Pothole Rajas is an NGO that ropes in citizens, who on being disappointed by the lackadaisical approach of the civic authorities in mending roads, do the job themselves.

Pothole Rajas is an NGO that ropes in citizens, who on being disappointed by the lackadaisical approach of the civic authorities in mending roads, do the job themselves. “Pothole Rajas and Ranis are enabling citizens and organisations to take ‘law into their own hands’, and repair potholes on the roads. Any citizen can come forward and fill up a pothole,” said Sourabh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of the NGO.
On Sunday 15 volunteers headed to Iblur and fixed potholes from Iblur to HSR Layout BDA complex, covering a stretch of about four km, and fixed 30 potholes in three hours. “On our complaint number we receive about six to ten complaints every day. We figured that a majority of the complaints were from Iblur. We did a survey on the spot and found the stretch was really bad and decided to have it fixed”, added Kumar.
It was further pointed out that Pothole Rajas use eco-friendly methods. “There is no environment pollution caused during the process of manufacturing the raw material. Besides, we use weather-proof pothole fixing solution. The average time taken to fix a pothole is ten minutes and the cost of fixing one pothole of 50 mm depth is Rs 3,500,
A resident from Iblur said, “The road was so bad with potholes everywhere, more like a death trap. We are very happy that the team came and fixed the pothole here.” So far, the team has covered around 6,000 potholes in various cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Amritsar.

Rao said,as there were rampant mobile theft cases were reported in the CBD areas and mainly in the central Division,so a high value meeting was conducted by Addl CP West,Umesh Kumar, with DCP Central,Chethan Singh Rathore with all ACPs and PIs with technical wing staff were present at the meeting after collecting the information about mobile theft cases,DCP Central,Chethan Singh Rathore, formed a special team under the Supervision of,ACP,Cubbon park Sub-Divsion,Pratap Reddy,PIs and other crime staff with technical wing Head Constable,Ranganath swung into action as the head constable Ranganath used to look after about tracking the theft mobiles as during the tracking of the theft mobile the head constable found that mobiles which are being theft in crowded places are being traced in other states and few months back a mobile phone was traced to Hyderabad. After getting information based on the information and vital clues a special team was sent to Hyderabad to keep a close watch on the shops who are involved in selling and purchasing of used mobile phones the team which kept a close watch on the shop in Jagadish Market a team went as a decoy and approached the shop owner in the pretext of selling and purchasing the mobile phones as customers and the shop owner received the mobile phone from the decoy cop and another cop went to purchase the same he sold him for lesser price of the value so based on this the team picked the shop owner identified as Amir Zameer Khan and the team was successful in nabbing this person during interrogation he revealed that he used to receive mobile phones through Courier from Bengaluru and he used to receive it through parcel by courier by a person name Arif Khan and he used to send 20-25 mobile phones in a packet based on this the team has conducted a secret operation to recover stolen mobile phones and nabbing the persons involved in this racket. The team who got to know about the kingpin of the racket after getting information about Arif khan the team had a challenging task to nab him as he is close aide of former cabinet minister who used to take part in every public programmes with him and it was a big challenging task for the team to nab him a 60 member police team surrounded the whole area and then they knocked the doors of Asif khan who is even a realtor and the team secured him and took him to custody and after sustain interrogation by the team based on his statement the team has nabbed another eight persons involved in the racket the team started grilling all the accused and it was they used to operate in the morning and night times and after committing offence they used to handover it to Arif and Asif under whom this gang used to operate and the five persons were given commission based on the quantity, quality and condition of the mobile a detailed investigation by the team has revealed that Arif and Asif are the two kingpin behind this big networking mobile theft racket and after receiving the theft mobiles they used to clear the datas from the mobile phones in Burma Bazar and National Market and after flashing the datas and adding a roadside type charger he used to send it to other states through parcel and most of the theft mobiles was received by Ameer Zameer Khan after receiving it he used to sell it in Hyderabad’s Chor Bazar in lesser price based on mobile phones-21,Sony mobile phones-17,HTC mobile phones-08,1Plus1 mobile phones-08,Lenova mobile phones-22,Motorola mobile phones-42,Redmi mobile phones-29,Honor mobile phones-23,Real me mobile phones-12,LG mobile phones-09,Micromax mobile phones-14,with other companies 72 mobile phones altogether 563 mobile phones has been recovered from these big networking mobile theft gang and he even said,I will conduct an internet meeting regarding the mobile thefts many people take multiple SIM cards this is only increasing crimes we haven’t focused in this but we will start doing it.as chain snatching and mobile snatching crimes has been rampant so I appeal to citizens to take care of their mobile phones by guarding it wire as safety wire as in olden days we used to put it in specks a wire which guards the specks so if it is tagged in mobile phones it will guard or the public should insured their mobile phones while purchasing and the insurance company owner should bring rules that if it has inbuilt GPS tracker then only we will issue insurance for the said device as even the GPS can be dismental but the inbuilt GPS cannot be dismental if their is a inbuilt GPS fixed in the devices so much of theft can come down as we have advanced technology and those mobile phones recovered were sold in reselling shops mobile is no longer an instrument of convenience mobile has now become a weapon also a dangeorous weapon if cops keep control on mobile phone thefts and in future we will have a separate wing set up as M-Crimes like M-Governance which the central government has and our team will collect information from the CID and CBI with cyber experts about the M-Crimes and we are seriously thinking putting rigorous efforts our officers will concentrate and put their minds together on preventing mobile crimes as it is increasing in quarrelling, kidnapping, murder and extra marital relationship and getting fluid but this people have done a wonderful and good job in busting this big networking racket who are even experts in IMEI tampering as alterations a case has been registered in SJ park and Ashoknagar police station and further investigation is on as this is big networking racket and many more receivers are involved we suspect this gang is involved more than 10,000 mobile thefts in last 3 years and finally I appreciate,Addl CP West,Umesh kumar,DCP Central,Chethan Singh Rathore, and his team as ACP Cubbon Park,Pratap Reddy and PIs as,Tanveer,N Jagadish, and Rafiq KM,and their team of 13-PSIs,45-HC/PC,and the whole operation was monitored and supervised by DCP,Central,Chethan Singh Rathore, under his able guidance and directions the team has conduct the investigation the whole investigation was taken by him and Ranganath head constable Bengaluru to get its 53rd Mayor on Tuesday
BJP is trying its best to rope in independents in order to increase its vote share
BENGALURU: After much delay, elections for the posts of Mayor, deputy Mayor and four standing committees — tax and finance, health, accounts and market — will be held on Tuesday. Earlier, the elections were scheduled to be held on September 27 but were postponed because the BBMP council committee took the decision to hold all the elections together — Mayor, Deputy Mayor and 12 standing committees.
But some people approached the High Court, which put the elections of some standing committees on hold. Harsha Gupta, Bengaluru Regional Commissioner, BBMP, said they cannot violate the High Court orders, so the elections will be held on October 1. Elections for the rest will be held once cases are disposed and as per the court directions.
As soon as the dates were finalised, corporators and party heads of BJP, Congress and JD(S) went into their huddle rooms to finalise the candidates. Till late on Monday evening, the party heads were holding meetings to put their best candidate forward for the Mayor’s post. The fate of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be decided by five Lok Sabha members (one Congress and four BJP), nine Rajya Sabha members (six from Congress and two from BJP), 23 MLAs (11 Congress, 11 BJP and one JDS) and 198 councillors (76 Congress, 14 JDS, 101 BJP and seven independent).
According to sources, BJP is trying hard to ensure that the independents join hands with them to increase their vote share and ensure that BJP Mayor holds the seat of power. The BJP is of the opinion that this will only be beneficial as centre, state and the city will all be governed by one party.
Meanwhile, Congress is trying its best to keep the JDS and independents happy so that it can retain its power in the city with a Congress Mayor once again. Congress is looking at this as its only ray of hope to hold power in the city, after facing a defeat in the trust vote.

The protest intensified as more people began to join after rumours spread that the driver of the towing vehicle was drunk.
The group soon swelled, blocking traffic. Some of them even started recording the video of policeman and the driver in the towing vehicle.
Many alleged towing vehicle drivers were merciless when it came to picking vehicles on roads and forcing them to pay hefty fines and bribes. You can drink and drive and there is no action against you, the motorists were heard abusing and shouting at the driver.

The incident took place on 21st September morning at Dr.Rajkumar road near ICICI Bank at around 11 am in the morning when a towing vehicle which is also called Tiger which tows away the vehicles parked in wrong parking zone.
The anger mob even damaged the towing vehicle and vandalised or broken the mirror and glass of vehicle too.
Senior officer said,as on 21st September Our ASI,of Rajajinagar Traffic,Gangaiah was on his routine rounds in towing vehicle in the Dr.Rajkumar road near ICICI Bank to tow away the vehicles parked in roadside obstructing the traffic. As Dr. Rajkumar Road under Rajajinagar Traffic Police Station,is a commercial area and densely populated area, with a narrow road, with heavy traffic for 24 hours a day.Due to the traffic congestion on this road there is no parking zone area and it is difficult to allow smooth traffic despite the appointment of two officers and ten staff every day for traffic management duties. As the number of parked vehicles on the side of the road is increasing day by day, towing vehicles are asked to tow away the vehicles parked in roadside and it is getting cleared in this road daily to facilitate smooth traffic for the safety of general public. So as on 21st September the ASI who was on his routine rounds in the Dr.Rajkumar road area noticed vehicles parked on the roadside obstructing traffic. The ASI as per the SOP as Standard operating procedure of towing away the vehicle as per the rules he came announcing in the whole area and asked the vehicle owners remove their vehicle hewhile on his second rounds he noticed that the vehicles were still parked at the same place he then again announced in the mic for three times with vehicle number but there was no response from the owner then the towing guys were asked to tow away the vehicles near ICICI Bank as per procedure they took the photo of the vehciels in the no-parking area as the ASI moved further the owner of the vehicle came running in the midway his Two-wheeler vehicle bearing number KA-02-HA-6664 arrives at the venue and pays fines to his vehicle and after paying the fine he deliberately stops the towing vehicle and indulges in a heat argument with the officer and the towing crew he spreads rumours that the driver of the towing vehicle is drunk and driving on duty and they are just looting us and as he spreads rumours and blocks the towing vehicle the ASI Gangaiah immediately passes the information to the control room about the incident as soon as the information was passed to control room senior officers as DCP Traffic West,Dr.SK Soumyalatha directs ACP Traffic North Mallikarjun and the Rajajinagar traffic inspector,MA Mahesh, and ACP Traffic North to rush to the spot and take the stock of the situation the inspector and other staff rushed to the spot and surrounded the area and covered up their staff and driver of the towing vehicle as the monster identified as T Yeshwanth Rao and Dhananjaya are those who spread rumours against the towing driver that he is drunk and he gathered a huge crowd in Dr.Rajkumar road and Inspector who rushed to spot asked the crowd to clear the area and asked them to come to the police station and clear their doubts about the driver is drunk or not the inspector of Rajajinagar Traffic even requested the crowd by announcing in the Mic to clear the area as it is obstructing traffic for other commuters but the crowd dint hear to inspectors requests and started shouting slogans against traffic cops and swelled in blocking the whole area traffic demanding the driver should be tested on the spot and the anger mob even tried to climb the towing vehicle and pull the driver whom they blamed they even abused the cops with filthy language and used unparamilitary words against their family as the tension was gripped and went out of hands inspector got the Breathalyzer a alcometer machine and subjected the driver to blow in the alcometer the test turned into negative for the first time the anger mob demanded the cops to check again the inspector however checked for four times the percentage came as Zero percentage as the gathered crowd got to know they are fooled by the vehicle owner slowly they started to escape from the spot in the meanwhile the law and order cops of Rajajinagar police station who was at the spot while dispersing the crowd the protesters turned the protest into violent as one of the rogue monster injured the finger of ASI as Assistant Sub-inspector,Shivanna attached to Rajajinagar police station was injured as the anger mob assaulted the ASI who was performing his duty in dispersing the crowd as more than thousand people gathered which resulted in heavy traffic jam for kilometers and the traffic came to stand still on the Dr.Rajkumar road and surrounding areas as the people parked their vehicles blocking the area on the middle of the road and started recording the same and it is alleged that the anger mob even damaged the towing vehicle and vandalised the mirror and glass of towing truck and the mob turned into anger and violent on the driver they even tried to pull him out by climbing on the towing truck they even abused the driver and cops some even seen demanding to show their documents and all then also the cops were very polite and handled the crowd very smoothly but when the test turned into negative and the anger crowed got to know they were fooled by the vehicle owner they started escaping from the spot. After the incident took place Senior Officers as,DCP North,Shashikumar, with DCP Traffic West,Dr.SK soumyalatha visited the spot and took stock of the situation and after collecting the information about the incident they ordered for an enquiry and registered a two FIR against unknown person in the Rajajinagar police station in the cr no,132/2019,U/s,143,146,149, 341,353,427,504 r/w,149 IPC and a special teams were formed to nab the vehicle
