Bengaluru: BBMP on , Wednesday, celebrated the 482nd birth anniversary of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru city. On the account of the occasion , BBMP carried out the “Kempegowda” award function where 100 achievers in different fields who has worked for the development of the city, were honoured, including literate chandrashekar patil, singer manjula gururaj, senior artist chandru, journalist Vijayalakshmi and others. State Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, city Mayor Gangambika Mallikarjuna, deputy Mayor Boregowda and other dignitaries gave away the awards and honoured the achievers. Addressing the gathering the chief minister manifested about the emplacement of statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda at the Bangalore International Airport in order to spread the achievements and contribution of the founder for the city.
