The West Division police of Byatarayanapura police on Wednesday cracked a robbery case and arrested a 29-year-old executive of a gold loan company who cooked up a robbery case to pocket Rs 4 lakh cash which he is supposed to deliver it to one of the branch.
Senior officer told reporters,Acting swiftly the Byatarayanpura police police cracked the case within 1 hour and arrested,Arun Kumar.
A gold loan executive of Attica gold company filed a complaint in Byatarayanapura police station stating that when he was on his way to deposit money in branch some unidentified bike borne miscreants confronted him and threw chilli powder on him and robbed Rs.4 lakhs which he had.
Immediately Byatarayanpura police Inspector,Shankar Naik GK and his crime staff visited the crime scene with the vicitm and while recreating the scene of crime when Inspector asked the gold loan executive to narrate the incident again.
While narrating the incident Upon verifying the facts Inspector Shankar Naik, GK,found that distorted facts while narrating the incident.On suspicion the police subjected him to eye test to find that there was no chilli powder attack.
He was taken into custody and a detailed investigation led him to confess to the crime.
During investigation it was found Arun Kumar,working as a sales executive with Attica Gold since last one month.His job was to collect cash from main branch in Shivaji Nagar and distribute it to branches across the city.
Police said he collected Rs.8 lakh from the main branch on Wednesday morning and left at 10 am.
A detailed investigation by the team the accused spilled the beans and revealed that Before going to the branches to deposit the money, he allegedly went to his house and kept Rs.4 lakh cash before heading to a branch located in Bapujinagar.
Depositing Rs.4 lakh there,he told the staff members that he has to deposit another Rs.4 lakh at another branch and left.This is to create an alibi.
While moving on the flyover in front of Nayandahalli metro station,he threw chilli powder on his face when vehicle movement was less.
He stopped a goods vehicle for help and cooked up a story that bike-borne unidentified men had thrown chilli powder assaulted him,and taken the cash Rs.4 lakh that was kept in the backpack.
He also claimed they had taken his vehicle key. He asked the driver to record his video where he narrated the incident and sent the same to his manager,a officer said.
Based on his information the police recovered the cash.Arun Kumar confessed that his sister was having a financial problem and wanted to help her.
He had asked his manager for a loan but he refused since Arun Kumar had joined just a month ago so he hatched a plan of robbery and landed in police net and is cooling his heels in jail.
