Siddharth & Samantha To Come Together Again

After Simbu & Nayanthara doing the impossible of acting together after their breakup in ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’, one more former couple is also coming together for a film. The pair in question is Samantha & Siddharth who had broken up a few months back and walked out of ‘Bangalore Days’ because of that. Director Sundar C is the director who has achieved this casting coup for his film ‘Aranmanai 2’. Siddharth, Trisha, Hansika & Soori are already on board for the project and reportedly Samantha has given her nod to play a leading role in the film which is getting bigger & bigger as the days pass.

Vijay Back On Duty For ‘Puli’

Illayathalapthy Vijay after a couple of weeks rest from the non-stop shoot for his fantasy film ‘Puli’ is currently dubbing for his scenes for the past couple of days and the superstar was extremely happy the way the scenes have come out. The other credits are Natty Natraj’s camera, Sreekar Prasad’s editing, T. Muthuraj’s art work & Chimbudevan’s deft direction have combined to provide stunning visuals that would provide immense satisfaction to all Vijay fans. The pace at which the post production is going on indicate that producers P. T. Selvakumar & Shibu Thameens are planning to release the movie well ahead of the scheduled 17th Sept, 2015 as a treat for Vijay fans.

Sri & Rana Shooting In Mahabalipuram

The shooting of the Tamil remake of ‘Bangalore Days’ directed by Baskar is going on in full swing and right now scenes involving ‘Kaaki Sattai’ girl Sri Divya & Rana Dagubatti are being shot in and around Mahabalipuram. PVP Cinema are the producers of this full fledged multi-starrer that has Arya, Bobby Simhaa, Rana Dagubatti, Sri Divya, Nithya Menon, Parvathy Menon & Raai Lakshmi in the cast.

Abhinaya In An Action Thriller

Abhinaya of ‘Nadodigal’ & ‘Easan’ fame is back after a break. The actress plays a key role in a film titled ‘Thudi’, an action thriller based on the Mumbai hotel attack incident. Directed by Rithun Shankar, the film has Suman, Brahmanandam and others in key roles. “Abhinaya plays a receptionist in the hotel. Her role & performance will be talked about,” says the director.

On why the title ‘Thudi’, he said, “Thudi means a music instrument in the hands of Lord Siva. Those days, it was used to communicate with people. We thought it would be the apt title for the movie.” He added that the entire story unfolds in 12 hours, from 6 pm to 6 am.

‘Ketugadu’ In Post Production

Tejus, who made his acting debut with the movie ‘Ulavacharu Biryani’, has now teamed up with a new director named Kittu Nallari for a film titled ‘Ketugadu’. Chandini Chowdary is the lead actress in this movie. Venkatesh Balasani is producing this film in association with ‘100 Crores Academy’. Famous writer VSP Thenneti is presenting this movie. Sai Karthik composed the music for this film.
The shooting was completed recently and the post production work is currently going on. The producers are planning to release the audio in the 1st week of Jun, 2015 and the film by the end of the same month.

Taapsee The Choosy Damsel

After playing an undercover agent in Hindi film ‘Baby’, Taapsee Pannu, is all set to play a cop in a Tamil film. The Delhi based model, who is currently basking in the glory of Ganga (Kanchana 2 in Tamil), will don khakis for her role in ‘Kaan’, directed by Selvaraghavan. The pretty damsel is paired opposite Simbu in the action thriller, which also features Catherine Tresa. Taapsee, who always looks for versatility in picking roles, goes deglam for a role in another Tamil film directed by Thiru. The actress would be playing a girl Tamizhchelvi who hails from Kumbakonam in the family drama. By picking roles that are diametrically opposite, Taapsee, who recently admitted that she’s choosy when it comes to roles, once again proved that she’s particular.

Rajinikanth Visits An Ashram in Coimbatore

Rajinikanth, who is known for his frequent spiritual sojourns, recently paid a visit to Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Anaikatti in the outskirts of Coimbatore a couple of days back. The superstar has been a regular visitor to the ashram as he is a devotee of spiritual Guru Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Apparently, Rajini spent close to 2 hours at the Ashram and left for Chennai in the afternoon. Anushka Gains 15 Kgs For ‘Size Zero’

That Anushka would gain & lose weight for her forthcoming bilingual film ‘Size Zero’ is evident. The Bangalore damsel has put on 15kg weight for her role of an obese woman in the comic drama. Apparently, the actress has been on a high carbohydrate diet and has not hit the gym in the last couple of months.

Besides Anushka will put on more kilos for her role and the actress seems to be pretty happy with it. The unit is currently shooting scenes on Anushka’s hefty look and later, the actress will have to lose weight for a slim look.

Shalu To Canvas For Karthikeyan’s Son

UDF has declared its new candidate from Aruvikara and that is Karthikeyan’s son. While there is widespread dissatisfaction with this move, prompting comments of trying to bank on sympathetic votes, more bizarre incidents are unfolding. Popular actors canvassing for a political candidate is not new. But infamous actress Shalu Menon’s confirmation that she will be canvassing for the UDF has prompted quite an outburst of sarcastic reactions, considering her part in the recent solar scam case. Shalu wrote that she and actor Jagadish will go on field. She says that having the UDF government in power is essential for the survival of a common person like her. The canvassing for Sabarinathan Karthikeyan will begin soon.

Prithviarj is a self confessed cinephile. He is someone who dabbles in the various aspects of filmmaking and takes minute interest in the behind the scene workings of a movie. He is already a sensational actor and also a successful producer. Prithviraj has revealed that he has a wish to direct a movie. He says that this is only because he is a thorough lover of cinema. He observes that the cinescape has changed from when he worked with Shymaprasad in ‘Akale’. A lot of changes have come in, including the technical aspects, he says. Prithivarj is someone who updates himself of all these changes and keeps abreast of the innovations happening in the field of cinema.

‘Galli Bakery’ Progressing

Twin Tower Entertainment Private Limited’s Mohammad Mustafa’s maiden production ‘Galli Bakery’ has completed major portions of shooting at Krishna Reddy residence in Vidyaranyapura, Uttanahalli & J P Nagar localities. In this schedule of shoot Suchindra Prasad, Yamuna Srinidi, Prajwal Poovaiah, Ramesh Bhat, Jayalakshmi, Santosh and others took part in the interior talkie portions of the shooting. K S Murthy is debut director, Ramesh Koira is cameraman & Sunad Gautham has composed music. Radhakrishna has penned screenplay, Sharanya Radhakrishna worked in the dialogues, Kaurava Venkatesh stunts, Babu Khan art, Madan & Harini’s choreography add to the technical team. Santosh & Prajju Poovaiah are in lead roles. Soorya, Pradeep and others are also in the cast.

Manisha Koirala Approached

Manisha Koirala has been approached to play a small role in actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming Tamil thriller. Talks are going on with Manisha to play Kamal’s wife in the movie. It’s a small role. But nothing has been finalised yet. Manisha & Kamal were last seen in Shankar’s ‘Indian’ (1996).

Meanwhile, Kamal’s long-time associate Rajesh will wield the megaphone for the project, which is said to be a thriller that’ll unfold in a single night. The film, that features Trisha Krishnan in the lead role, is all set to go on the floors later this month.

Vishal Salutes The True Hero Of ‘Paayum Puli’

On the eve of shooting the climax for ‘Paayum Puli’ actor Vishal has offered his salutations to the late Police Sub Inspector Alwin Sudhan on whose life the movie is based on. The SI who was known to oppose caste based riots was unarmed doing bandabost duties when he was murdered by an armed gang in Sivanganga district in the year 2012. He was awarded the Police Medal of Gallantry posthumously by the President of India. God – The Almighty bless his soul. ‘Paayum Puli’ is directed by Suseenthiran & produced by Vendhar Movies and has Vishal, Kajal Agarwal, Samuthirakani, Soori and a host of other stars in the cast. Manjima To Make Her Telugu Debut

Naga Chaitanya might romance Manjima Mohan in his next film to be directed by Gautham Menon. Interstingly, the Malayalam actress is playing Simbu’s love interest in the Tamil version “Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’ and buzz is that she’ll be paired opposite Naga Chaitanya for the Telugu version too. Apparently, the 22 year-old actress has replaced Pallavi Subhash, who was originally picked for the leading lady role. Gautham was impressed with her work in the Malayalam film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ and decided to cast her in the film. More details are awaited.

Nara Rohit’s upcoming Telugu crime-drama ‘Appatlo Okkadundevadu’, is said to be based on true events that transpired in 1990. It’s inspired from true events that happened during this time period. Nara has fictionalised these events for the screen. It’s partly based on a crime biography. Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Lion’ was released 14th May, 2015. Balakrishna will be seen in 2 different roles, Bose & Godse, in this movie. He played a CBI officer in the movie. Producer of the film, ‘Rudrapati Ramanarao’, averred that the 2nd role will be very interesting. The action episodes, choreographed by Ram-Laxman, are going to be very interesting. The interval bang, the tribal fight in the 2nd half and the climax are going to be the highlights. Trisha & Radhika Apte romanced Balayya in this film. Satya Deva, the director of the film, is very confident that the film will be a big hit. He praised Balakrishna’s hard work for the film.

Samantha’s New Look In Her New Film

Samantha is playing one of the leading ladies in Dhanush’s upcoming film, directed by Velraj of ‘Velai Illa Pattathari’ fame. This film, which is tentatively titled as ‘VIP 2’, has Amy Jackson as the other leading lady. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director of this film. Samantha averred that the role she is playing in this film is her best ever.

Dileep In & As ‘Apoorva G.V’

Dileep’s upcoming movie has been interestingly named ‘Apoorva G.V’. He plays a character named George Vadakkan (GV) who is the all in all of a club named Apoorva. This is how the title has come about, setting a quirky moniker – the strange one – if read together. The movie will be high on humour and will have actors like Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Chempan Vinod et al gracing the screen.

‘Apoorva GV’ is being directed by Biju Arookuty, who is also the movie’s scenarist. His earlier movie ‘3 Dots’ had done quite well. Dileep has a lot many movies lined up. He is currently shooting for ‘Love 24×7’ directed by Sreebala. His latest release, ‘Chandrettan Evideya’ is doing well at the box office. Dileep’s heroine in ‘Apoorva GV’ is yet to be finalised.

Anu Roped In

Anu Mol has essayed some bold roles in the past and the actress has been roped in to play a very different role in an upcoming movie titled ‘Jamna Pyari’. The movie will have the actress in a new avatar, about which she doesn’t want to reveal much. All she says is that it will be a character which will redefine the kind of image she has.

Anu Mol added that her choice of this role was deliberate, to change the misconception that she will only do certain kinds of roles. Her character in the movie is named Veena who helps Kunchako Boban’s character at a critical juncture. Débutante Gayathri Suresh plays the female lead in the movie. ‘Jamna Pyari’ is being directed by Thomas Sebastian.

Anjali All Set To Regain Lost Ground

Anjali is now all set to regain her lost ground with firm determination after sorting out all her domestic issues. Incidentally speaking right from her debut Tamil movie ‘Kattradhu Thamizh’ Anjali had alreedy proved that she is an actress of immense talent & potential and her later films like ‘Angadi Theru’, ‘Thoonga Nagaram’, ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ ‘Mankaatha’ & ‘Kalakalappu’ stand testimony to the fact. Prashanth’s latest heroine Amenda hails from Australia. Yes! Amenda happens to be a hotshot model from Australia. She will be the heroine of Prashanth in the actor’s comeback vehicle ‘Saahasam’, written & produced by his father and veteran actor Thiyagarajan. Amenda, who was trained at an acting institute in London, is thrilled about making her debut in Kollywood. She plans to commit more Tamil movies after the release of Saahasam. While Prashanth on his part stated that ‘Saahasam’ has brought out the full talent in him. Its songs will be canned in Japan & Korea. Plans are on to release the audio this month. Nagarjuna, of late, has had a change of mind. Incidentally speaking Nagarjuna had recently denied reports that he is going to act in the remake of Kannada super hit film ‘Mythri’, which stars Puneeth Rajkumar & Mohanlal in the leads. But all of a sudden he seems to have changed his mind. The latest buzz in filmnagar is that Nagarjuna loved the film after watching it recently and has given his nod to act in the remake. The Shooting Of ‘Baahubali 2’ To Commence From Aug 2015

The shooting of ‘Baahubali 2’ is all planned to commence from Aug, 2015. Incidentally speaking the shooting of the 1st part of ‘Baahubali’ was wrapped up recently and the post production work is in full swing currently. This film is expected to be released very soon and not only Telugu & Tamil audiences, even Bollywood fans are eagerly waiting to watch the film. Now Rana Daggubati has confirmed that the shooting of ‘Baahubali 2’ will start in Aug, 2015. Prabhas will complete his project with Sujeeth meanwhile. Rana Daggubati is currently working for the Tamil version of ‘Bangalore Days’.

Pawan Kalyan Is All Geared Up To Fight Against Government

Pawan Kalyan is now all geared up to fight against the Government. Earlier on Pawan Kalyan had met farmers in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh and said that the Government should not acquire land from farmers who are not willing to give it. Recently there were reports that the Andhra Pradesh Government is going to impose land acquisition act against farmers, Pawan Kalyan took to his twitter handle and wrote, “According to media reports, Andhra Pradesh Government is going to impose land acquisition act on farmers who are not willing to give their lands for capital construction and they even informed High court about it. If it is their decision, I am ready to fight against the Government on the behalf of the farmers”.

For fear of ghost the doors outside the houses were written ‘Come Tomorrow’ – meaning ‘Baa Naale Baala’. The presumption is that ghosts reading it would go away. A superstitious belief. 1st time director & producer T K Urs has developed a story of grudge of a village chieftain on this to safeguard his property. It bounces back on him resulting in repentance. Sri Yogeshwari Arts Creations has roped in AT Ravish for music & Dhanush for cinematography. While Srinidi Sangeetha Urs has penned the dialogues, Raju & Jaggu are the choreographers, Sriman has written lyrics, Mass Madha & Style King Williams handled the stunts.

The Cult Film ‘Shiva’ To Be Released Again

The cult film ‘Shiva’ to be re-released. A film that redefined Telugu cinema, ‘Shiva’, is going to be released again. The digitally remastered version of the film will be released on 15th May, 2015 and it has been officially confirmed. The quality of the sound and the other technical aspects is enhanced now. Ram Gopal Varma & Nagarjuna had announced that they will re-release the film at the 25 years celebrations of the movie a few months back. The film will be released under Annapurna Studios banner in a good number of theatres.

‘Honeybee’ Sequel Coming Soon

Incidentally speaking the sequel of the hit movie ‘Honeybee’ which was the directorial debut of Lal Jr, is scheduled to take off. The scripting has been completed and the original cast of Asif Ali, Baburaj, Sreentah Bhasi, Lal, Bhavana et al will reprise their roles in the upcoming movie too. It is also said that certain popular actors of M’Town will play a part in special appearances in the movie. Jean Paul aka Lal Jr. also has another movie lined up. It is a Mammootty starrer titled ‘Driving License’.

Pearle Maaney to enact the role of a bride in ‘Loham’. And contrary to the reports that Pearle Maaney is doing an item dance in the movie ‘Loham’, the actress has posted a picture of her in a bridal get up, with Mohanlal. She had earlier stated that she won’t be updating the picture since it would give away the characterization. However, she has done so, probably with fake news about her “item dance” spreading. As he has more information on Veerappan a very dangerous fugitive. The person who killed Veerappan according to Varma is a great personality. This film on ‘Killing Veerappan’ explains what others have not told in the narration. Veerappan was most cruel compared to other criminals. The killer of ‘Veerappan’ in this film is Dr Shivaraj Kumar. It is Dr Shivaraj Kumar’s father icon of Karnataka Dr Rajkumar kidnapped by fugitive Veerappan and kept in dense forest for 108 days. Kamal Hassan’ Film ‘Uttama Villain’ In Legal Hassles

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Uttama Villain’ was all set to release in 1st May 2015. Kamal Haasan’s ambitious project ‘Uttama Villain’, directed by his actor friend Ramesh Aravind, was slated for a release on 1st May, 2015. In fact the producers had planned a big release in Tamil & Telugu. Now a production company named ‘Thangam Cinemas’ has approached court claiming that Thirupathi Brothers banner, which produced the film, owe them Rs. 2 crores and asked the court to not allow the film’s release till the amount is settled. However, Thirupathi Brothers agreed to pay Rs.1 crore and said that they will pay the balance amount after the release. The court has adjourned the case and the film will release as planned, if the issue is settled.

Shruti Haasan of late is also stuck In Legal hassles due to her controversial item dance. The release date Arya’s next multi starrer film ‘Purampokku has now been locked. Director S. P. Jananathan’s stylish multi starrer ‘Purampokku’ featuring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Karthika Nair & Shaam is now releasing on 1st May, 2015 and Disney UTV chief G. Dananjayan confirmed this on his micro blogging site. The film touches the sensitive issue of capital punishment and is in the political thriller genre. Arya is said to play a social & financial analyst while Vijay Sethupathi & Shaam play a railway coolie & police officer respectively. Karthika Nair the heroine has performed some risky stunt sequences and it is evident from the trailer that production value is on par with Hollywood flicks.

Anushka has put in tremendous hard work for almost 2 years to play the female lead Devasena in S. S. Rajamouli’s bilingual ‘Bahubali’. Anushka has undergone vigorous training in sword fighting as part of her homework for the magnum opus. ‘Bahubali’ was scheduled to be released on the 15th of May, 2015 but the film could be postponed by more than a month to sometime in July, 2015 as there is delay in the extensive post production work. Prabhas & Rana Dagubatti play warring brothers in ‘Bahubali’ and the top notch supporting cast includes Sudeep, Tamanaah, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan & Nasser. Madan Karky is responsible for the Tamil dialogues while M. M. Keeravani scores the music.

The official release date of ‘Kick 2’ has now been confirmed. Kalyan Ram, who scored a super hit this year with the film, ‘Pataas’, is producing ‘Kick 2’ with Ravi Teja & Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. Surender Reddy is the director of this film. 2 songs were shot in Switzerland and this schedule was completed on 31st Mar, 2015. With the song which starts on 3rd Apr, 2015 at Annapurna Studios, the total shooting will be completed. The makers are planning to release the movie worldwide on 7th May, 2015. Bollywood actor Nikitin Dheer of ‘Chennai Express’ fame is playing the villain in this film.

Rudramuni has penned the story & the screenplay and also directs this film. For the songs of Arjun Janya 2 famous lyricists Dr V. Nagendra Prasad & Jayanth Kaikini have penned the songs. Keshavaditya worked on the dialogues, Ramesh Babu is cameraman, PR Sounder Raj is editing, Ram Shetty & Ramesh have directed the stunts & Ishwari Kumar art direction are part of the ‘Local Train’.

A new film ‘Ugraksha’ rolled recently. After ‘Ugram’ success a similar sounding title ‘Ugraksha’ went on the floosr recently. An action packed film by Bharat Kumar of Hoskote starring Abhinav Shreyas was clapped for the 1st shot by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Swabhimani Association Krishne Gowda. KFCC President Thomas D Souza switched on the camera. R Vidhaa has penned story, screenplay, dialogues besides direction for the film.

Murali Krish is cameraman and M Sanjeev is music composer.
