The Southeat Division police of Koramangala and Parappana Agrahara police have arrested trio notorious thieves involved in-house theft cases in the city and recovered valuables worth Rs 47 lakh.
The accused has been identified as Kantharaj alias Mori kantha, 42, a resident of Peenya and a native of Chikkaballapur.Pandiyan,27,a resident of Gudiyatham of Tamilnadu state,Annamalai,25,a resident of Kanagaiah nagar of Tamilnadu state.
The police said the accused later came to the city and settled down in Peenya.He was previously arrested and was booked in over 10 criminal cases in the city.
Pramila,victim who is even Police constable with Bengaluru city police and resident of koramangala is also a victim after receiving the gold she said,My brother and I left home around 9:30 am,for work we returned home only to see someone broke into the house we lost around 80 grams of gold.After Invesitigation now the koramangala police have returned the gold to us and I thank all the officers who has done a tremendous and exemplary work in nabbing these notorious burglars and recovered our gold from them she said.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,T.Suneel Kumar,told media persons that with the number of house thefts increasing in South East division,the DCP,Southeast,Dr.M.B. Boralingaiah had formed a special team under the leadership of ACP Madiwala Sub-division,Somegowda and under the supervision of koramangala police inspector,Manjunath and their crime staff has swung into action to crack down the cases.Based on credible information and vital clues,
The special team of Koramangala police station arrested Kantharaj alias Morikantha on suspect basis while on patrolling and as our team did not convince with his statements the team detained him for further questioning and during the course of interrogation, it was found that the accused have committed many crimes across Bengaluru and is involved in-house burglaries which has taken place in southeast division as the team grilled he spilled the beans and the accused used to reach the area in the morning, identify locked houses and break into them in the early hours in between 1 am to 4 am and he used to sell stolen articles in bits and pieces whenever he needed money said Kanthraj alias Morikantha and As for how Kantharaj earned the name Morikantha,once while committing robbery he was chased by the public and he hired in a sewage pipe to save himself.
Since then he started hiding his booty inside a sewage pipe and gained a name of Morikantha and based on his statements the team of Kormangala police has recovered 1.19 kg of gold ornaments and 900 grams of silver articles worth Rs 30.97 lakh from him.A detailed investigation by the team we found the accused has come out of jail and resumed committing thefts and with his arrest we have solved 13 theft cases in the city and he used to commit thefts to live a lavish life and when he ran out of money for his favourite lamb dish he used to sell the gold in pieces whenever he runs out of money and however, after he got bail,
he resumed robberies, but this time it was to pay off the lawyer fees he said to crime team.With the arrest of this notorious Mori Kantha the cops have solved cases registered in various police stations as,Peenya police station,Begur Police station,Parappana Agrahara police station,Sudguntepalya police station,2 cases each and 1 case each of,Mico layout police Station,Tiptur town police Station,Electronic city police station,Hulimavu police station and koramangala police station altogether 13 cases has been solved.The Parappana Agrahara police inspector,B.K.Kishore Kumar and his crime team has nabbed two notorious Inter-State burglars.
Identified as Pandiyan and Annamalai they are Inter-State burglars from Tamilnadu.Who used to do centring works in under construction building and in the meanwhile they used to roam in the city to identify locked houses then in the early hours the duo used to break open the locked doors and rob the valuables.There are several cases against all the trio in the city and cops were waiting to nab them.
Finally they fell into the net of cops from koramangala and Parappana Agrahara cops have recovered stolen property worth of Rs.47 lakhs from them in which koramangala police have recovered about Rs.31 lakhs property and Parapanna Agrahara police have recovered stolen property worth Rs.16 lakhs from them and cases have been registered against them in Koramangala and Parappana Agrahara police station and further investigation is on and finally Bengaluru Police commissioner,T.Suneel Kumar has appreciated,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,DCP,Southeast,Dr.M.B. Boralingaiah,ACPs,as,G.U. Somegowda,Ramesh.K.N, PIs,as,B.S.Manjunath,B.K. Kishore Kumar,PSIs,as,Eshwari.Suresh, Siddappa,S.Babu,and crime staff as,Manjunath,Smt. Jagadeeshwari, Nanjesh,Jaykumar,Harish,Sunil Pawar,Lakshman Nayak,Dhananjaya,Venkatswamy, Shivaraju,Manjunath Lamani,Yogesh,Karibasappa,M. Raghu, Honappa Pujari for the commendable job done by them in nabbing these notorious criminals who has given sleepless nights to cops and residents are now cooling their heels in jail and a suitable reward will be given to team he added.
