of India and Bangladesh are likely to hold a meeting on Monday over the 31 stranded Rohingya Muslims, stuck for the past 2 days at the zero line on Tripura frontier, a BSF official said.
“A meeting between the sector commanders of BSF (Border Security Force) and BGB (Border Guards Bangladesh) is likely to be held tomorrow (Monday) over the 31 Rohingya Muslims,” Deputy Inspector General of BSF Brajesh Kumar told the media late on Sunday.
The BSF has been providing food to the six male, nine women and 16 children on humanitarian ground.
Kumar said that already two meetings were held between the nodal officers of BSF and BGB but the issue remained inconclusive.
According to him, the Rohingyas were now staying behind the India-Bangladesh fencing at Rayermura (under Amtali police station in Sepahijala District), about 20 km south of Agartala.
The Bangladeshi media said that the BGB Commanding Officer, who is the commandant of 25 Battalion of the BGB, has alleged that the BSF have been pushing Rohingyas into Bangladeshi territory.
The BSF on Saturday had strongly refuted “unfounded allegation” claimed by BGB that the BSF have been pushing Rohingyas into Bangladeshi territory.
“On Friday night, BGB’s Lt Col Gomal Kabir informed BSF Commandant Ratnesh Kumar over phone that they have detained the 31 Rohingyas along the International Border. The BGB insisted with the BSF to take them inside the India-Bangladesh Border Fencing,” the BSF release had said.
“BSF commandant firmly denied any such attempt and refuted the allegation as published in Bangladesh media,” the release added.
It also said that during the search of the area and spot verification, there were no signs of any illegal crossing of Rohingyas from the Indian territory to Bangladesh.
Another senior BSF official said that during the past one year, 62 Rohingya Muslims had entered India (Tripura and a few other northeastern states) via Bangladesh in search of jobs and temporary works.
However, they were pushed back following legal and security formalities.
Over 700,000 Rohingyas have fled Myanmar’s Rakhine state since August 2017 after a wave of persecution and violence that the UN described as an attempt at “ethnic cleansing”. Efforts are on to repatriate them.
Tripura shares an 856-km border with Bangladesh, most of which is fenced except a stretch of nearly 20 km.
Ansari Cong nominee for Koppal: ex-CM
Former minister Iqbal Ansari would be the Congress candidate for the Koppal Lok Sabha seat, former chief minister Siddaramaiah announced on Sunday.
The announcment was made by Siddaramaiah during a visit to Ansari’s house at Gangavathi in the district.
The announcement by the chairman of the coalition co-ordination committee has come as a rude shock to the other aspirants, it is said.
Siddaramaiah said injustice was meted out to Ansari during the last Assembly elections. So, he would be given the the ticket this time, the former chief minister said.
Raghavendra Hitnal, the Koppal MLA, former MP K Virupakshappa, Shivaramegowda, former ministers Basavaraj Rayareddi and Shivaraj Tangadagi are the other aspirants for the Congress ticket from the constituency.

Shivakumara Swamiji, 111-Year-Old Siddaganga Seer, Passes Away
Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa and other top leaders cancelled their scheduled programmes and rushed to the Siddaganga Mutt.
Announcing the seer’s demise at Siddaganga, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, flanked by deputy CM G Parmeshwara and Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa, said the Swamiji breathed his last at 11:44am and the last rites would be held on Tuesday at 4:30.
The CM also announced a three-day mourning period. “The state government declares a three-day state mourning and one-day holiday for all schools, colleges and government offices,” Kumaraswamy said.\
The Lingayat seer had been in and out of hospitals for the past two months.
Dr Paramesh Shivana, the head of Siddaganga Hospital where the Swamiji was being treated, informed the media that the seer’s protein levels and blood pressure were found to be low early on Monday.
Kumaraswamy, Parameshwara and Home Minister MB Patil, along with the district administration and others, will be holding a meeting to discuss security arrangements and to check the precautionary measures to be put in place.
Yeddyurappa, Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda and BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje cancelled their scheduled programmes and rushed to the Mutt.
Reports say helipads are being set up around the Mutt and Tumkur industrial area for the arrival of VIPs. Many devotees from different parts of Karnataka have also started arriving at the Mutt, hoping to pay last respects to the Swamiji. Traffic on National Highway-48 towards Tumkuru has been diverted to different routes due to the huge crowds assembling near the Mutt.
The chief pontiff of the Siddaganga Mutt, Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji, was also fondly called Nadedaduva Devaru or ‘the Walking God’ by many. The Lingayat seer also headed the Sree Siddaganga Education Society which runs more than 100 educational institutions across the state.
On his centenary in 2007, the then Karnataka government had conferred the Karnataka Ratna, the highest civilian award in the state, to the seer. In 2015, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan. Kumaraswamy has urged the Centre to confer the prestigious Bharat Ratna on the seer.
CM Kumaraswamy said that he would personally write, as well as meet the PM with this request. “Honours like the Bharat Ratna will have value when it recognises people like Swamiji,” Kumaraswami said on Friday.

Siddaramaiah Calls Another Meeting of Cong MLAs Amid Resort Drama.
Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has called another Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at 11 am even as the party MLAs remain holed up in a Bengaluru resort, fearing poaching attempts by the BJP. All eyes will be on four legislators who had failed to turn up at the last CLP meeting, triggering another round of hide-and-seek in the southern state.
The meeting comes a day after the Congress sent notices to the four ‘rebel’ MLAs, seeking an explanation for their absence from the previous CLP meeting, asking why no action should be taken against them under the anti-defection law.
More recently, MLAs Anand Singh and JN Ganesh were involved in a ‘minor fight’ at the Eagleton resort that highlighted the urgency of the meeting, ANI quoted Congress leader Zameer Ahmed saying.
MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi, B Nagendra, Umesh Jadhav and Mahesh Kumatahalli had skipped the CLP meeting on Friday, triggering speculation that the BJP was attempting to dislodge the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government through another round of ‘Operation Lotus’.
Ahead of Monday’s meeting, Siddaramaiah issued notices to all party MLAs, warning that their absence would be viewed “seriously” and action initiated according to the anti-defection law.
Top Congress sources had said Friday that at least eight party MLAs have “committed” themselves to BJP. The JD(S) and Congress have, however, expressed confidence that the government would
Karnataka CM backs Mamata for PM, says she is simplest of the simple’
arnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee, saying she is a “good administrator” and has all capabilities of leading the country.
Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that people of the country were totally “disappointed” with the administration of Narendra Modi and heaped praise on his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee, saying she is a “good administrator” and has all capabilities of leading the country.
The Janata Dal (Secular) leader, however, maintained that leadership was not the pressing issue at hand and the opposition needs to focus on ways and ideas to win the polls.
In an interview to media, the Karnataka chief minister said, “According to me, deciding on the leadership is not a criterion to win the polls. People of the country are totally disappointed with the administration of Narendra Modi. Several states have their own problems. It is not necessary to select a leader before the elections.
“There are effective leaders, who can move in a big way for the development of the country. They can make headway in areas where the previous governments have failed. But we can sit and select our leader after the elections are over,” he said.
Kumaraswamy, who was part of the Trinamool Congress-led mega opposition rally — United India Rally – held in Kolkata on Saturday, also said that Banerjee has the abilities to run the country.
“She (Mamata) is simplest of the simple and a very good administrator. I believe that Mamata ji has all the capabilities of leading the country. And she has already proved herself by leading West Bengal for so many years.” Drawing parallels with the situation the country in 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi faced revolt from various quarters, Kumaraswamy said, “The present scenario is quite similar to that period. Even the politicians sat together and select their leader. This time, too, I think we will also have no problem in doing that.” The Janata Dal (Secular) leader asserted that the Mahagatbandhan would be “an alternate to the national party”.
“Several states have their own problems. Each of them have regional leaders who are as strong as national party members. And these regional parties will play a crucial role in the elections. This time people are going to bless them.” Talking about the absence of Telangana Chief Minister KCR at the mega rally called by Banerjee, Kumaraswamy said, “I think after the elections everybody will join. Everybody will come together. I am quite hopeful.” Incidentally, KCR had came down to Kolkata to meet Banerjee last month for a discussion on the grand alliance. He, however, stated that his efforts for a non-BJP and non-Congress alliance would continue.
Heaping praises on Banerjee for bringing together opposition leaders on a same platform, the Karnataka CM said, “Mamata ji did a great job in organizing the rally. She had even requested the Left to join her. This shows her generosity in her tactics in fighting the BJP government. She is ready to make compromises to take our fight to the next level.” Setting the tone for the Lok Sabha polls, leaders from 22 opposition parties came together at the mega rally here on Saturday and declared they will put up a united fight to oust the Narendra Modi government.

How is the electoral game shaping up in key states
By Saeed Naqvi
The BJP in Kerala may have boosted its saffron image on the Sabrimala issue but is unlikely to gain much electoral advantage in 2019. That has been the pattern for decades: it has zero conversion rate even though it has a vote share of 10 percent. It would certainly like to weaken, harm, destroy the CPI-M. Towards this end it has to direct its cadres to quietly help the Congress. But in this instance it is not inclined to augment Congress numbers in New Delhi.
K. Karunakaran, as the Kerala Congress maestro, had mastered the art of playing “footsy” under the table with the RSS. Victory margins in Kerala were generally slim. Whenever it suited both the parties, the RSS cadres were injected into the process, thus improving Congress chances. In 1989, the wily, Karunakaran went one better. Holding the BJP with one hand, he gripped the Muslim League?s hand with the other.
Kerala-UP linkages were brought into play even in the aftermath of the “Shilanyas” or the brick laying ceremony in Ayodhya. On November 10, 1989, Rajiv Gandhi was the darling of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) because in violation of the Allahabad High Court order, he allowed the Shilanyas to take place on disputed land, precisely what the VHP demanded. His officials were instructed to put out the story that the brick laying ceremony was done “a good 100 metres from the disputed area”. But the truth was leaked by the VHP, out to prove its muscle.
The VHP, in seventh heaven because of the turn in Ayodhya, paid Rajiv Gandhi back in Kerala by instructing its cadres to help the Congress. But despite all exertions, Rajiv Gandhi, who had won 400 seats in 1984, lost the 1989 elections.
This somewhat extended focus on an election this reporter was witness to may help understand facets of the electoral battle ahead. Note how the Congress mistakes tactics for strategy with unerring frequency.
For Uttar Pradesh 2019, a seat sharing formula had been suggested some months ago. BJP?s stunning victory in the state for Lok Sabha in 2014 had not been with wide margins. Based on this fact a formula was suggested. The Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and the Congress would be given tickets for seats wherever they came second in 2014. By this formula the BSP, SP, Congress and RLD would be entitled to 34, 31, 5 and 2 seats give or take a few. That Congress performance in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh entitles it to more seats in UP is now purely theoretical because the BSP, SP (and possibly RLD) deal has been sealed and delivered. By announcing its intention to contest all 80 seats, the Congress is helping nobody except possibly the BJP.
The Congress cannot have forgotten the panic which gripped it when all assessments indicated the party might be a cypher in UP in 2014. Week after week, Sonia Gandhi?s side-kick in Rae Bareli and Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharma, twiddled his thumbs waiting in vain for Priyanka Gandhi?s promised visitations. To look after the two family fiefdoms was the therapy assigned to her. But she would not show up. Only the fear of her mother and brother losing in their citadels spurred her to action. In a week of effective campaigning, beaming an Indira Gandhi like charisma, she did help keep her family in Parliament.
That was just four and a half years ago. To play spoilsport in UP now will diminish the party. There is so much else to play for. Look, how ham handedly the BJP has played its hand on the Citizen?s Bill in Assam. Here is a chance for Rahul Gandhi to try recover its turf in the North East. It is generally believed that the Congress lost the brilliant organization man, Himanta Biswa Sarma, to the BJP by treating him high handedly when Sarma came to consult the Congress President. Apparently, the duration of the meeting was spent with Rahul feeding biscuits to his dog.
There is a profound lesson for the BJP and an opportunity for the Congress opening up in the North East. There will be far reaching consequences for the BJP in the lesson it is about to learn. There are limits to Hindu consolidation that can be affected by targeting minorities. The party?’s hands were more or less forced when Prime Minister V.P. Singh dusted up the Mandal committee report providing reservation to other Backward Castes (OBCs). That was the context of L.K. Advani?s Rath Yatra and the movement to build the Ram Temple. The rest is familiar history.
The RSS and its creatures like the BJP have never quite accepted the centuries old caste pyramid being exposed to western notions of democracy, upward mobility, social justice. There is a huge, visceral resistance to ideas of equality in a system which, in this life, is inherently unequal, where upward mobility is only possible in a series of lives hereafter. Communalism, therefore, does not only feed on imagined or real historical wrongs alone. It is, in effect, also a strategy to keep the caste pyramid from keeling over.
In Assam and the North East, the faultline is not caste but Bengalis versus Assamese and plainsmen versus the tribes. The situation is custom made for constructive intervention by the Congress.
In West Bengal the Congress presents a confused picture. A small section is willing to go along with Mamata Banerjee. Of the 44 Congress MLAs, eight have crossed over to Mamata?s Trinamool Congress. At her rally in Kolkata, Mamata pointedly invited Sonia Gandhi, ignoring Rahul Gandhi. The upshot is that the Congress will send a senior leader to the rally. In other words the party will remain on talking terms with Mamata without letting her dictate the terms of endearment. But if the Congress is on talking terms with Mamata so far, CPI-M Secretary General Sitaram Yechury’?s insistence to hold the Congress hand in Kolkata must await clarity. Also, the Congress is fighting the CPI-M tooth and nail in Kerala. Should that also not require some clarity?
