Bengaluru: The ten day long monsoon session of Karnataka state assembly will begin from today on June 05. With this new session, a stage has been set for a war of words between the ruling party Congress and BJP led opposition. Current monsoon session is one of the shortest sessions in recent years which called in month advance as the state government is planning to introduce Goods and Service Tax in the state with effect from July 01, 2017.
The session is expected to give its green signal to GST, state budget introduced for the year 2017-18 and other important bills. Recent mysterious death of Karnataka Cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari, alleged corruption scandals by the members of ruling party and others are expected to create heated debate in the session.
