The Housefull movie franchise has always been looked forward too, but the next two instalment namely Housefull 2 & Housefull 3 including the 1st one Housefull has no doubt been lapped up by the masala entertainment oriented masses, yet it has never proved to be a delight for the classy cine goer’s as well as the critics. Yet incidentally speaking. Housefull & Housefull 2 had proved to be a runaway blockbuster hits and Housefull 3 is already on its way to cross the 100 Crore mark. So sorry to say but let the classy cine goer’s & critics turn up their noses at Housefull 3 too, but the masses are all set to lap it up.
The Scripted scenario of Housefull 3 starts off in the plush city of London where a gang of 3 robbers steal diamonds from a museum in broad daylight but get busted by the cops, thus landing up in jail. This is followed by the introduction of the self – confessed “lucky papa” of London, Batook Patel (Boman Irani) and his 3 darling daughters Ganga Patel (Jaqueline Fernandez), Jamuna Patel (Lisa Haydon) & Saraswati Patel (Nargis Fakhri). While Ganga is an MD in psychoanalysis, Jamuna is a wax figure maker & Saraswati is socially connected to a physically challenged society. Despite being the lucky father to 3 beautiful & dutiful grown up daughters, Batook Patel just does not want them to get married, for reasons best known to him. On the other hand, while the 3 daughters behave extremely cultured & civilized before their father, behind his back, they become just the opposite, which means ultra – glam & modern party animals. In other words, Ganga becomes Gracy, Jamuna becomes Jenny and Saraswati becomes Sarah. Besides being ultra – glam, all the 3 also have a boyfriend each in the form of Sandy (Akshay Kumar) a footballer with split personality disorder, rapper Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan) & a car racer Teddy (Riteish Deshmukh). Because of the existing situations & circumstances that prevail in the house, getting married to their respective boyfriends looks like an impossible dream for the 3 girls. Lured by Ganga, Jamuna & Saraswati’s strong financial background, when Sandy, Bunty & Teddy convince the girls to marry them, all the 3 girls reject their proposals citing an astrologer’s prediction. Amidst all this, enters the dreaded Mumbai Don Urja Nagre (Jackie Shroff), who has a secret agenda of his own.
Director duo Sajid – Farhad have wielded the megaphone, apart from scripting it with Rajan Agarwal in lieu with dialogues by K. Subhash, for Housefull 3. And the less said about their writing & directional skills the better. The gags, the situations and even the bland humour has been lifted directly from the social media sites which appears as stale as a week long over kept food. Sajid – Farhad had seriously erred in their debut directorial outing namely Entertainment and in their 2nd directorial offering namely Housefull 3 too, they have erred seriously thereby driving a nail straight in their own directorial coffin. Need I say anything more?
The performances off all the actor’s can be described in just 1 word. Akshay Kumar (Comfortable), Riteish Deshmukh (Enjoyable), Abhishek Bachchan (Decent), Jacqueline Fernandez (Ok), Nargis Fakhri (So – So), Lisa Haydon (Forgettable), Boman Irani (Perfect), Jackie Shroff (Interesting), Chunky Pandey (Funny), Nikitin Dheer (Good), Sameer Kochhar (Unimpressive) & Arav Chowdhary (Promising). That’s it.
Tail Piece: Housefull 3 is strictly recommended for lovers of such over – the -top non – sensical cinema. While the rest of the gentry are humbly requested to stay away for their own good.
