The KP Agrahara police on Sunday arrested two persons and recovered gold and silver articles worth Rs 6.5 lakh,which they have stolen from a house earlier this month.
The accused have been identified as Praveena, 23,and Surya,19,both labourers by profession.
Senior officer told media persons a house breaking theft case was reported in KP Agrahara police station in which the complainant stated that when they went out someone has entered the house and ransacked their belongings and made away with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.6.5 lakhs.
Based on complaint special team was formed to nab the culprits and the team visited the spot and after inspecting the spot the team analysed CCTV footage in the area and using technical investigation skill the team got a vital clue and identity of the accused.
Based on the evidence the team zeroed in on two persons and during interrogation the suspects confessed the crime and it is revealed that the duo had kept a watch on the house and they knew that the house owner keeps the key near window.
After confirming nobody in the house the duo taken the keys of the house kept in the window sill,gained access and made away with the valuables.
Based on their confession the team recovered the valuables including 150 grams of gold and 148 grams of silver articles worth of Rs.6.5 lakhs from them.
The KP Agrahara police booked the duo under house break theft and remanded them to judicial custody and further investigation is on.
