Mangaluru: Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada district, Sonawane Rishikesh on Thursday rubbished the media reports linking the missing man from Uppinangady with terror organizations.
Owner of ‘A to Z’ garage Mohammed Rafiq Khan, a resident of Nekkiladi in Puttur Taluk, who went to get some spare parts of a car to Bengaluru on July 12 had reportedly gone missing. His wife had filed a police complaint in this regard on August 6.
The SP stated that police had carried detailed investigations into the matter and had found Rafiq to be staying in North India. He further added that the police had closed the case after proper investigation.
“Recently reports emerged that Rafiq was a member of a terrorist organization. And these reports were carried by local newspapers, News Channels, and social media platforms. These reports are far from the truth and nothing of this sort was revealed in our investigation” the SP stated.
