Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who is making waves in Hollywood, will be seen in Malayalam films soon. No, she is not in Malayalam as an actor, but as a producer. Priyanka, the producer of the award winning Marathi movie Ventilator, is remaking the film in Malayalam. The cast has not been finalized yet and a formal announcement is yet to be made. A prominent filmmaker has been penciled in to direct the Malayalam version. Priyanka has roots in Kerala. Her grandmother was a Malayali. When her grand mom died early this year, Priyanka had joined her family for the funeral at Kottayam.
Kamal Haasan Advises To Make Another Sivaji Statue
In the wee hours of Thurs, Government officials removed legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan’s statue from Kamarajar Salai, Marina beach, Chennai and reinstalled it at Adyar Mani Mandapam. Reacting to this move by the Tamil Nadu Government, senior actor Kamal Haasan, who is also a big Sivaji Ganesan admirer tweeted “Sivaji left a strong impression in the hearts of aspiring Tamil actors & fans. Let’s make another statue and protect it forever, my dad Sivaji is above the Government”. But it has to be noted that Tamil Nadu Government removed Sivaji statue only after Madras HC’s order. Honorable High Court said that the structure caused trouble to the transportation and directed the TN Government to remove it from the beach.
Parthiepan Offers A Clarification
Actor – director Parthiepan has clarified about his speech at a recent media interaction of Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam. Answering about the political entry of Rajinikanth & Kamal Haasan, Parthiepan satirically said: “I can ask Kamal Haasan directly regarding his political entry but in Rajinikanth’s case, we have to first ask the God himself and then, the actor”. But Parthiepan’s speech didn’t go down well with Rajinikanth fans. Now Parthiepan has released a press statement saying that he is a huge Kamal Haasan & Rajinikanth fan so if the latter’s fans think that his speech hurt them, it should be hurtful for him first. Parthiepan has also reiterated that despite different ideologies, Rajinikanth always supported him and he even recommended his name to a producer named Babuji. Meanwhile, an online poll says that netizens are supporting Kamal more than Rajinikanth! The recent activities of both these actors hint that they will soon plunge into the political scene. Kamal Haasan has accepted the invitation to attend the platinum jubilee function of DMK party organ Murasoli and he is expected to give a strong political speech while Rajinikanth is likely to be present at the event as an audience. Another buzz is that Rajinikanth is moving towards BJP side in Tamil Nadu, today the party’s Yuva Morcha’s national president Poonam Mahajan met the actor at his residence.
