The restoration of road cut portions (with regard to 110 villages in BBMP limits) should be in a systematic way (wherever the works by BWSSB have been completed) and the durability should be ensured, the BBMP Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta instructed the officials.
Addressing a virtual meeting on road maintenance within the BBMP limits,he instructed the officials that the road cut portions should be restored and drainage works should be completed soon.
(Wherever the BWSSB had dug up the road and completed its works regarding the drinking water and UGD with regard to 110 villages).
Any issues related to BWSSB should be escalated to Chief Engineer’s level and it should be bring into the notice of higher level if not solved.
The restoration of road cut portions should be done systematically and speedily before the rainy season begins.Works should be finished without disturbing public, Gaurav Gupta said.
Finish off the restoration of road cut portions within 2 months:
The Chief Commissioner strictly instructed the officials that the complete work of the restoration of road cut portions (of 110 villages in BBMP limits)should be finished within 2 months.
He also said that the daily work details related to restoration of road cut and asphalting should be submitted to BBMP head office.
Officials should ensure ease of vehicular movement by completing the works speedily, he added.
Road infrastructure department:
Road maintenance related to road infrastructure department should be done properly. Executive Engineers should ensure good quality roads by proper inspection, the Chief Commissioner instructed the officials.
Regarding the infrastructure department, among the 139 roads with a total length of 183.38 kms, 72 roads with a length of 84.14 kms have been asphalted.
Asphalt works in 67 roads with a length of 99.24 kms is in progress. The work should be finished soon, he instructed the officials.
Storm Water Drain:
In BBMP limits, regarding storm water drain, 113 km Rajakaluve is being constructed under the Chief Minister’s Nava Nagarotthana scheme.
96 km work (of 113 km) has been completed already. Pending 17 km work should be completed by the end of March, the Chief Commissioner strictly instructed the officials.
Special Commissioner Manoj Jain,Chief Engineer (Road infrastructure) Prahlad and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
