Movie Review: ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ is a full on paisa vasool entertainment

October 2, 2015 by Shaheen Raaj

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon

Producers: Rao Hasnain, Ganesh Jain & Ratan Jain
Director: Abbas Mustan
Cast: Kapil Sharma, Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Phadnis, Elli Avram, Simran Kaur Mundi, Varun Sharma, Sai Lokur et al
Music: Tanishk Bagchi, Dr Zeus, Javed Mohsin & Amjad – Nadeem

The director duo Abbas – Mustan needs no special introduction in Bollywood firmament. They have made many stars & delivered many hits in their career. And now once again in their latest offering ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ they have gifted a new star in the making namely the stand up comedian Kapil Sharma.

The movie starts off with the definition of ‘shaadi’ and also with the introduction of Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan aka Bholu (Kapil Sharma) in a swanky car. Even as he drives the car, the audiences are driven to a flashback of events that establishes the connection between Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan’s past with his present. If one had to sum up his life, then, the only statement that would do total justice to it is ‘Kar bhala toh ho bura’. Every time Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan lands up helping a girl (unmarried, to be specific) in distress, he lands up marrying that girl! That establishes the fact as to how he gets married to Juhi (Manjari Fadnis), Simran (Simran Kaur Mundi) & Anjali (Sai Lokur). Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan very successfully hides his marriage from all the 3 girls err… wives. And in order to avoid problems, he places them at various locations of Bandra, Borivali & Kandivali. But, upon the ‘expert advice’ of his close friend lawyer Karan (Varun Sharma), Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan buys one flat for each wife in an ironically named building called ‘Cocktail Towers’. To all his wives, he explains his super busy schedule stating that he has 3 different ‘offices’ to be taken care of. He even names his different offices (read ‘wives’) on his mobile phone as ‘Head Office’, ‘Branch Office’ & ‘Area Office’. The common excuse that Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan gives to all the 3 wives is that, because of his super busy job, he will spend one night with them and two nights in the office. In that way, he actually does justice to all the three wives. The story takes a U-turn with the entry of Deepika aka ‘Enquiry Office’ (Elli Avram), the girl whom he really loves. Due to the fear of losing Deepika, Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan keeps her too in the dark about his marriages and his respective wives.

Hats off to the director duo Abbas – Mustan for moving out of their thriller comfort zone & serving the viewers with a delightful comic oriented recipe.

Performance wise debutante Kapil Sharma has done wonders. And he surely did not have to move out of his comfort zone of comedy He is equally good in romance & emotional arena. As for the heroines Manjari Phadnis, Elli Avram, Simran Kaur Mundi are concerned they are superb in their own individual roles. Another outstanding performance comes from Varun Sharma. But the same cannot be said about the other actors of the movie.

Tail Piece: Not to be missed film at any cost.

Pakistani actress Sadia refuses to kiss Indian actor Kapil Sharma

April 21, 2015 by Shaheen Raaj

Kapil-Sharma-Sadia

Here is the latest buzz doing the round of the inner circles of Bollywood. It’s been reported of late about Balaji Telefilm’s Ekta Kapoor’s diktat on the ‘nudity clause’, in her upcoming film ‘XXX’ as a mandatory clause in all the contract, and it seems that director Sanjay Sharma is the biggest supporter of the initiative taken by the Czarina of Bollywood.

And now according to the reliable sources associated with the controversial gay love story ‘Dunno Y2……..Life is a moment’, director Sanjay Sharma was so aghast at the attitude of his leading lady, the Pakistani heroine Sadia whilst shooting the film and wished he too would have had the liberty of such a clause as that of Ekta Kapoor. Apparently, Sadia created quite an uproar when she had to just do a kissing scene in the film.  Sadia refused to kiss the Indian actor Kapil Sharma in the film, and backed out in the last moment as she was scared of the backlash in Pakistan.

The shooting came to a halt as the director was heard saying that, “if Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit et al could do it, why can’t Sadia do it, as it was an important scene in the film, which drives it ahead. it was very unprofessional on her part”

The source added, “Even Sadia had her point of view and tried explaining to the unit that even though India is an open country, the celebrities involved in the kissing scenes had to face legal notices by the hardline fringe elements here too. And Pakistan is a much more conservative Muslim country. Besides once it get viral, will be difficult to digitally erase it, and the bigoted lobbies in Pakistan will exploit it for eternity”

But the source also bitchily added, “What Sadia didn’t actually say is that her boyfriend in Pakistan will not approve of the Kissing scene.”

Well, well maybe Ekta Kapoor has a relevant point here on her ‘nudity’ clause in contract what with actress developing cold feet whilst shooting after agreeing at the script narration.

Like they say in Hindi, picture abtak baki hai, seems like the ‘Kissa Kiss Ka’ will unravel more secrets.

Ekta Kapoor’s Adds a clause of “Nudity” for the prospective actors of ‘XXX’

Balaji Telefilms head honcho Ekta Kapoor has recently added a strict clause of “nudity” for the prospective débutante Actors Of ‘XXX’
Incidentally speaking Ekta Kapoor indeed seems to have made a bold move by adding the ‘nudity clause’ for actors who will be seen in her upcoming film ‘XXX’. This clause also pertains to actors belonging to Balaji Stable, mainly the ones who will be playing the leads in her upcoming erotica ‘XXX’. Already the film’s posters are making news for their bold approach but the producer without any inhibitions has decided to go ahead with the addition of the clause.

Considering the theme of the film, it is obvious that it will have a lot of sequences related to sex and other provocative elements. In order to avoid any kind of compromise, Mademoiselle Ekta Kapoor is now making sure that her actors don’t back out and hence have decided to include the “nudity” clause’ so that they do not reject any intimate scenes or dialogues at the last moment. Ken Ghosh, who will be directing ‘XXX’, mentioned that this is a techno-legal clause that was put on paper after many discussions. He further added that ‘XXX’ is a straight forward erotica which is not pushed under the pretext of any other genre. As far as the cast of ‘XXX’ is concerned, the makers are planning to rope in new faces. This erotica is a blend of 5 stories that explore sexuality in a different way in each story.
