The BJP MLA slammed people who complain about intolerance in India and said that he will bomb such people himself.

Days after veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s comment on intolerance in India erupted into a full-blown controversy, a BJP MLA from Khatauli has said people who feel threatened and unsafe in India should be bombed.

BJP MLA Vikram Saini said, “My personal view is that those who say they feel unsafe and threatened in India should be bombed. Give me a ministry and I will bomb all such people; not even one will be spared.”

The BJP MLA, without naming Shah, slammed people who complain about intolerance in India and said that he will bomb such people himself.

Last month, Shah was embroiled in a controversy after he expressed concern over safety of citizens in the country. He also said that he fears for his children in the “India of today” following a brutal incident of mob violence in Bulandshahr.

Shah’s comments received sharp criticism on social media platforms; prominent leaders and personalities also slammed the actor for his comments on mob violence in India.

Many including actor Anupam Kher and Baba Ramdev were critical of Shah’s comments. The Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Senam went on to the extent of booking flight tickets to Pakistan for the 68-year-old actor.

The controversy turned uglier after Pakistan Prime Minister cited Shah’s comments to take a jibe at the Indian government over intolerance against minorities in the country. “Will show Modi government how to treat minorities,” said Khan.

Shah was one of the first ones to slam Imran Khan for trying to spark a debate over his comments. “These matters don’t concern you. Look at your own house,” Shah said.

SC to hear contempt plea against Sabarimala tantri for closing temple for purification

Nasheman News: The Supreme Court will hear on January 22 a contempt plea against the Sabarimala temple tantri for shutting the sanctum for purification after two women belonging to the previously prohibited age group entered the temple on January 2.

Declining the plea for an early hearing of the latest contempt plea, the bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said: “We have kept the date as January 22. We have arranged our schedules for that. Will hear then.”

The application in the already pending contempt petition by activist A.V. Varsha was mentioned by lawyer P.V. Dinesh.

The Sabarimala temple was shut on January 2 after two women — Bindu and Kanaka Durga — from the hitherto banned age group prayed there and was reopened an hour later after the priests performed “purification rituals”.

In line with its traditions, the women and girls in the age group of 10 to 50 are barred from praying at the Sabarimala temple.

This prohibition was struck down by the Supreme Court on September 28, 2018, opening the gates of temple to women of all age groups.

The Supreme Court order opened the gates of the Sabarimala temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, to women and girls in the 10-50 age group, holding that the exclusion based on “menstrual status is a form of untouchability which is an anathema to constitutional values.”

“The social exclusion of women, based on menstrual status, is a form of untouchability which is an anathema to constitutional values. Notions of “purity and pollution”, which stigmatize individuals, have no place in a constitutional order”, Justice Dhananjay Y. Chandrachud had said in his separate but concurring judgment.

The Supreme Court had on November 13 decided to go for open court hearing on January 22 of the nearly 50 petitions seeking a recall of its order permitting women of all age groups to pray at the Kerala temple.

The court will hear the review petitions along with three more petitions.

The prayers in three petitions effectively seek to uphold the practice of prohibiting the entry of girls and women in the age group of 10 to 50 years in the Sabarimala temple.

Nasheman News : Cheteshwar Pujara missed a double ton as India posted a healthy 491/6 at tea on second day of the fourth test against Australia here on Friday.

Pujara (193) could only manage to add 12 runs to his individual score in the second session before he was caught and bowled by spinner Nathan Lyon.

Rishabh Pant (88) and Ravindra Jadeja (25) were at the crease when umpires called for the tea break.

Starting the session with overnight score of 389/5, Pujara was the only batsman to depart. He played 373 balls and slammed 22 boundaries.

Earlier in the first session, India was at 389/5 at lunch.

Pujara (181 runs in 332 balls) and Pant (27) were at the crease when umpires called for the break.

Starting the day with overnight score of 303/4, Pujara and Hanuma Vihari (42) could only manage to add 26 runs to the total as Vihari was dismissed when the scoreboard was reading 329. 

Vihari played 96 balls before he got dismissed by spinner Nathan Lyon in 102nd over.

The fall of wicket brought in Pant. Pujara and Pant then played throughout the first session, making sure they don’t lose their wickets.

In the process, the duo played some beautifully crafted shots.

Rahul must visit ‘Firoze Jahangir Khan’s kabra’ at Prayagraj and also Kumbh: UP Deputy CM

Nasheman News :  Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma on Thursday sent out an invite to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj and advised him to visit his grandfather ‘Firoze Jahangir Khan’s kabra (grave)’ located there as well as offer prayers.

Sharma, who was here to invite Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, his Cabinet colleagues as well as Congress Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani, said he would invite Rahul Gandhi at the Kumbh Mela and offer prayers as per his ‘Hindu Dattatrey Gotra’.

Seeking to indicate that Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather Firoze Gandhi was a Muslim (and not a Parsee) who married Indira Gandhi, the Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister called him “Firoze Jahangir Khan”.

“His (Firoze Gandhi’s) grave is in Prayagraj and Rahul ji must visit it since he has never been there, and light a candle there.”

“I urge Rahul Gandhi to visit Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela and also perform puja at his grandfather’s grave. Rahul Gandhi is of the Dattatreya gotra, so I think he should visit the Kumbh Mela,” said Sharma.

After naming the old city of Allahabad as Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh government is organising Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj from January 15. The government wants it to be a big success and for that, the deputy chief ministers are sent across the country for the event’s publicity.

“We want everyone to visit Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela this year and that’s why we are extending this invite to all in the government and everybody,” said Sharma.

Nasheman News : Senior advocate H.S. Phoolka on Thursday submitted his resignation from the Aam Aadmi Party to party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Phoolka, representing the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, thanked Kejriwal for giving him an opportunity to “serve the party”.

“I have resigned from AAP and handed over the resignation to Kejriwal ji today. Though he asked me not to resign, I insisted,” he said.

However, the former Punjab MLA did not reveal the reason for his resignation.

“Will be briefing media tomorrow… to explain the reason of leaving AAP and my further plans,” he added.

Phoolka, who joined AAP in 2014 and was voted to Punjab Assembly from Dakha, had resigned from the Assembly as an MLA in October last year.

He had announced that he would resign from the Assembly if the Congress government in Punjab led by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh did not take action against those behind the incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and the police firing in October 2015 on those protesting against the sacrilege incidents.

Phoolka has demanded the government should register cases against former Chief Minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal, SAD president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and former director general of police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini.

Earlier, in July 2017, Phoolka resigned from the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly to continue to fight cases of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims in courts after the Delhi Bar Council disallowed him from contesting the cases of riot victims, saying he held an “office of profit” as Leader of Opposition.

He also contested the 2014 Lok Sabha from Ludhiana from AAP, but lost to the Congress candidate.


Kader Khan was laid to rest on Wednesday: Son Sarfaraz

Nasheman News : Amid all sorts of misinformation about Kader Khan’s funeral being tossed in sections of the media, his son Sarfaraz on Thursday clarified that Khan was laid to rest on Wednesday.


“My father was laid to rest on Wednesday at the Meadowvale Cemetery in Mississauga (Canada). It was attended by us — his family of three sons, relatives and fans who got to know of his passing,” said Sarfaraz.

Was it difficult for the family to lay their distinguished patriarch to rest so far away from home?

“Canada was my father’s home during his last years. All of us have moved to Canada,” said Sarfaraz who once tried making a career in Bollywood. He played Salman Khan’s friend in Tere Naam.

“Whatever I did as an actor was fulfilling while it lasted. But it’s behind me. I am very happy with what I’m doing now in Canada,” signed off Sarfaraz.

SC to decide on course of Ayodhya hearing on Jan 10

Nasheman News : The Supreme Court on Friday said the bench that will hear a batch of cross petitions challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court judgment on the Ayodhya title suit will decide the future course of the hearing.

Taking up the applications for early hearing, a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjay Krishan Kaul said further orders on the course of the hearing will be passed by the bench which will be constituted on January 10.

The Allahabad High Court had in 2010 trifurcated the disputed site, giving one portion each to Ram Lalla, Nirmohi Akhara and the original Muslim litigant.


Bajrang Dal’s Yogesh Raj, Main Accused, Arrested

Bulandshahr violence: Yogesh Raj is accused of inciting mob violence on December 3 after the discovery of cow carcasses from a forest.

The man accused of inciting mob violence in Bulandshahr in which a police officer was attacked with an axe and shot dead has been arrested nearly a month after the incident. Yogesh Raj, a Bajrang Dal activistdubbed “Accused no 1” in the killing of the officer in mob frenzy over alleged cow slaughter, was caught last night.

Yogesh Raj had eluded the police for 30 days and even sent videos from hiding. Reports suggest he was arrested only after the Bajrang Dal, a Hindu rightwing outfit, turned him in. The police claimed in a press release that an informer alerted them to Yogesh Raj’s plan to go to Khurja, about 20 km from Bulandshahr, last night. The police say they laid a trap and caught him near a popular college.

On December 3, Yogesh Raj had filed a police complaint of cow slaughter after five carcasses were found scattered in a forest. He had named seven accused and led a protest. An argument between the protesters and the police escalated and violence erupted. Officer Subodh Kumar Singh was chased, cornered in a field and shot dead by the mob of 400 which allegedly included activists of the Bajrang Dal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and a youth wing member of the ruling BJP.

The UP administration has been accused of inaction in the killing of the policeman but displaying more alacrity in rounding up suspects for cow slaughter. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a security meeting right after the incident, had ordered strict action for cow slaughter but had apparently not discussed the policeman’s killing.

Five Muslim men arrested on the basis of Yogesh Raj’s complaint were held for two weeks and eventually let off for lack of evidence.

After criticism, the police have arrested 30 for the policeman’s murder.

A man arrested on January 1, Kalua, is accused of attacking the inspector with an axe, chopping off a couple of his fingers and then inflicting a head wound.

Prashant Nutt, the man who allegedly shot the officer, was arrested on December 28. He, Kalua and a third man, Johnny, who had snatched the officer’s revolver were identified from a cellphone

An army man, Jitendra Malik, another key accused in the killing, was arrested on December 9 and is currently in judicial custody.

Workers who must be outdoors in below zero weather conditions certainly are at risk of injury or even death. A cold environment forces the body to work harder to maintain its temperature. Cold air, water & snow all draw heat from the body. The most common problems faced in the cold are hypothermia, frostbite & trench foot.”Appropriate preventive measures must be taken to protect those who must be outside.

Here are some tips:- 1.) Plans for work in cold weather. Wearing appropriate clothing & being aware of how your body is reacting to the cold are important to preventing cold stress. Avoiding alcohol, certain medications & smoking can also help minimize the risk.

2.) Protective clothing is the most important way to avoid cold stress. The type of fabric even makes a difference. Cotton loses its insulation value when it becomes wet. Wool, silk & most synthetics, on the other hand, retain their insulation even when wet. Here are some clothing recommendations for working in cold environments:Wear at least 3 layers of clothing. An inner layer of wool, silk or synthetic to wick moisture away from the body. A middle layer of wool or synthetic to provide insulation even when wet. An outer wind & rain protection layer that allows some ventilation to prevent overheating. Layering provides better insulation. Do not wear tight-fitting clothing.Wear a hat or hood to help keep your whole body warmer. Hats reduce the amount of body heat that escapes from your headWear insulated boots or other footwear.Keep extra clothing (including underwear) handy in case you get wet & need to change.Do not underestimate the wetting effects of perspiration. Often, wicking & venting of the body’s sweat & heat are more important than protecting from rain or snow.With proper planning & training, everyone can keep their themselves safe during winter work. 

Shatrughan advises Modi to hold press conferences as his predecessors did

Nasheman News : Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold a press conference as his predecessors have done in the past and take “candid extempore questions”.

“Sir, we all saw your well scripted, choreographed, well researched and rehearsed TV interview on Monday evening. With due respect to the anchor, wonder lady, Smita Prakash, isn’t it high time and the right time to enhance your image as an able and capable leader taking candid extempore questions?” Sinha, who is a vocal critic of the Prime Minister, said in a series of tweets.

Attacking Modi for not taking questions from the media, the BJP MP from Patna Saheb said, “We know you don’t want to face them but at least have the courage to answer questions from the tall statesman Yashwant Sinha and learned journalist Arun Shourie.” 

Hitting out at Modi, he said that though in the interview he looked “calm and composed”, it was not “convincing or at par with his earlier performances”.

Sinha also questioned Modi for not holding a press conference in the last four and half years and said, “In the past all Prime Ministers have had Press conferences but Sir, you haven’t had even one in your tenure of 4.5 years. Why Sir? 

“Let’s have genuine journalists without the ‘Sarkari’ (government) mindset and not your regular ‘Raag Darbari’ (King’s court) clan,” he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader also questioned Modi over the allies leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold in last few months.

“Why are different people leaving us despite ‘Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikas’, ‘Ram Janam Bhoomi’ etc.?” he said, adding, “Let’s come clean in the New Year, being bold, honest and transparent without dramatic effects.”

The veteran actor then said, “As a friend, colleague and brother this food for thought. Accept it, good for you and the nation, but if you reject it then may God Bless us. Elections are around the corner, Sir. Long Live Democracy.”

Meanwhile, Smita Prakash, the journalist who interviewed Modi, replied to Sinha taunting that he was a hero ‘shotgun’ and not a villain like Saamba.

“Sir if the tweet is for Modi be the hero that you used to be and tag him no? Buzdilon ki tarah ek tuch patrakaar ko kyon tag kar rahein hain? Aap Shotgun hain, Saamba nahi (Why are you tagging small journalists like us like a coward? You are shotgun and not a Saamba),” she said.
