June 22, 2018 by Nasheman

The national truckers’ organization on Friday temporarily called off their strike, claiming to have received a communication from the Union Road Transport Ministry promising a meeting.

“We received a call from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s office and they have called us to talk… We have temporarily called off the strike because it was affecting truckers and people both,” ACOGOA General Secretary Kausar Hussain told IANS.

The All India Confederation of Goods Vehicles Owners’ Association (ACOGOA), that had called a nationwide strike on June 18 against the high diesel prices, high toll rates and a sharp hike of third-party insurance premium, said they have received assurance of a meeting after June 27.

“We have received a telephone call from central ministry, that since the minister is not in station till June 27, to call off the strike… In view of this and in the public interest, we have postponed the truckers strike,” said a statement from ACOGOA president B. Channa Reddy.

5 Activists Gang-Raped In Jharkhand, Allegedly At Gunpoint.

June 22, 2018 by Nasheman

Five women from a non-profit conducting an awareness campaign at a tribal area of Jharkhand were abducted and gang-raped at gunpoint. The men accompanying them have been thrashed. The police said the rapists made a video and used it to threaten the women with exposure if they complained.

The 11-member team, belonging to a non-profit supported by local Christian missionaries, had gone to hold a street play against human trafficking at Kochang in Khunti district, around 50 km from state capital Ranchi.

As the performance was in progress, a group of armed men came on bikes, beat up the men and took away the women at gunpoint. They were released in the jungle three hours later. The two nuns who had accompanied the women, however, were released unharmed.

After being threatened by the men, the women did not inform the administration about the incident. The officials were tipped off by sources, reported news agency Press Trust of India, quoting local police officer Ashwini Kumar Sinha.

The police have detained nine persons for questioning and a medical board has also been formed, the police said. Medical examination has confirmed rape and a case has been filed. Mr. Sinha said three teams have been formed to investigate the matter and arrest the culprits.

Reports from the area say the men involved are supporters of Pathalgadi — a tribal system under which the people govern themselves according to the tribe’s rules and do not recognize the state’s authority. They argue that the Constitution has given them the right to practice their own systems.

The name Pathalgadi is related to the huge stone slabs inscribed with ancestral names that are preserved by the villagers.

Outsiders, including the police and government officials, are not allowed in these villages without permission.

The Most Mind-boggling sculpture of Tanjavur  Brihadeshwara Temple.

June 22, 2018 by Nasheman

By Abhirami

The most auspicious temple for every Hindu people is Brihadeshwara temple. It is considered as the most sacred temple in South India, and mostly for Tamilians.

Brihadeshwara temple, is also called as Rajarajeswaram kovil and peruvudaiyar kovil . It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thanjavur , Tamil Nadu, India . It is one of the largest South Indian temples and example of fully realized Tamil Architecture. It was built by Raja Raja Chola 1 between 1003 and 1010 A.D. The temple is a part of World Heritage Site and is known as Great Living Chola temples, along with the Chola dynasty era Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple and Airavatesvara temple that are about 70 kilometers and 40 kilometers to it’s Northeast respectively.

Considered a marvel and miracle in the history of temple construction, the temple houses a huge Shivalinga in it’s sanctum justifying the name Brihadeshwara (the all-pervasive Lord) .The whole of the temple is constructed from granite stones. Expert architects marvel at how the octagonally shaped capstone weighing about 81 tons was lifted and placed on top of the hollow Shikara measuring 216 feet(66 metres). The 216 feet Vimana is notable as one of the tallest man-made Shikaras of the world.

The Chola King Arulmozhivarman, praised as Rajaraja Chola 1, was a great conqueror whole ruled the entire South India, Ceylon , Malaya and Maldives islands. Laying the foundation for the temple following the orders received in his dream and accomplishing it around 1010 A.D., he named the temple Rajarajeshwaram.

While none of the massive palaces built during the history of Chola survives today, the fact that Brihadeshwara temple has managed to stand the test of time for more than a thousand years proves the superior accomplishment of Chola architecture and the patron’s incomparable devotion for Lord Shiva.

June 22, 2018 by Nasheman

By Andrea Princy, Abhirami, Santhosha D

The determination never lets you down. The more we trust in the field we love, the more confidence it gives. On the path of failure, we will find the success as the goal.
Nanjundaiah : A person from a poor family in a village, worked hard and did his B.E ad MBA in Bangalore. He understood the hard work of the farmers and villagers who are suffering without electricity. So, he planned to create a machine which will produce electricity using wind as it’s source of energy. He was given recognition in the IISC and was given a patent for that machine. The IISC people appreciated him and told him to create a machine which can work anywhere without depending on wind. So, he planned to create a machine which will use the energy from the source and keep reusing the same energy.
He named this machine as Renewable Energy Machine. He spent 1 and 1/2 year to complete this machine and used this machine at his place for 1 year and his family was satisfied with the process of the machine. This machine uses a battery to generate energy and renews that energy again and again to generate electricity. This machine hasn’t yet received the patent but after it receives, he is planning to create 4 more types of machines which will be useful for farmers, in automobiles, etc. These machines are useful for household purposes also.
This machine will be the third kind of machine, the first one is petrol and the second is diesel. The source for this machine is taken from batteries, it’s not going to pollute the environment and safe for all living things in the environment.
A humble Indian is gifted with a great talent. An Indian from a village works hard to develop India and aid the poor income society. So, let us appreciate our fellow Indian by purchasing an Indian model for the development of our country.

Poverty is an age old phenomena

June 22, 2018 by Nasheman

By  D. Santhosha

“The world ‘s hunger is getting ridiculous. There is more fruit in a rich man’s.Shampoo than in a poor man’s plate”

Poverty; is a reduction which has been unanimously endorsed by the international community as the over aching goal of development.

Poverty can be defined in very precise technical terms that facilitate it’s measurement. It can also be characterized in a more multidimensional – yet less precise manner that helps seeing poverty in relation to it’s cause, it’s context, it’s consequences and the way it is related to phenomena that can be influenced.

The level under which the poverty is unacceptable ( absolute poverty, extreme or serious poverty)

The ILO introduced the ” Basic Needs ” concept in 1970’s and 1980’s. This concept is to bring available in the community of public goods and services to define and assess the poverty.

“People move out of poverty when they fall into poverty” this is to understand poverty as a static affair and the poor as a stable and identifiable group of people which is offense misleading.

Transmission of poverty is commonwealth and have a high tendency to transcend generation. In most of the country context, to be born in a poor family predestines a child to a lifetime of poverty.

This shows that the poverty is an end result of brooder development which is possible through transformative economic and social policies.

To eradicate the poverty, One should put oneself in the shoes of poverty to feel and understand the sympathy which ignites the empathy in a person heart which can bring changes in the society. Let poverty not be told just in words but let it be done in reality
