Bengaluru: Sahil Suraj Jagtiani, the renowned spiritual composer, singer, guitarist, keyboardist producer & music director launched his own music label ‘SSJ Productions’ today to scale up his work and give meaningful music to the world under the genre of Bhajans, Spiritual Chants, Hindustani Classical, Western Classical, Pop and Rock with many other passionate artists.

Sahil Jagtiani is a senior faculty member with the Art of Living Foundation and an ardent follower of Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, who has been committed to spread message of love and peace through different workshops and contemporary spiritual music across the globe for almost two decades. This led him to have a mass appeal amongst a universal audience, especially the youth.

Under the music label of ‘SSJ Productions’, Sahil Jagtiani is embarking on a new journey and ready to launch 22 music albums into the market for music lovers. In the past, he has released 17 studio albums as a singer / artist and 14 albums as a composer, producer and music director.

About the Album Launch & Concert:

With the launch of a new music label, ‘SSJ Productions’ is bringing together a 6 member band for a one of its kind English folk rock live music concert called ‘Wondernow’ on 3rd of March at Shankara Foundation, Kanakpura Road. The ‘Wondernow’ music concert will be Sahil’s 22nd studio album in his capacity of a lead singer and debut to mainstream English album with engaging unreleased material spanning the last 20 years. ‘Wondernow’ aims to redefine rock music for youth and inspire & sensitize youth towards persisting issues within and around them.

Sahil’s Journey:

Sahil Jagtiani, a graduate of King’s College of London and a well-travelled global spiritual artist is now embarking on a new journey by releasing his first ever English folk rock music album called “Wondernow!” under his own Music Label “SSJ Productions” to scale up his work and give meaningful music to the world. Sahil found his true calling under the guidance of his Gurudev H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji at an early age of 20. He was already dabbling with Music from High school. Not only this Shahrukh Khan had also highly appreciated the film on social media platforms when it was released then.

Indeed Kya Yehi Sach Hai? has proved to be a milestone film of your illustrious career spanning almost 2 decades. What say?

Yes you are right! Indeed Kya Yehi Sach Hai? had really proved to be a milestone film of my career and a very special film of my filmic journey till this date. More especially because Kya Yehi Sach Hai? happens to be the most authentic & hard hitting film about the police department. In fact it had also proved to be a benchmark film on the corruption aspect of the politics, the police & the Government department’s honest & dishonest chaotic state. Which was shown beautifully in the film. Based on the real life account of Y P Singh and his times in the police department and his will to fight the corrupt system at that time. The history seems to repeat itself that after 5 years of release the antagonist shown (based on politician Chhagan Bhujbal) is now arrested on the charges of corruption and how corruption became the major disease which still remains incurable. Of course the film had made a lot of affect at that time. Besides Kya Yehi Sach Hai? was highly appreciated then. But now even after a lapse of 5 years, its release on Youtube Channel has created a great response and has got nearly 2 million hits that too in just 3 months. So I would say that Kya Yehi Sach Hai? is a film that represents and still makes people aware about the demonic impact of the corrupt system rampant everywhere.
Kya Yehi Sach Hai? is based on a novel “Carnage By Angels” written by Y P Singh himself who has also directed the film. Apart from myself Shalini, Raju Mavani et al have also enacted key roles in Kya Yehi Sach Hai?.

Ok now time to tell us which are your forthcoming films?

I have just completed 2 films titled The Last Rave & Delhi 47 Kms. The Last Rave is based on real life incident centering around a rave party which was held in Pune. In this film I have enacted the role of a detective who is honest. He is appointed to end corruption in the department. Flora Saini is opposite me. In Delhi 47 Kms I have enacted the role of a Don and Sanya Singh is opposite me.

It seems that you are also really active in events now.

Yes! I am doing a lot of social events. Recently I did 2 Eye Gazing events. In this 2 unknown persons have to sit & stare in each other’s eyes. The message is don’t judge anybody without knowing the real person. It is very relaxing. After this one would not hesitate to connect with anybody. It is a human connection movement. Eye Gazing started in Australia and now it is being organized globally in India and I am organizing it. It is a good platform to connect with people.

And you have also made a short film. Right?

Right again! I have made a short film titled The Cure based on the theme of blood phobia and it has bee made under my own company named Creative Karma. It is an 18 minute short film in English with international actors acting in it. The film was also appreciated globally & ended up bagging 5 varied international awards in US.

Do you think your filmic journey till this date has been satisfactory? And what do you think on reflecting back on this 2 decades of journey?

I would say that indeed my filmic journey till this date has been very interesting, riveting & fruitful. As I have ended up doing films, plays, TV shows, events, social awareness campaigns et al. I had started my career with Shyam Benegal’s Tv show titled Discovery Of India. Not only this I have also ended up working with the best of directors in the best of films. But I think that I am still a kid and would love to remain like a kid forever.

What change have you noticed in all these years?

Down the years I have noticed that the whole industry has changed. The digital change that has come in the last few years is the future & the largest medium to reach the audiences. Now we can’t deny it.

So what have stored up your histrionics sleeves? And as a parting shot also tell us more about your dream of playing 15 varied roles?

Yeah! I am really keen to enact 15 varied roles in a single film. The Late Sanjeev Kumar happens to be my favorite actor who had enacted 9 roles. Then Kamal Hassan Sir had enacted 10 roles in Dashavataram. I am really looking forward to break these records. Of course I am in search of a good script for one of my forthcoming films in order to fulfill my long cherished dream.

VARUN & ALIA GET COLOURFUL IN ‘BADRI KI DULHANIA’

The title track of director Shashank Khaitan’s BADRI KI DULHANIA is a tribute to Holi. Interestingly, BADRI KI DULHANIA is also the 1st Holi number for the lead actors, Varun Dhawan & Alia Bhatt, though the latter had a montage scene of the festival in producer Karan Johar’s earlier offering, 2 STATES. Composed by Tanishq Bagchi, penned by Shabbir Ahmed & choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the peppy track gives a feel of what the movie is all about. Picturised on a set specially built for the purpose, the song, which was released recently, has the vibe of nautanki in small towns and how people come together to celebrate the festival. Shashank says, “We’ve tried to treat the festival in a novel way – it’s not restricted to using pichkaris & throwing colours. We have used colours as part of choreography, and there is a lot more dancing in our song. While we’ve seen Varun do hardcore commercial stuff, this is the 1st time ever you’ll see Alia do such a dance number. Though she has done “Radha On The Dance Floor” in STUDENT OF THE YEAR, which was a younger & cool number, she has a 90s’ look in BADRI KI DULHANIA.“

“BEHEN HOGI TERI” WILL BE THE 1ST EVER FILM TO SHOOT IN LUCKNOW METRO

Shruti Haasan & Rajkummar Rao who are busy shooting for their upcoming movie BEHEN HOGI TERI will soon be shooting a romantic song in the Lucknow metro. The train which has been making trial runs in the city will be seen on screen this May. Amul Vikas Mohan, one of the producers of the film said, “The story of our film is set in Lucknow so we want to incorporate as many elements of the city as possible in our film. Our film will release in May, 2017 and the Metro will also start in Lucknow this year. So we wanted to be the first ones to capitalize on this and show the Lucknow Metro in a film. The song is about a young urban couple whose romance has just started to bloom. It’s a romantic number composed by Rishi Rich, the England based Indian music composer. The music is very much like Lucknow, a perfect blend of urban & traditional.”BEHEN HOGI TERI is all set to release on 26th May this year. SONU NIGAM HAS BEEN HONORED “HARYANA GAURAV SAMMAN” BY HARYANA GOVERNMENT

Ace singer Sonu Nigam who has ruled the music industry for over 2 decades has recently been conferred “Haryana Gaurav Samman” by the Haryana Government on the occasion of “Pravasi Haryana Divas” held in Gurugram. As a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the Government of Haryana organised “Pravasi Haryana Divas” on 10th & 11th Jan, 2017. The special recognition by the Haryana Government was conferred upon Sonu Nigam for his efforts & achievements in the Arts & Culture sector. Sonu is very humbled at receiving this honor. Everyone knows how he worships his father, he actually insisted his father & chacha, to accompany him to the award function as because of them that he has his roots in Haryana. The interesting part of the occasion was Chief Minister Manohar Lal insisted that Sonu sing for the audiences in the midst of the award function, before he gives the award to him and Sonu went on to oblige them all with his voice. Apart from Sonu Nigam, the evening was attended by Union Ministers, Ministers of Haryana, Senior Bureaucrats etc.

GRAND MUSIC LAUNCH & 1ST LOOK OF MUSLIM HORROR FILM ‘SHEITAAN’

The music of the 1st ever Muslim horror film SHEITAAN was released by the hands of the unit of the film in Mumbai recently. 3 songs of the film which was shot at exotic locales of Kolar (Bangalore) & Meghalaya were shown and everyone appreciated it, also the 1st look made an impact that film has something new to offer the audiences for a change. Writer Faisal Saif said “As earlier many horror films have been made, so we tried to make something different, the story of this film revolves around 2 lovers who besides being Muslims were from 2 different community like Shia & Sunni, how they have to face problems in their life and the horror impact from one of the community to other, and how they struggle to survive is shown in this film”. The film has been produced by Imran Galani & Ali G, directed by Sameer Khan (Erstwhile associate to Madhur Bhandarkar), with music by Sheryaar Tiwana, Yawar Riaz & J. Ali. ANURADHA PAUDWAL TO RECEIVE THE PRESTIGIOUS “PADMASHREE AWARD”

DEEPTI NAVAL DONATES ORIGINAL SCRIPT OF ‘CHETNA’ TO NFAI

On the occasion of its Foundation Day, renowned actress Deepti Naval has handed over the original script of the film CHETNA (1970) directed by B. R. Ishara, starring Shatrughan Sinha, Rehana Sultan & Anil Dhawan to NFAI. Prakash Magdum, Director NFAI averred, “We are grateful to Deepti Naval for providing us the original script for preservation. We appeal to all film lovers to come forward and submit any such rare material so that it can be preserved for future generations”. In another significant acquisition, NFAI has added over 1000 film synopsis & song booklets and rare photographs to its rich collection. National Film Archive of Indian (NFAI), Pune celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day (1st Feb, 2017) with a festival of restored classic films on the coming weekend, that is, 4th Feb, 2017 & 5th Feb, 2017. Films like GULACHA GANPATI (1953), KAGAZ KE PHOOL (1959) & MEGHE DHAKA TARA (1960) will be screened in the NFAI Auditorium across the period of 2 days. The Heritage Walk open to all from 4 pm to 5 pm on 4th Feb, 2017 will allow visitors to tour the facilities of NFAI including the projection room, library, auditorium and the research & documentation section. Film storage vaults at NFAI’s Kothrud premises will also be open for guided tours.

KRIARJ ENTERTAINMENT TEAMS UP WITH JOHN ABRAHAM’S J A ENTERTAINMENT FOR A 3 FILM DEAL

After RUSTOM, Kriarj Entertainment is geared up to create an impact at the Box Office turnstiles with a line of interesting projects in the year 2017. The company which is formed by the youngest producers Prerna Arora & Arjun N. Kapoor is heard to now join hands with John Abraham’s production house J A Entertainment. The 2 production houses have collaborated for a 3 film deal and are looking out to start with one of their films soon. The 2 houses are known to be working for the 1st time and are looking forward for this collaboration. Prerna Arora averred, “We are collaborating with John for the 1st time and are extremely glad to get associated with his production house J A Entertainment. Both the production houses have a common vision of delivering entertaining films for our audiences. We are looking forward to make not just Hindi films but also regional films.
