A diploma in Civil engineering graduate student turned bike lifter arrested by Bandepalya police,10 stolen bikes Worth Rs.15 lakhs recovered
The southeast Division police of Bandepalya police have arrested a diploma in civil engineering graduate from Andhra Pradesh who unable to find a job started stealing bikes from in and around his home town to sell it in the city .
Senior officer told media persons,there was a series of bike theft cases reported in Bandepalya police station limits based on which special teams were pressed into action.
The team who were on lookout for bike lifters in the city and one fine day the bike lifter luck ran out for him when alert Bandepalya police based on a tip off raided a place near Kudlu gate and caught him red handed on tuesday while he was trying to sell a stolen bike from Andhra Pradesh.
Based on his confession the police have recovered 10 bikes worth Rs 15 lakh and cracked 10 bike theft cases reported in and around the city .
During investigation it was found that the accused After selling the bikes,he would steal bikes from city and ride it to his home town and sell there to make good money.
We have alerted the Vijayawada and Tirupathi east police about the accused where he reportedly stolen bikes and sold it in the city .
The accused has been taken into custody for further investigations to ascertain his network said a senior officer.
