Bengaluru, Mar 27 : In all 362 candidates have filed their nomination for the first phase of election slated for April 18 to 14 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka and scrutiny.
The candidates who have filed their nominations included official nominees of Congress-JDS under pre-poll understanding to field candidates jointly, besides BJP and Independents. There are several who have filed their nomination to retain their seats as well as some rebels denied them tickets from their parties. These candidates have filed their nominations as Independents.
Scrutiny of Nomination is in process and rejection, if any, will be be known by today evening.
The battle line will be known on the last date for withdrawal March 29. Polling is slated for April 18.
Notification for second phase of polling for 14 other seats in Karnataka to be held on April 23 will be issued on March 28.
