Teaser Of Saregama’s Yoodlee Films Next Is Out Now

The teaser of Kunal Kapoor’s new film – Noblemen is out, and it tackles the extremely pertinent and important issue of bullying in high schools. The film, produced by Yoodlee Films – the film production stable from Saregama India – is directed by Vandana Kataria, and has an ensemble cast of fresh faces, along with Kunal Kapoor. The film is narrated through the tale of the main protagonist, a young 15-year-old boy, Shay, who struggle to come to terms with his adolescent years, and is terrorized by a gang of bullies. The film is set in an all boys’ boarding school, where Shay’s interest in dramatics is encouraged by Murali, (Kunal Kapoor). However what starts off as his desire to be a part in the enactment of the Shakespearean play, The Merchant of Venice, turns into a battle of student hierarchy & egos, unleashing a chain of events that lead to loss of life & innocence. This will be the 3rd film by Saregama’s film production arm, Yoodlee films. Eon Productions & MGMayer Studios Partner With Universal Pictures

EON Productions & Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) have reached an agreement with Universal Pictures to partner on the worldwide release of the 25th James Bond film, it was announced recently by EON Productions’ Michael G. Wilson & Barbara Broccoli, MGM’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kevin Ulrich & President, Motion Picture Group, Jonathan Glickman & Chairman of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley. Daniel Craig will return as 007, the legendary British secret agent & Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle will direct from an original screenplay by Academy Award® nominee John Hodge. Production on Bond 25 is all set to begin on 3rd Dec, 2018. MGM will release the film theatrically in US on 8th Nov, 2019 through its new joint venture for domestic theatrical distribution with Annapurna Pictures & Universal will release internationally commencing with a traditional earlier release in UK on 25th Oct, 2019. Under this arrangement, MGM will retain digital & worldwide television distribution rights. Universal will also handle physical home entertainment distribution.

Film director Santoshkumar Shetty Left For His Heavenly Abode

Santshkumar Shetty, a Kannada film director has recently met with a tragic death early in the morning while trying for a photo shoot of the Yermay falls amidst the dense forests of Belthangadi taluk in South Canara district. He had directed the film Kanasu.

This is the 3rd death due to the heavy downpour in South Canara & Udupi coastal districts recently. It is said that the director had gone to the picturesque spot for a photo shoot along with 3 other members including a lady member of the unit.

As Santoshkumar Shetty was busy shooting the inflow from the falls increased by multiple times and he is said to have slipped and had an accidental fall.
According to an eyewitness

Santoshkumar Shetty was the only person who knew swimming.But he had tied robots to his legs weighing around 7 kgs altogether and when he fell in the falls he couldn’t swim due to the heavy weight on his legs.

The locals also admit that this is the 3rd tragedy in the same spot. One person had died about 4-5 months ago and one more a year back. Many tourists neglect the advice to not venture out into the slippery falls leading to avoidable tragedies.

Rajesh Puri who shot to fame as Lallu a.k.a Lalit Prasad in a drama series titled as Hum Log on Doordarshan in 1984 has featured in other television serials like Yeh Duniya Gazab Ki, Amrapali, Buniyaad, Parvarish et al He has also acted in feature films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Dil et al and has therein equally earned laurels too.

These days Rajesh Puri is seen in a new serial titled Kasam aired on Colors. He is playing the father of the heroine in it. A graduate from National School of Drama, Puri is passionate about theatre and is his first love for this medium. Meanwhile, he is playing memorable roles in Wrong Number and Vindu Dara Singh’s up-coming comedy drama Golmaal – The Play.

There is this humble saying that “old is gold” and Rajesh Puri has truly lived this phrase in true spirits. He lived up to his commitment endangering his life. It thus happened that he is playing the role of Sheeba’s father in Vindu Dara Singh’s play Golmaal – The Play. All the actors were rehearsing for the play. 10-days prior to the premiere show of the play, Wrong Number, Rajesh Puri fell critically ill. On diagnosis it was found that 100% blockage was found in one of his arteries and 95% in the other which flows blood into the brain & heart. The doctors advised him to get admitted in the hospital and to be operated immediately or it may cost his life. In its midst the play was to be staged in Kanpur & Delhi respectively. The tickets for the show were sold and it was publicized heavily too. Rajesh Puri took the requisite medications from his doctor and went to perform at the shows in both the places. After concluding the show in Delhi, he went for a check-up at Gangaram Hospital where even the doctors advised him to get operated as early as possible. He called up his family members who administered all facilities for the operations at Kokilaben Hospital and was brought directly there from the airport. After being operated upon, Puri on the 3rd day who was sent home began rehearsing for the play Golmaal – The Play with his co-actors Vindu Dara Singh, Sheeba, Payal Goga Kapoor, Lakhbir Lahiri, Surleen Kaur & Akashdeep at his residence. The next day the show was staged at Rang Sharda, which turned out to be super hit.

Rajesh Puri says, “For me nothing is bigger than commitment not even life. My absence would have hampered the play & the organisers & producers would have to bear heavy losses. It would have also tarnished my name & fame. As you say, the show must go on…. Like how we think about our profits & losses; likewise, we have to have the same opinion for the others. We actors are here because of the producers & vice versa. Thus you have to think of others. By the grace of God all is well.”

Vidya Balan Joins The Fight Against Child Sexual Abuse As Arpan’s Goodwill Ambassador

Mumbai based leading non-profit organization working on the issue of Child Sexual Abuse has engaged Vidya Balan as their goodwill ambassador. She had played the role of Durga Rani Singh a survivor of child sexual abuse, in the movie Kahaani 2, where she saved another child who was being sexually abused by her uncle. Vidya said “I first connected with Arpan during the filming of Kahaani 2 to understand the issue better and get into the skin of my role. I was amazed by the kind of work Arpan does on the issue especially working with children across age groups and their caregivers to prevent Child Sexual Abuse and heal survivors from the trauma of such an ordeal. On this occasion veteran music director & The Padma Bhushan Award winner Khayyam Saheb & his wife Jagjeet Kaur visited the association’s office to donate a cheque of Rs.1,50,000 to FWICE for the welfare of cine workers. This is 3rd time in a row that they have been donating to the association through their KPJ Charitable Trust. The event was attended by Anup Jalota, Film Studios Setting & Allied Mazdoor Union’s (FSSAMU) General Secretary Gangeshwarlal Shrivastav a.k.a Sanju, Cine & TV Artistes Association’s (CINTAA) General Secretary Sushant Singh etc. B. After going through an extensive development period, actor-filmmaker Aushim Khetarpal, is producing a movie on his life along with a Hollywood production house. It is actually based on his book titled “The Chosen One”. In 1999, Khetarpal a sports promoter through his company, Radiant Sports Management Company too got linked to match fixing but won the case and was given a clean chit from Scotland Yard. Aushim Khetarpal says, “The book was an effort to show my journey, from being a tennis player of the country to sports promoter, filmmaker, producing television shows, spiritual speaker and how it changed my entire course of life in the last span of 19 years. I was running a sports management company which had attained recognition for getting sponsors and then my name was embroiled in a controversy. I want the same to be exhibited on celluloid and release it worldwide to wider audience to know the real aspects. It is titled as Om Allah and will be made in Hindi & English. Vikas Kapoor has written the story & screenplay for the film. The songs of the film have also been recorded in the voices of Asha Bhosle, Humsar Hyaat, Anup Jalota & Alisha Chinoy.”

HARSHVARDHAN KAPOOR GOES SCUBA DIVING FOR BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO!

Harshvardhan Kapoor, who is eagerly awaiting the release of his forthcoming vigilante drama, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, had to learn scuba diving for his character. The talented actor took swimming lessons to prepare for several scenes for the movie. Not just that, Harshvardhan also learnt underwater swimming & scuba diving which was more difficult than the regular one. He informs, “I had to learn the basics of scuba for an underwater sequence in Bhavesh Joshi… It was quite stressful as we didn’t have much time and so I did what I could in the sessions that we had. We also had to shoot the sequences at night time which made it more nerve wracking. Because of my beard, the goggles kept slipping off and water kept entering my nostrils when I was deep underwater. That was scary & dangerous!” he adds. Harshvardhan, who trained for a week, concludes, “I’d definitely like to explore getting underwater again for pleasure & not work, as it’s supposed to be a beautiful experience.”
