New Delhi: Banks are aked to use indelible ink, which is used in elections, to prevent multiple exchange of currency notes by unscrupulous elements, according to media reports.
The concept of using indelible ink mark would start from today in major cities as demonetisation drive has entered 7th day.
Economic Affairs Secreatary Shashikanth Das told media that the government has reports on people trying to convert black money into white and have organised groups of people to exchange money.
He sated that to prevent ‘unscrupulous elements are trying to convert black money’ indelible ink would be used.
Shashikanth Das also assured that the government keeping close watch on Jan Dhan accounts; legitimate deposits will not be put to any inconvenience.
