‘Shunyata’ bags “Best Film” Award
Short film Shunyata directed by Chintan Sarda recently won the “Best Film” award at Dada Saheb Phalke film festival in Delhi. It was a finalist at China’s state sponsored Micro Youth film exhibition and won the grand jury prize at Best of India short film festival in Los Angeles recently. It also had its debut TV broadcast in Russia after its selection in ECHO BRICS. Shunyata is about Madhur played by Jackie Shroff, who leads a life of regret as a hitman in Mumbai. He tries to stop a kid from getting into the world of crime, something no one did for him when he started out. The film is about second chances & redemption. Director & writer Chintan Sarda is developing a web series in expanded universe of Shunyata with Jackie Shroff and is currently looking for production houses & OTT platforms to back the project. Chintan thanked Jackie Shroff for putting his faith behind a debut director and the entire crew & cast of Shunyata, who worked tirelessly without charging a penny and whistling woods international.
Himesh Reshammiya To Learn Tennis Next
Besides impressing his fans with his songs as well as acting projects, actor Himesh Reshammiya is already on to his next interest. The actor is keen to learn tennis. Himesh was invited by his friend actor Kunal Thakkur for the launch of his tennis academy held on Sun, which we guessed sparked off his interest in the game. This also happened to be Himesh’s 1st ever appearance after his marriage and he looked cool in a black T-shirt & jeans. The singer-actor was accompanied by ace tennis player Leander Paes at the event. Leander was his usual self and spoke about his daughter Aiyana Paes playing tennis since the age of 4. All this tennis talk seems to have got Himesh who expressed his desire to learn tennis.

The Ghazal Album ‘Bhula Na Dena’ Launched By Talat Aziz
The Anup Jalota-Dr Reema Mehta music album “Bhoola Na Dena” was released by the chief guest the renowned ghazal singer Talat Aziz at The View recently amidst fanfare. The concept, direction as well as cinematography of the music video is by Ashok Mehta. It is a compilation of 6 ghazals with lyrics capturing different moods referring to 6 main themes of life. Music is by Umesh Mishra and the singers of the ghazal are Padmashri Anup jalota & Dr Reema Mehta. Incidentally speaking Dr Reema Mehta is a lady of Indian origin practicing doctor well settled in Australia who has nurtured her passion for Hindi songs and sung with Suresh Wadkar as well as Aaman Trikha.
Payal Ghosh Works On Her Flexibility For Her Next ‘Jai Mata Di’
Surya Namaskars seem to be helping Southern siren Payal Ghosh increase her flexibility for her next, Jai Mata Di. There are many scenes in the film which require Payal to be at her fittest & most pliable self. For the same the actress has upped her Surya Namaskar count to 150. A source close to payal says its always been her favorite workout regime, “Surya Namaskars are a full body work out mantra for payal. She used to do 60-75 surya namaskars 5-6 times a week daily but for this role she has upped it to 150. It’s exhausting but the results are for everyone to see.”

A biopic called Gul Makai is being made by Sanjay Singla & Vijay Jaju on the youngest Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who got shot in her head & neck by talibans for going to school. Amjad Khan is making the biopic on her earlier journey and on those circumstances which made her the inspiration to the whole world. Amjad Khan said, “When she was 11 years old, BBC Urdu approached her to write a blog about the life under talibani torture, and she used Gul Makai, as the pseudonym. Amjad Khan has chosen the life of Malala, as his new subject. He took no time to promise, of donating the 1st ever day’s worldwide collection to Malala fund, the right away. “I opted for FTII & NSD passed out actors for even a minor role, who know how to hold a gun properly. The other well-known thespians are Om Puri, Atul Kurkarni, Divya Dutta, Arif Zakaria, Mukesh Rishi, Abhimanyu Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Sharib Hashmi etc. Child artiste Reem Shaikh is portraying the reel Malala Yousafzai. Amjad Khan even convinced Late Om Puri ji to sing a song for the film. Piyush Mishra also sang a song and Amjad Khan also accompanied him in this particular song as a singer.
