Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and external affairs minister S M Krishna left the Congress and joined the BJP a year ago. Many political observers opined that the seasoned politician would be given a significant job by the BJP making use of his vast experience.
But the things seem to stand still for one of the tallest political figures in the Indian politics, as the BJP is in mood to give any top post in the party. The BJP too is giving the same treatment to him as the Congress, which he alleged as one of the reasons for his decision to leave the grand old party.
Reports say that S M Krishna is leading a quiet life in his residence in Bengaluru with his books and tennis.
Krishna was last seen with the BJP leaders during ‘Parivarthana Yatre’. As per reports, he is expecting a ticket for his daughter Shambhavi from Maddur constituency in Mandya or Rajarajeshwarinagar in Bengaluru.
The 85-year-old politician has often said that he was not unhappy with the BJP, but he has not answered why he kept himself away from attending the party events, unlike many BJP bigwigs at the national level, especially when the assembly elections are due in a month. Though both the BJP and he has denied reports of being ignored in the party, it is yet to be decided whether the High Command will honour his wish of a ticket to his daughter.
Karnataka assembly polls will be held on May 12 and the results will be out on May 15.
