Udupi: Amid the nationwide surge in a number of cases of black fungus in COVID-19 patients, the Udupi district has reported two cases of black fungus in COVID patients. The information was shared by the Udupi District Health Department.
Among the patients are a 60-year-old woman from Santekatte and a 45-year-old man from Kapu Taluk. Both the patients are reportedly being treated at the Adarsha Hospital in Udupi.
This is the first instance of black fungus cases being reported in the Udupi District. However, seven patients from other districts are being treated at the KMC Hospital of the district for the virus.
