Gorakhpur: A father who lost his 5-year-old child in the Gorakhpur’s Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College tragedy has held the UP government’s health minister, the medical education minister and the principal secretary (health) in Gorakhpur responsible for the death and has filed a police complaint against them.
Rajbar, a resident from Gopalganj in Bihar had admitted his child for treatment on August 10. In a letter he claimed that his child lost his life due to disruption of oxygen supply and blamed health minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Medical Education Minister Ashutoh Tandon and Principal Secretary Health Prashant Trivedi for the same.
He also alleged that post-mortem was not conducted after the child’s death.
The police sources said that the complaint is being examined and FIR has not been lodged yet.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government holds college principal, Rajiv Mishra’s negligence in performing his duty as the main reason for the tragedy.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath has assured to take stringent action against those found guilty. He has also appointed a team of top ministers to ascertain if the deaths were due to lack of oxygen supply.
