Darshan Puttanaiah,a software professional in the US quit his job and returned to his native country to carry on the mantle of his late father. He made an attempt in vain on a Swaraj India party ticket. In fact the Congress party supported his candidature after failing to grab him to the party fold.Though the Congress never fielded its candidate he failed to register a win.
