Kerala: Two dead 15 injured in massive blast at firecracker warehouse

February 13, 2024 by Nasheman

Two persons died and 15 others, including women and children, sustained injuries in a massive blast at an illegal firecrackers warehouse operated from a residential area at Tripunithura near here on Monday, police said.

While one person succumbed to burn injuries soon after the tragedy, the other man was declared dead at a government medical College here in the evening.

The mishap happened when crackers were brought to be stored at the warehouse for an ongoing festival at a local temple.

The Hill Palace police registered a case against five persons, including three officials of the shrine management, for mishap.

While Sajeesh Kumar, Rajesh and Sathyan, who are the president, secretary and the treasurer of the Puthiyakavu Devi Temple respectively, were arraigned as the prime accused, Adarsh, the firecracker contractor, was listed as the fourth accused in the case. The police have not yet identified the fifth accused.

Multiple sections of the IPC including 307 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) were slapped against the accused, a senior police officer told PTI.

“Four persons have been taken into custody so far. Of them, two are temple officials and the others are employees of the firecracker contractor. Their interrogation is going on,” he said.

As per the police FIR, the firecrackers and the gunpowder were illegally stored in a shed by the contractor as per the instruction of the temple officials.

However, police haven’t yet given any exact reason for the sudden explosion.

The explosion from the crackers and gunpowder killed one person, critically injured at least 16 others and damaged several houses in the vicinity, the FIR further said.

Meanwhile, revenue officials visited the explosion site and houses in the locality to take stock of the loss of property.

Forensic experts also examined the place in search of scientific evidence to ascertain the exact cause of the blast.

Health department sources said the condition of four injured persons, admitted to the Kalamassery Medical College here, is serious.

The first deceased person was identified as Vishnu hailing from Thiruvananthapuram who was suspected to have driven the vehicle which had loaded the firecrackers, authorities said.

The other details of 55-year-old Divakaran, who died in the evening, were not immediately known, they said.

Around 25 houses and some shops in the vicinity were severely damaged, while two vehicles were completely charred due to the explosion.

Though the exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained, fire and rescue personnel who rushed to spot suspect the possible reason to be the simultaneous explosion of a huge cache of firecrackers brought to the warehouse.

Earlier in the day, a senior Fire and Rescue Department official confirmed that it was a massive blast, tremors of which were felt several km away.

He said the tremors were felt even at the local fire station and they proceeded to the spot alarmed by the huge sound of the explosion.

Though the blaze was soon brought under control, it had already caused heavy damage in the vicinity, the officer said.

“We had no clue that a firecracker warehouse was being operated in this thickly populated area. Those who operated it did not seek any permission from us,” the Assistant Station Officer told the media.

Making it clear that the exact cause of the explosion was yet to be known, he said they were relying on the information provided by the local people who said that the mishap happened when firecrackers were unloaded to the warehouse from a vehicle.

“Local people said the warehouse was being operated in the area for some time,” the officer added.

Meanwhile, local residents are yet to recover from the impact of the unexpected massive explosion which shook the area.

The roofs of many two-storey buildings in the locality were found to be severely damaged. While doors and windows of many houses were blown off from the wall by the impact of the explosion, cars parked in porticos were destroyed after bricks and tiles fell upon them.

Even tall trees could be seen completely charred due to the fire with remnants of the blast spotted several metres away.

“We have lost everything…My house is completely damaged. There are no doors and windows…how can we stay here?” a shocked woman in the locality said.

An elderly man was seen sharing the happiness of not losing his life, while a teenaged boy could be seen shivering under the impact of the huge blast.

Authorities said an investigation was launched into the illegal storage of such a huge cache of firecrackers in a thickly populated residential area.

Meanwhile, the State Human Rights Commission registered a case on its own into the firecracker mishap incident based on media reports.

The panel directed the Ernakulam district collector and city police commissioner to probe the incident and submit a report within 15 days.

Alleged Collusion and Corruption at HAL Police Station Shocks Bangalore

Uncovering Scandal:Alleged Collusion and Corruption at HAL Police Station Shocks Bangalore
In a startling revelation,a series of undisclosed incidents at HAL Police Station in Bangalore has come to light, implicating several higher officials in an alleged collaboration to aid an individual in evading legal consequences.
The events transpired on February 4th,2023,when a case was officially registered against multiple individuals, with Mr.Suresh Jain identified as Accused No.1.Jain,along with several others, was promptly arrested and placed in judicial custody.

During Jain’s detention, shocking details emerged of preferential treatment extended to him.
ACP Kishore Bharani allegedly made daily requests for Biryani, and Jain reportedly supplied scotch whiskey for ACP Bharani, who permitted Jain to consume it within the police station.
Additionally,Jain was granted permission to use various types of pan masalas. This unusual treatment, not afforded to ordinary detainees, has raised suspicions of potential monetary benefits being offered from Mr. Suresh Jain.
They had arrested munawar Sabri and others illegally detained them for 8 days without showing arrest, the main accused Salim known as popular Salim who collected 25 lakhs there was strong evidence against him was let off without arresting.

RTI activist Mr subin has put an RTI requesting to show the CCTV footages of HAL police station from February 1st 2023 to February 15 2023, but he got an reply saying CCTV was not working.
Adding to the controversy, documents purportedly seized from Jain’s office were initially reported by the police to be from his Office.

But they mentioned from Jain office in Victoria layout  Jain has no office there, his friend Mr.Javed has an office there.raising concerns of possible fabrication or misinformation surrounding the case.
Three months after these initial incidents, another twist unfolded as Jain filed a PCR against Mr.Binish Thomas and others.
Intriguingly, the individuals named in this complaint had no prior interactions with Jain. The police’s allowance of Jain to file a PCR,despite being the primary accused in ongoing investigations, raises questions about potential collusion with higher officials.

This move is suspected to be an effort to create an illusion of Jain’s innocence and mislead both the court and the ongoing inquiry.
In an attempt to escape the biased inquiry supervised by ACP Kishore Bharani,Mr.Binish Thomas and other victims sought a transfer of the case to the CCB.
However, upon reaching the CCB,another surprising development unfolded, the case file was transferred from the assigned officer to officials believed to be favorable to Jain.
This alleged manipulation was purportedly guided and supervised by a top official in charge of the CCB.During the inquiry, video recordings were selectively conducted in favor of Jain, with pauses strategically inserted when unfavorable aspects arose.

Furthermore,a person accused in the case was purportedly coerced into providing a statement favoring Jain, transforming him into a star witness.
These revelations hint at potential misconduct and collusion between Mr.Suresh Jain and higher-ranking officials, casting serious doubts on the integrity of both the investigation and judicial proceedings.
Authorities now find themselves under intensified scrutiny,as calls for an independent and impartial inquiry gain momentum.

The public eagerly awaits the uncovering of the truth behind this alleged nexus of corruption within the Bangalore law enforcement.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday chargesheeted 12 Bangladeshi nationals in  human trafficking case, involving infiltration and trafficking of foreign nationals into India through  the Indio-Bangladesh border.

SpiceJet plans to lay off 1,000 employees

SpiceJet plans to lay off 1,000 employees

Mumbai: Crisis-hit SpiceJet plans to hand out pink slips to at least 1,000 employees in the coming days as the airline works to significantly reduce costs and streamline operations of its depleted aircraft fleet, officials said on Monday.

Faced with financial woes, legal battles and other headwinds, the no-frills carrier might ask more staff to leave as there is excess manpower now compared to the number of planes in service. A final decision on the quantum of layoffs is expected this week, one of the officials in the know said.

When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said the airline has initiated several measures, including manpower rationalisation, for achieving profitable growth but did not provide any numbers.

The airline has around 9,000 employees and is now looking at reducing the strength by 10-15 per cent, the official said, adding that layoffs are necessary to reduce the overall costs and annual savings could be up to Rs 100 crore.

A reduction of 15 per cent would mean around 1,350 people will lose their jobs.

The second official in the know said that layoffs are expected across departments and the final list is being prepared. People from the management and consultancy are working on chalking out the contours of letting staff leave, and all the departments have been asked to give their inputs, the official added.

There was no official comment from SpiceJet on the proposed job cuts.

The second official explained that the airline has stopped operations on certain RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) routes and at those stations, there is excess manpower, especially staff with lower salaries. Relocating such people will be a challenge, the official noted.

Currently, SpiceJet has a fleet of little over 30 aircraft apart from 10 planes that are on wet lease.

“As part of our turnaround and cost-cutting strategy, following the recent fund infusion, SpiceJet has initiated several measures, including manpower rationalisation, aimed at achieving profitable growth and positioning ourselves to capitalise on the opportunities in the Indian aviation industry.

“Through this initiative alone, we anticipate an annual saving of up to Rs 100 crore,” the airline spokesperson said in a statement.

During a meeting with the airline’s senior officials last month, SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh emphasised the importance of judicious spending and that he will personally oversee all major expenditures. The carrier will prioritise fleet upgrades, enhance on-time performance and cost-cutting measures will be implemented to streamline operations, according to an internal note last month.

SpiceJet, which has undergone multiple ownership changes since inception and is currently helmed by Ajay Singh, is in the process of raising funds from various investors.

On January 26, the carrier announced that it has received Rs 744 crore as the first tranche of the total Rs 2,250 crore proposed to be raised through the issuance of securities on a preferential basis.

There were reports that there has been a delay in raising the requisite funds.

The airline has also availed funds worth around Rs 1,000 crore under the government’s Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) and Singh has committed to infuse Rs 500 crore.

In recent times, SpiceJet also witnessed lessors taking legal recourse to take back their leased aircraft due to non-payment of dues.

India is one of the world’s fastest growing civil aviation markets and the domestic air traffic is on an upward trajectory.

However, SpiceJet has been struggling for sometime now. In 2023, the carrier flew 83.90 lakh passengers and had a domestic market share of 5.5 per cent.

Defending Truth and Justice: High court halts malicious legal maneuvers against Mr .Binish Thomas
The Honorable High Court of Karnataka issued a stay order on a PCR filed by Mr.Lawrence against Mr.Binish Thomas,Syed Munnaver Sabri, and others.
This PCR,purportedly filed to harass the named individuals, led Mr.Binish Thomas to file a civil case against Mr.Lawrence in 2020.

Despite court notices,Mr.Lawrence has refused to acknowledge them and has proceeded to file a PCR against multiple individuals for specific reasons, raising concerns about the filing of baseless cases with the intent to damage Mr.Binish Thomas’s social and political career.
Mr.Binish Thomas has been vocal about China’s so-called “debt diplomacy” in Africa, highlighting how it led to the countries becoming virtual colonies of China due to their inability to repay massive loans.
His insights on this issue, reported by both national and international media, predate his comprehensive articles on the subject.

Additionally, Mr.Thomas wrote about the Hamas attack on Israel, linking it to the disruption of a major project announced by the Israeli Prime Minister at the G20 Summit in India.
He referred to it as the “Largest cooperation project in history,” seen as an alternative to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, stretching from India through the Middle East to Europe.

Shortly after the Hamas attack,US President Joe Biden echoed a similar viewpoint, highlighting the support Hamas receives from Iran, which is backed by China,as evidenced by numerous credible international documents.
Mr.Thomas believes that his outspoken views have made him a target of various groups that have influenced the filing of false cases against him and coerced officers into taking action to undermine him.
He has received anonymous threats demanding he cease writing in favor of Israel or against certain groups.
Typically, the strategy employed by these groups involves filing multiple cases against an individual with the aim of causing significant personal distress.

However, the High Court’s decision to stay the PCR is seen by Mr. Thomas as a triumph of justice, reaffirming his faith in the Indian judiciary as the ultimate refuge for the common man.

Unraveling the Truth: The Complex Case of Deception and Manipulation in Land Dealings

Unraveling the Truth: The Complex Case of Deception and Manipulation in Land Dealings
“A captivating fairy tale,a narrative filled with incredible events, was narrated by a land grabber and a person accused of rape, and it was believed by officials who then took legal action against multiple individuals.
In this explanation,I will discuss a case registered at the HAL police station concerning land dealings. The primary suspect, Mr.Suresh Jain, was extensively investigated by our research team from the beginning of the incident.
We discovered that Jain was the main culprit;all documents seized from Mr.Jain’s office revealed that he had fabricated land details from various websites, generating significant amounts of money with these documents.
He presented them to numerous individuals and secured substantial investments.Ultimately, the police confiscated these documents from his office.

Subsequently,he shifted blame onto Mr. Binish Thomas, despite their involvement in numerous business dealings, including many land sales facilitated by Mr. Thomas for Jain’s company.
Mr. Thomas also resolved several issues for Jain, including a complaint filed against Suresh Jain by his daughter-in-law regarding dowry torture.

Despite the various transactions they had for other businesses, Mr. Suresh Jain manipulated the information and reported the same dealings to the officials.
Jain then resorted to underhanded tactics, such as paying online media to publish videos claiming Mr. Binish Thomas was the main perpetrator, while asserting his own innocence.

Despite his efforts to reach out to many, his reputation as an accused rapist precedes him.
Mr. Binish Thomas, formerly a secretary of the NSUI and the Youth Congress state General secretary,  PCC member, INTUC DISTRICT President, legal and human rights ex president.
Mr.Suresh Jain has attempted to associate with various individuals to defame the Congress party, trying to vindicate himself.

He approached a public figure for a statement regarding the case, but they refused due to his background with the rape case and his maltreatment of his daughter-in-law over dowry issues.
Suresh Jain raped many girls, cases were filed in Vivek nagar police station and later bommananahalli,he keeps them in locked rooms owned by jain’s apartments, all these matters were reported in frontline media’s.
Furthermore,Jain attempted to bribe senior police officers to skew the case in his favor. One senior officer in Karnataka was found to be in collusion with him, which led Mr. Binish Thomas to request the case be transferred to the CCB,where manipulations continued, until finally, the case was moved to the CID.

Always Binish Thomas was the one who requested to transfer the case to CCB because he wanted the truth to come out,but Suresh Jain wants to divert others attention was going behind officials treating them in hotels wanted them to call the investigating officer and asking them to give the report favouring Jain.
Officials should not support or entertain such individuals, and all media should strive to uncover and report the actual events of the incident.

Israeli military says it has rescued two hostages from captivity in Gaza Strip

February 12, 2024 by Nasheman

RAFAH: The Israeli military said it rescued two hostages from captivity in the Gaza Strip early Monday, marking a small but symbolically significant success in its quest to bring home over 100 captives believed to be held by the Hamas militant group.

The two men were rescued from a residential building in the southern border town of Rafah in a raid that also killed at least seven people, according to Palestinian officials. Witnesses reported at least 17 airstrikes, flares and Apache helicopter fire.

The army identified the two rescued hostages as Fernando Simon Marman, 60, and Louis Har, 70, and said both were in good medical condition. It said both men were kidnapped by Hamas militants from Kibbutz Nir Yizhak in the Oct. 7 cross-border attack that started the Israel-Hamas war, now in its fifth month. They are just the second and third hostages to be rescued safely.

Lt. Col. Richard Hecht said the operation was based on “precise intelligence,” and that the site, located on the second floor of a building, had been watched for “some time.” He said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu joined Israel’s military chief and other top officials as the raid unfolded

Hamas militants killed an estimated 1,200 people and kidnapped 250 others in the Oct. 7 raid that triggered the war. An Israeli air and ground offensive has killed over 28,000 Palestinians, according to local health officials.

Over 100 hostages were freed during a weeklong cease-fire in November. Israel says about 100 hostages remain in Hamas captivity, while Hamas is holding the remains of roughly 30 others who were either killed on Oct. 7 or died in captivity.

Israel has made the rescue of all hostages one of the main goals of the war.
