Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which was investigating the case of the Chemistry paper leak has arrested three people including the personal secretary of State Medical Education Minister on Monday.
Oblaraju, personal secretary to Dr Sharan Prakash Patil is one among the arrested, said a CID official. It is said that Oblaraju received the question paper from insiders and circulated it.
The other two arrested are Manjunath, a Physical Education teacher at Cambridge College, Vijaynagar and an LIC agent and Rudrappa, office manager, PWD, who received the question paper from Oblaraju and circulated/sold to others.
The CID officials have said that Oblaraju played a vital role in leaking the question paper from the PU board. He sold it for a whopping Rs 10 lakh and also leaked the paper on WhatsApp. They added that a huge network consisting of government officials, educational institutions, students and also a few parents were involved in leaking and circulating the Chemistry question papers.
The officials said that educational institutions involved themselves to get good overall results.
