Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has barred the private schools in the state from selling text, note books, uniforms and other stationary items at their respective school campus in the state. According to a circular from department of public education here on Wednesday also stated that no school in the state can force the parents, students to buy stationary and other items from a shop or a dealer.
The order is applicable for all schools in the state including the students admitted under Right to Education Act section 12 (1) c. The restriction will not apply to the supply of text books from Karnataka Textbook Society. The decision reportedly came to prevent the private schools in Karnataka from collecting additional fee, huge amount for uniform and other items supplied by the respective school managements.
