KBC’s Newest Season Crosses 19.8 Mn Registrations

The fervor & popularity of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), hosted by Big B, can be seen from the number of entries received this year. The whole nation went into a frenzy from the moment the 1st ever announcement was made by Big B himself on micro blogging website. Within minutes of registration lines opening, fans of the show hauled to various platform in anticipation to get a chance to be on the hot seat. With entries crossing 19.8 million, this season broke records of previous ones making it a maximum number of registrations made in the history of Kaun Banega Crorepati. And that’s not all!!! Over 51 lakh entries were received on the last day, making it highest single day registration.

The Return Of Rebel 2 & PK Returns To Sony Max

The airing of The Return Of Rebel 2 across Hindi Movies (Urban + Rural), Hindi Movies (Urban) & Hindi Movies (Rural) & PK along with Son of Satyamurthy in the Hindi Movies (Urban + Rual) & Hindi Movies (Urban) markets saw Sony Max re. – enter the Top 10 channels across genre All India (U + R): 2+ Individuals list for week 24 – (Sat, 10 Jun, 2017 to Fri, 16 Jun, 2017). After the 10th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 10) which commenced in week 14 of 2017, this Sony Pictures Network channel had had a small hiatus from BARC’s lists across genre for 1 week – week 23. Sony Max was placed at 9th rank in the list with 460.016 million weekly impressions in week 24 of 2017.
The Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) list of top 10 channels for week 24 has seen some shakeups & exits vis – à -vis the previous week (week 23). Since the past few weeks 2 Balaji Telefilm’s soaps on competing channels have given each other a tough fight in the ratings battle on Hindi GEC.

Colors To Air Live IIFA Awards On 16th Jul 2017

As the countdown to the biggest celebration of Indian cinema worldwide draws near, the IIFA management revealed that the charismatic duo, Saif Ali Khan & Karan Johar, would host the upcoming NEXA IIFA Awards powered by Vivo at the iconic MetLife Stadium. Bollywood’s youth icon Varun Dhawan is all set to make a debut at IIFA Awards with a stunning performance and will also seen co – hosting a segment of the star – studded awards night. The 18th Edition of IIFA awards will air exclusively live on Colors from New York at 9 am & repeat at 6 pm on 16th July 2017, Sun. Big Magic launched The Sequel Of Hum Panch Phir Se

Big Magic, a variety entertainment channel has added comedy genre & a new flavour to yesteryear’s iconic show named as Hum Paanch Phir Se, starting from 19th Jun, 2017, every Mon to Fri at 7:30 pm on Big Magic. The show is adapted from the original show Hum Paanch, the sequel intents to keep the intrinsic elements of the famous format intact and give a modern day take on the smash sitcom, Hum Paanch Phir Se. It introduces the viewers to the most insane family of five crazy daughters, 2 loving mothers & a middle – class father who is often being distraught because of the shenanigans of his daughters / kids.

Vishkanya Spawns 2 New Tales On &TV & Colors

New content, different styles of story -telling, mythology based programmes & old wine in a new bottle, have all done reasonably well on the Indian television from time to time. Now, Peninsula Pictures, the makers of Vishkanya, is bringing Shree Krishna, albeit with a twist in the original tale & Dev Anand, a detective series.
Peninsula co – founders Nissar Parvez & Alind Srivastava stated that their year – long Paramavtar Shree Krishna, a mythological show, is being aired on &TV from 19th Jun, 2017 & the 26 episodic Dev Anand’ will be aired on Colors in Jul, 2017. They are also working on another show with Star Plus which is reportedly a period drama of a king & his 3 daughters, shooting for which will start soon.

TV9 Marathi Format Has Changed

Umesh Kumawat, who was the senior editor at ABP News, has started his new innings at TV9 Marathi as the managing editor. Umesh Kumat, who has been working for ABP News for 14 years, has earlier done stints with Zee News & Aajtak. Umesh Kumawat stated that they have changed the format of TV9 Marathi & senior journalist Nilesh Khare will now host shows such as Baatmi Maagchi Baatmi & Sadetod With Nikhil Wagle. Nilesh Khare is the TV9 Marathi Executive Editor, host & anchor. TV9 Marathi has also introduced other news formats in prime time slots like Maharashtra Uttar Haway, Aaple Shahar, Divasbharachya Baatmya & Mumbai 24×7. That apart Umesh Kumavat declined to offer comment on the general fall in the news viewership across channels. “No comment” was his crisp reply to a question on the hiring of more people.

Sun TV Network To Provided Ad Solutions By Amagi

Sun TV Network with the reach of more than 95 million households in India is commencing its business association with Amagi Media Labs. Amagi offers geo -targeted advertising solutions in 23 channels across 26 markets in India. Amagi Media Labs is expanding its offerings by adding new HD channels of Sun TV Network Ltd. to its bouquet of channels that are offered targeting advertising solutions. The channels are, Sun TV HD, KTV HD, Sun Music HD, Gemini TV HD, Gemini Movies HD, Gemini Music HD, Udaya TV HD & Surya TV HD to help advertisers reach out to the niche Southern India audience. All HD channels from SUN TV network carry the same content as their SD counterpart. Using Amagi Media Lab’s technology, SUN TV network will monetise HD feed by separating HD feed & SD feed for which Amagi will have exclusive rights to sell.

Movies HD In Star Maa’s Refreshed Identity

Star Maa, the Telugu GEC of Star Network, is rechristening its network channels under the Star Maa umbrella. On 25th Jun, 2017 the brands Maa Music, Maa Gold & Maa Movies were respectively rebranded as Star Maa Music, Star Maa Gold & Star Maa Movies. Apart from the refreshed movies channel, a HD addition is added to the bouquet, Star Maa Movies HD. Each channel is aimed at amplifying the ante but also aims to create emotional connect with its viewers. With the re – branding the channels content offerings will further see a ramp up with bigger & better viewing experiences as a network. All the network channels will showcase & launch an array of new shows & innovative programming with impeccable standards.
