The Southeast Division police of Electronic city police on Wednesday arrested a 39 year old inter state peddler from Andhra Pradesh red handed and recovered 104 kilograms of Marijuana worth Rs 91.3 lakh.
The accused has been identified as, Kallapatti Nagendra from Nalluru in Andhra Pradesh
Senior officer,told media persons,that a credible information about the huge quantity drugs will be entering to the city from inter-state and the peddler will pass through D Mart in a car.
Based on information Electronic city police inspector informed his seniors as ACP,Pawan,and DCP, Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi about the information the seniors instructed Electronic city police inspector Anil Kumar HD to catch the peddler with all necessary actions.
Based on the senior officers guidance Inspector and his team rushed to the spot and surrounded the area when the car entered near D Mart of Electronic City our Inspector flagged the car and while intercepting the team found huge quantity of drugs in the car based on which the team caught him red handed for the possession of drugs.
For further questioning the team took him to police station for inquiry during investigation the accused confessed the crime.Nagendra told the police that he sourced the drugs from Chintapalli forest area in Vizag and smuggled the drugs in a car into the city.
He told the police that he wanted to sell the drugs during lockdown since he can charge more money and become rich in short time by Charging more money to his clients.
After arresting him the team grilled him and he spilled the beans and based on his statement the team has seized 104kg of Marijuana drugs worth Rs.91.3 lakh from his possession.
The accused has been booked under NDPS act and taken him into custody to verify his peddling network and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant, has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan DCP Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi,ACP Pawan N,PI Anil Kumar HD,PSI,Mallesh Mallayanavar,and crime staff as,Shivchandrappa, Nagesh,Raghu,Nagaraj and Basangouda has been appreciated for nabbing the inter-state drug peddler and recovering 104 kg Marijuana worth Rs.91.3 lakhs from the peddler and for the commendable job done by the team a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
