With less than 48 hours to go for polling in the the Legislative Assembly elections, the Congress has alleged that BJP’s B. Sriramulu bribed a Supreme Court judge with Rs.160 crore in a mining case in 2010 to get a favourable verdict.
The Congress has come up with a fresh allegation against the BJP, with a video clip that alleges that BJP candidate B. Sriramulu had bribed a Supreme Court judge in a mining case in 2010. The video shows Sriramulu in a sting operation, talking about bribing a Supreme Court judge with Rs. 160 crore in order to get a favourable verdict in the case.
BJP President Amit Shah dismissed such claims as false and said that such videos are mostly not true. However, the Congress has demanded a thorough probe into the matter. KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not speaking up on this issue and Amit Shah for trivialising it. Rao alleged that the video was released when the Reddy brothers and Sriramulu did not pay the Rs. 60 crore demanded by the son-in-law of the Judge.
