As many as 12 policemen from the state conferred union Home Minister special operation medal for their outstanding investigation skill for the year 2021.

While 11 officers are from the Karnataka state,and DIG,Sonia Narang who served the state police and currently in central agency has also been chosen for the award for the outstanding investigation done by Sonia Narang in solving the Pulwama attack case .

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 16 personnel of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been awarded medals this year.And they included senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sonia Narang.

Regarding Sonia Narang an official said,Senior IPS officer,Sonia Narang who took concrete action against the pan-India network of Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP) during her tenure in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also been choosen by Home Ministry.For the Special Operations Medal.

The officer said,Narang,a 2002 batch IPS officer, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services during this year’s Republic Day for successfully resolving the 2019 Pulwama attack.She is presently posted as Additional Director in Enforcement Directorate (ED).”

Recruitment of youths in South India to strengthen the ‘ISIS’ organization,the arrest of Dr Abdur Rehman,Irfan Nasir from MS Ramaiah Hospital DIG Sonia Narang, has played a vital role when the officer was deputed at NIA a joint operation was done by the then ISD,SP, Santhosh Babu along with Sanjayanagar Inspector G.Balaraju who was in ISD during the special operation Assistant Sub-Inspector,Shoukath Ali, head constable,P Somashekar has been awarded the award for their concrete action in nabbing the duo.

Meanwhile, 260 personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have also been awarded medals this year.

ITBP spokesperson Vivek Pandey said, “In recognition of their indomitable courage and devotion to duty, 260 personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were awarded the Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal on National Integration Day,2021.This is for various special operations carried out by the force in Eastern Ladakh.

VIJAYAPURA: At the end of the third round of counting, BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusanur was seen  leading by 4,850 votes in the bypolls of Sindagi assembly on Tuesday morning.

BJP secured 13,081 votes, the Congress managed to get 8,231 votes and JD(S) is still at the distant third position with mere securing 431 votes. Meanwhile, 133 people have preferred None of The Above (NOTA).

The counting kick-started at sharp 8.00 am at Wadeyar Bhavan in Sainik School Bijapur. As per the district administration, “There are 22 rounds and counting is being done in two separate halls with adhering to Covid-19 norms.”

BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusanur and JD(S) candidate Naziya Shakeel Ahmed Angadi have already arrived at the counting center. Apart from this – a huge crowd has also gathered outside the counting centre in Vijayapura.

BENGALURU: Actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s death at 46 due to cardiac arrest has triggered panic among youngsters and even elders, who have been making a beeline for hospitals for cardiac checks.

“At Jayadeva Hospital in Bengaluru alone, we saw 1,500 OPD patients on November 1 till afternoon and in Mysuru there were another 1,000 patients. Normally, we see about 75 cases in an emergency, but on Sunday we saw 550,” said Dr CN Manjunath, director of Jayadeva Hospital.

Doctors across several hospitals agreed that it was not only youngsters, but even the elderly felt they had to go for a quick check-up. Dr Pradeep Kumar D, Senior Consultant – Interventional Cardiology, Aster CMI Hospital, said, “There have been at least a three-fold increase to the emergency room as well as OPD. People are coming with complaints of chest pain, and evaluations, such as ECG, echocardiogram, TMT tests and cardiac enzymes like troponin, are done. Some enquire about coronary CT angiography.”

It was only a knee-jerk reaction for many, while several patients had only psychosomatic symptoms, the doctors said.

“There were many patients who didn’t have any cardiac-related issues, but anyway came with complaints. This is mostly panic that has set in after watching TV continuously on Puneeth’s death and also due to viral messages on WhatsApp asking people not to ignore or neglect such pains,” Dr Manjunath explained.

While most visitors were in their 40s, Dr Abhijit Kulkarni, Cardiologist, Apollo Hospitals, said, “It is not just now. Even after the deaths of Chiranjeevi Sarja and Siddharth Shukla, we saw such a rush. On the night Puneeth died, our emergency was filled with patients coming in with cardiac-related complaints,” he said.

However, Dr Rajpal Singh, Director and Interventional Cardiologist, Fortis Hospitals, said, “Although a declared public holiday, I had a busy, full OPD on Monday with more than half of them being walk-in young patients concerned about their heart condition.”

Doctors said such a panic reaction won’t help. Instead, people should go for a thorough yearly check-up and maintain a healthy heart. One should eat a healthy diet, maintain an ideal body weight, stop smoking and exercise regularly.

“Moderate-intensity exercise, like brisk walking or jogging, for 45 minutes a day at least six days a week is recommended. People doing more rigorous exercises should get themselves evaluated by doctors with an ECG/echo and, if required, a TMT,” said Dr Pradeep said.

The last rites of Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be held on Sunday, October 31, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced. He will be accorded full state honors during the last rites. The actor will be laid to rest beside his parents Dr Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar at Kanteerava Studios.

“Performing last rites after 6pm in that small space is going to be challenging. Considering all factors and discussing with his brothers Raghavendra Rajkumar and Shivrajkumar, we have decided that the last rites will be performed tomorrow (Sunday),” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Earlier this morning the Chief Minister and Governor Thawarchand Gehlot paid their final tributes.

The police on Saturday had made arrangements at the stadium in anticipation of a traffic jam with tens of thousands of fans still making their way to pay their final respects, with parking available at the St Joseph’s ground on Vittal Mallya Road and the YMCA ground on Nrupatunga Road.

Public can pay tribute to the late actor until Sunday morning at Kanteerava staidum where his mortal remains are at present.

The actor’s last rites will be performed on Sunday in presence of close family members and friends.

Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s daughter Dhruti has arrived in Bengaluru today to attend her father’s funeral. As per reports, she landed at Bengaluru International Airport at 5 pm on Saturday. She flew in from the US, via Delhi.

Dhruti will attend her father’s cremation which is scheduled to be held on Sunday.Puneeth Rajkumar will be cremated with full state honours.

As per the latest inputs,Puneeth Rajkumar’s body will be moved in the early morning before 5am from Kanteerava Stadium to Kanteerava Studio where the final rites will take place.

The route to be followed is: Kanteerava Stadium – Corporation – Mysore Bank – Chalukya Circle – Windsor Manor – Cauvery Junctiön -Sadashivanagar Bashyam circle,Sanky Lake.Malleshwaram 18th cross,Yeshwanthpur,RMC Yard,Goraguntepalya, APMC Yard, Kanteerva studio.

Tight security arrangements has been made in and around kanteerva stadium with 6000 policemen deployed to monitor security arrangements.

Security stepped up in and around the city and patrolling stepped up at the sensitive areas .. jurisdiction police have rounded up mischief mongers.

The stadium was barricades to allow people to come from entry level to pay last respects.

Next level of security arrangements will be decided based on the family members decision on the last rites, a senior police officer said.

Over 50 platoons of reserve police force including KSRP CAR and RAF have been deployed.

Security also stepped up at the Rajkumar burial site.

Since the barricades seating arrangements and pendal was assigned to tent house, in kumbalgodu trucks carrying furniture was stuck in the traffic on mysore road due to traffic chose.

The police had to escort the trucks to kanteerva stadium. A police officer added.

Each division of the city has been assigned to a senior officer of the rank of DCP to monitor law and order.

Since yesterday over 500 persons have been detained on suspecting as they might indulge in trouble making.

1) Vehicles from Mysore Road towards Tumkur Road at the junction of Nice Road, Nayandahalli, Nagarabhavi and Sumanahalli.

2) Vehicles moving from Tumkur Road to Bangalore City, and from Tumkur Road to Mysore Road at CMTI Junction.

3) Vehicles heading towards the tomb of Prince Kumar on the Jalahalli Cross side,Near TVS Cross and Sonal Garments.

4) Vehicles heading towards the tomb of the princely state from Mahalakshmi Embassy are shifted to the Krishnananda Nagar junction.

Puneeth Rajkumar died on October 29 in Bengaluru following a cardiac arrest at the age of 46.

New Delhi: Paying tributes to noted Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality.

Puneeth Rajkumar, 46, died in Bengaluru on Friday following a heart attack.

Modi tweeted, “A cruel twist of fate has snatched away from us a prolific and talented actor, Puneeth Rajkumar. This was no age to go. The coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

A 43 year old car driver was stabbed to death on Hosakerehalli NICE road junction on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as,chandrashekhar was returning home when armed gang stabbed with dagger and kater crushed him with a boulder to make sure he is dead.

The police suspect financial dispute could be the reason and efforts are on to track down the assailants.

Chandrashekhar was flower vendor who due to loss in business during lockdown took up cab driving and moved to RR nagar recently.

Passers by who noticed Chandrashekhar lying in pool of blood informed police.

The Byatarayanapura police have taken up a case and are investigating.

A 29-year-old gym trainier ended his life by suicide at the house in RR Nagar on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Karthik B, a resident of Marappa Layout and was working in a private fitness centre and also running a provision store.

Senior officer told media persons,the incident took place on Saturday night and came to light on Sunday morning when his mother Jayamma found him hanging to the ceiling of his room and alerted the family.Mahesh brother of the victim called the police control room to inform about the incident.

The RR Nagar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem.No suicide note was found and preliminary investigations revealed that Karthik was depressed with the recent breakup and sharing his feelings with his friends.This could be the reason behind his extreme step ,the police said .

Based on a complaint by Mahesh,a case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigations are on.

NIA officials on Saturday arrested Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood,33 from Bengaluru linked to ISIS terror outfit case.

NIA had registered a case against the accused , Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood,Zuhab Hameed@ Shakeel Manna,Irfan Nasir & Mohd Shihab for having affiliation with the banned terrorist organisations ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.

NIA had earlier arrested two accused Ahamed Abdul Cader and Irfan Nasir who were charge-sheeted on April 2021.

Investigation revealed that Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood in association with co-accused persons had raised funds,radicalized and recruited gullible Muslim youth of a Quran Circle group and illegally sent them to Syria to join ISIS.

Earlier In 2013,Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood along with his associate had also visited Syria illegally to liaise with Daesh leadership and had offered support from Indian Muslims.Further investigation in the case continues said a NIA official.
