CBSE Board Exams Begin Next Week

New Delhi:  CBSE conducts the annual board exams for 30,000 subject combinations.

CBSE class 10, class 12 board exams are set to begin on February 15. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the annual theory exams for secondary and senior secondary level students after completing the practical exams. While the class 10 exams will conclude on March 20, the class 12 exams will be held for 45 days and will conclude on March 30.

CBSE conducts the annual board exams for 30,000 subject combinations.

The Board, one of the biggest in the country, has been proactively working to ensure that students and parents do not face any sort of inconvenience.

Regarding rumors and baseless social media messages on board exams, CBSE has warned that mischievous elements, that are spreading wrong information, can face legal actions if any such incident comes to its notice.

To help students deal with exam stress, the Board has started counselling session. This is the 23rd consecutive year, the Board will provide free of cost psychological counselling to students appearing for board exams.

Teachers have also given valuable suggestions to students to cope with exam anxiety.

“To deal with exam stress, students must follow some valuable tips which include allocating time for breaks, having proper diet & sleep, practicing sample papers,” said Alka Kapur, Principal, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi. “One should not compare or assess one’s score or performance with friends,” she added.

Students are ready for the exam, which is due to begin in 11 days.

“The preparations are in full swing and it is obvious that there is nervousness. Though parents are really supportive, the burden of revision and to score well is always there. At the same time I am feeling confident because of the series of exams that were conducted through the year. In the end, it is best to adopt a strategy of studying the whole year and dedicate time everyday to save yourself from the exam pressure,” said a class 10 student from Rohini.

January 2, 2020 by Nasheman

Several new methods will kick in the CBSE board exams from 2020 including two-level maths to a lesser number of questions.

CBSE Mandates 75% Attendance For 10th, 12th Exams

New Delhi:  The CBSE board exams will commence from February 15

Students should have a minimum 75 per cent attendance to be able to appear for the 10th and 12th examinations to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The CBSE in its latest notice has directed all schools to calculate attendance of students who have to appear for class 10 and class 12 board exams this year as on January 1, 2020.

Students whose attendance will be calculated less than 75 per cent will not be allowed to appear for the exams, as per the rule mandated by the CBSE.

The CBSE board exams will commence from February 15 and admit cards will be released only for students who are eligible by all means including that of mandatory attendance. The list of candidates with short attendance will reach regional offices and the final decision will be taken on or before January 7.

If a candidate has a genuine reason behind the shortage of attendance, they will have to submit the supporting documents with the authorities by January 7. As per the circular, no case will be considered post the deadline and all the standard operating procedures for calculation of attendance will have to be followed.

Several new methods will kick in the CBSE board exams from 2020 including two-level maths to a lesser number of questions.

The question paper will also have 33 per cent options and more questions on higher-order thinking skills in comparison to questions based on rote memorisation. Instead of being of 100 marks, the theory exams will be for 80 marks. Internal assessment will amount to 20 marks in total in subjects where there is no practical assessment.

Over 67,000 global students recommended to ‘Study in India’: HRD

July 24, 2019 by Nasheman

While foreign students are applying at Indian institutes, most of the applications are coming from neighbouring countries such as Africa, Indonesia among others

study in india, study abroad, iit admission, nit admission, college admission, du admission, education news,

The Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal in a tweet stated that Over 67000 students from across the world have been recommended for admissions in higher education institutes in India including Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIM), and National Institute of Technology (NITs).

Students who have completed, or are pursuing http://B.Tech  or 5-year dual degree programmes from premier institutions will be offered admissions to PhD programmes in one of IISc/IISERs/IITs. They will perform research in cutting edge science and technology domains.

Study in India is a programme by the Indian government to promote India as a global educational hub and invite foreign students to study in India-based institutes. This year, a total of 807 students applied for admissions to IITs. Of this, only 53 appeared for the exam. Ironically there are 1,100 seats reserved for foreign-nationals across IITs.

In the University of Delhi (DU) as well the number of foreign applicants has increased from last year despite imposing a fee of Rs 1500. Over 6,000 students have registered for admission under foreign quota. The number of applicants is over 2,200 for far, as per the official data. Last year, the number of applications was nearly 2,800 of which only 456 students finally enrolled at the varsity.

While foreign students are applying at Indian institutes, most of the applications are coming from neighbouring countries such as Africa, Indonesia among others. To make Indian universities at par with the globally top-ranking higher education institutes (HEIs), much needs to be done.

Talking to dean, IIT-Madras, Jagdeesh Kumar had said, “Even though the cost of living is comparatively cheaper here in India, many students chose to go to Western countries as the students are unsure about the jobs prospects in India. While many universities in Australia or the US provide jobs or stipend, unfortunately, such an opportunity is not yet explored in India.”
