‘Shunyata’ bags “Best Film” Award

Short film Shunyata directed by Chintan Sarda recently won the “Best Film” award at Dada Saheb Phalke film festival in Delhi. It was a finalist at China’s state sponsored Micro Youth film exhibition and won the grand jury prize at Best of India short film festival in Los Angeles recently. It also had its debut TV broadcast in Russia after its selection in ECHO BRICS. Shunyata is about Madhur played by Jackie Shroff, who leads a life of regret as a hitman in Mumbai. He tries to stop a kid from getting into the world of crime, something no one did for him when he started out. The film is about second chances & redemption. Director & writer Chintan Sarda is developing a web series in expanded universe of Shunyata with Jackie Shroff and is currently looking for production houses & OTT platforms to back the project. Chintan thanked Jackie Shroff for putting his faith behind a debut director and the entire crew & cast of Shunyata, who worked tirelessly without charging a penny and whistling woods international.

Himesh was invited by his friend actor Kunal Thakkur for the launch of his tennis academy held on Sun, which we guessed sparked off his interest in the game. A biopic called Gul Makai is being made by Sanjay Singla & Vijay Jaju on the youngest Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who got shot in her head & neck by talibans for going to school. Amjad Khan is making the biopic on her earlier journey and on those circumstances which made her the inspiration to the whole world. Amjad Khan said, “When she was 11 years old, BBC Urdu approached her to write a blog about the life under talibani torture, and she used Gul Makai, as the pseudonym. Amjad Khan has chosen the life of Malala, as his new subject. He took no time to promise, of donating the 1st ever day’s worldwide collection to Malala fund, the right away. “I opted for FTII & NSD passed out actors for even a minor role, who know how to hold a gun properly. The Cannes Film Festival is about to conclude its journey this year. From the red carpet of Indian Divas to the brilliant Indian films, this year India made a lot of headlines in Cannes Film festival. Amongst Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Manto and other remarkable films Nakkash also made a mark in prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2018.

The Information & Broadcasting ministry (I & B) specially chose Writer-Director Zaigham Imam’s film Nakkash to represent the spirit of communal harmony and the 1st evet look of the film was also unveiled in the India Pavilion, Cannes on 11th May, 2018 with the generosity of I & B Ministry.

Nakkash represents the Secular Indian ideology knitted in story with perfection. Zaigham Imam avers, “’The positive response from Cannes and thought provoking feedbacks from the audiences is a delightful outcome to the hard work I put in making Nakkash”.

Very talented Inaamulhaq, the lead actor of the film was also present there and was overwhelmed with the response and gratified by seeing the result of his diligence.

This gem of a film is the 3rd instalment of Zaigham Imam’s trilogy of stories revolving around the holy city Varanasi, India.

Zaigham’s 1st ever Dozakh: In Search Of Heaven was based on his own critically acclaimed novel with the same name. With the release of “Dozakh” in March 2015, Zaigham’s work got highly acclaimed by critics and won several awards & nominations in more than a few film festivals throughout the world.

The teaser of Kunal Kapoor’s new film – Noblemen is out, and it tackles the extremely pertinent and important issue of bullying in high schools. Eon Productions & MGMayer Studios Partner With Universal Pictures

EON Productions & Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) have reached an agreement with Universal Pictures to partner on the worldwide release of the 25th James Bond film, it was announced recently by EON Productions’ Michael G. Wilson & Barbara Broccoli, MGM’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kevin Ulrich & President, Motion Picture Group, Jonathan Glickman & Chairman of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley. Daniel Craig will return as 007, the legendary British secret agent & Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle will direct from an original screenplay by Academy Award® nominee John Hodge. Production on Bond 25 is all set to begin on 3rd Dec, 2018. MGM will release the film theatrically in US on 8th Nov, 2019 through its new joint venture for domestic theatrical distribution with Annapurna Pictures & Universal will release internationally commencing with a traditional earlier release in UK on 25th Oct, 2019. Under this arrangement, MGM will retain digital & worldwide television distribution rights. Universal will also handle physical home entertainment distribution.

Film director Santoshkumar Shetty Left For His Heavenly Abode

Santshkumar Shetty, a Kannada film director has recently met with a tragic death early in the morning while trying for a photo shoot of the Yermay falls amidst the dense forests of Belthangadi taluk in South Canara district. He had directed the film Kanasu.

This is the 3rd death due to the heavy downpour in South Canara & Udupi coastal districts recently. It is said that the director had gone to the picturesque spot for a photo shoot along with 3 other members including a lady member of the unit.

As Santoshkumar Shetty was busy shooting the inflow from the falls increased by multiple times and he is said to have slipped and had an accidental fall.
According to an eyewitness

Santoshkumar Shetty was the only person who knew swimming.But he had tied robots to his legs weighing around 7 kgs altogether and when he fell in the falls he couldn’t swim due to the heavy weight on his legs.

The locals also admit that this is the 3rd tragedy in the same spot. One person had died about 4-5 months ago and one more a year back. Many tourists neglect the advice to not venture out into the slippery falls leading to avoidable tragedies.

Anjana Singh Turns A Prankster On The Sets Of ‘Munna Mawali’

Anjana Singh, who’s popularly known as Bhojpuri “hot cake” seems to have had a lot of fun while shooting for her upcoming film titled Munna Mawali, along with her co-stars Pramod Premi & Poonam Dubey. The actress even turned a prankster on the sets of the film, and played pranks on Pramod Premi & Poonam Dubey. Owing to her mischievous nature she’s also earned a name amongst her co-stars and hence people around her are pretty fond of her. Munna Mawali is directed by Ravi Sinha with the story by Rakesh Pandey. The film also stars Anjana & Poonam in the lead roles opposite actor Pramod. Munna Mawali has a love triangle playing out between 3 actors. The makers of the film share that so far the shooting experience has been pretty smooth. Pramod Premi has substantial scenes with both Anjana & Poonam. The film has a romantic storyline and Pramod often finds it difficult to make things work smoothly between the actresses. Honouring Commitment Is More Important For Rajesh Puri

Rajesh Puri who shot to fame as Lallu a.k.a Lalit Prasad in a drama series titled as Hum Log on Doordarshan in 1984 has featured in other television serials like Yeh Duniya Gazab Ki, Amrapali, Buniyaad, Parvarish et al He has also acted in feature films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Dil et al and has therein equally earned laurels too.

These days Rajesh Puri is seen in a new serial titled Kasam aired on Colors. He is playing the father of the heroine in it. A graduate from National School of Drama, Puri is passionate about theatre and is his first love for this medium. Meanwhile, he is playing memorable roles in Wrong Number and Vindu Dara Singh’s up-coming comedy drama Golmaal – The Play.

There is this humble saying that “old is gold” and Rajesh Puri has truly lived this phrase in true spirits. He lived up to his commitment endangering his life. It thus happened that he is playing the role of Sheeba’s father in Vindu Dara Singh’s play Golmaal – The Play. All the actors were rehearsing for the play. 10-days prior to the premiere show of the play, Wrong Number, Rajesh Puri fell critically ill. On diagnosis it was found that 100% blockage was found in one of his arteries and 95% in the other which flows blood into the brain & heart. The doctors advised him to get admitted in the hospital and to be operated immediately or it may cost his life. In its midst the play was to be staged in Kanpur & Delhi respectively. The tickets for the show were sold and it was publicized heavily too. Rajesh Puri took the requisite medications from his doctor and went to perform at the shows in both the places. After concluding the show in Delhi, he went for a check-up at Gangaram Hospital where even the doctors advised him to get operated as early as possible. He called up his family members who administered all facilities for the operations at Kokilaben Hospital and was brought directly there from the airport. After being operated upon, Puri on the 3rd day who was sent home began rehearsing for the play Golmaal – The Play with his co-actors Vindu Dara Singh, Sheeba, Payal Goga Kapoor, Lakhbir Lahiri, Surleen Kaur & Akashdeep at his residence. The next day the show was staged at Rang Sharda, which turned out to be super hit.

Sony Entertainment Television to premiere ‘Zindagi Ke Crossroads’

Sony Entertainment Television is all set to launch its latest offering Zindagi Ke Crossroads with actor Ram Kapoor that premieres on 6th Jun, 2018 and will air every Wed, Thurs & Fri @ 8:30 pm on the channel. Prime time television in India will see a first-of-its kind format, which will show relatable life-altering narratives inspired from the drama of life and before a Crossroad decision is taken, it’ll be put forth to the studio audience, which will be a representation of our country in some measure, for deliberation and see what most of us would’ve done. For the viewers, it’ll be a “mirror-of-introspection” and for some an enabler of life in the days to come. Zindagi Ke Crossroads will present a new narrative every episode and the Crossroads faced by the protagonists will be open for discussion to a unique set of studio audiences. Popular television actor Ram Kapoor will be seen as the host of the show who will not just encourage the audience to share their views but will also delve into the “Whys” of their decision making so as to bring alive the melting pot of opinions in the audience for the narratives showcased.
