Jaffer Sharief wants to take over Amanath Bank, ordered to submit his scheme by HC

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Amanath-Bank

Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court today ordered former Union minister C. K. Jaffer Sharief and his associates to submit their scheme of action in detail before the next court hearing on 21st of this month, about their plan to take over the beleaguered Amanath Co-operative Bank (ACB).

Following the options laid out by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), of either having the bank merged with another bank, or in the failure of the merger within the stipulated time frame – the liquidation of the bank, Canara Bank had announced its decision to take over the assets and liabilities of the beleaguered bank, which was welcomed by the current Board of Directors of ACB.

Mr. Sharief and his associates had sought a probe by the CBI into the affairs of ACB as it is facing financial crisis due to irregularities, and had filed a plea againt the merger of the Bank with Canara Bank.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice D.H. Waghela and Justice Ashok B. Hinchigeri have asked Mr. Sharief for a blueprint of his plan.

The bench said that it will review both the parties’ proposal before deciding the fate of the Bank.

The Bench will hear all the appeals related to the issue on October 21st.

War on Muslims declared in Sri Lanka

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Bodu Bala Sena

– by Latheef Farook, Colombo Telegraph

Anti Muslim Sinhala racist outfit Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), which does not represent the mainstream Sinhala Buddhists, but had done considerable damage to pit Sinhalese against Muslims in the name of Sinhalese and Buddhism, together with Myanmar’s convicted criminal Ashin Wirathu, have declared war on Islam and Muslims in Sri Lanka and in South Asia.

As part of this program the two sides, BBS and 969, also signed a special agreement aimed at creating South Asia free of what they described as (Islamic) terrorism and religious fundamentalism.

Addressing the Sangha Council meeting, organized with pomp and pageantry by the BBS costing millions of rupees on Sunday 28 September 2014 at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Ashin Wirathu, the dreaded leader of the 969 movement, the architect of the massacre of Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims and described by TIME magazine as the “face of the Buddhist terror” told, that his organization 969 would work with the BBS to fight so called Islamic terrorism.

Work together for what? Certainly not to promote Buddhism and establish a better Buddhist society but to kill Muslims, destroy their economies and turn them into a community of beggars as the Zionist sponsored United States led European countries have been doing worldwide, especially in the Middle East, since the collapse of former Soviet Union in 1989.

This unholy BBS-Wirathu alliance spells disaster for Sri Lanka and the island’s besieged Muslim community especially in the context of the ongoing persecution of the island’s Muslims striking at their very survival. This has all the ingredients to turn this island into a killing field once again with unpredictable consequences.

Wirathu Gnanasara

The question is whether the country need or afford such mayhem for the benefit of handful of racists?

Now the question is whether this alliance is to prepare for what Jathika Hela Urumaya’s Udaya Gammanpila predicted as the” inevitable repeat attack on the island’s Muslims in 2015 to commemorate the centenary of 1915 riots”. Perhaps the attacks on Aluthgama, Dharga Town and Beruwala Muslims in June 2014 were trial balloons for what is to come next year?

BBS has already poisoned the Sinhalese minds against Muslims to prepare the climate for such an attack. As part of this program, unnecessarily digging out old wounds, certain section of the local media, increasingly under Sinhala racist and Israeli influence, started publishing articles blaming Muslims for 1915 riots.

While the world is moving ahead under the global economic changes now sweeping all corners of the world to ensure better life for people here in the island few hundreds of Sinhala racist are taking the country back to 1915.

It is common knowledge that the BBS and 969 are sworn enemies of Islam and Muslims.

They are not interested in creating a Buddhist society based on Buddha’s teachings and his message of maithri and karuna. They are not interested in fighting against social evils such as liquor, gambling, casino, corruption, prostitution, declining religious, moral, religious, cultural and family values.

Instead they are busy spreading hatred against Muslims in violation of the very same teachings of Buddha which they claim to protect. Their proven agenda is to demonize Islam, kill Muslims and destroy Muslim societies (and destroy everything that Lord Buddha stood for) as Wirathu had done in Myanmar and BBS is doing in Sri Lanka.

BBS General Secretary Galagoda Atte Gnanasara Thero is not a man of peace. Under normal circumstance where there is rule of law he should have been in custody for his role in the Aluthgama-Dharga Town and Berwala attacks on Muslims which reduced once wealthy families into paupers.

He is a demagogue accused of being behind the hate Muslim campaign that enjoys the support and protection of the state. Their foreign masters, perhaps, provide them with enough of money, training and guidance in their campaign to destroy Muslim societies.

On the other hand Myanmar’s Ashin wirathu and his 969 movement have been responsible for the massacre of Rohingya Muslims, burning of Muslim towns and villages, residential and commercial units besides throwing hundreds of Muslims into the sea where they perished.

This very same Ashin Wirathu was granted an entry visa which was refused to the legendary man of peace Dalai Lama who warned Sri Lanka and Myanmar not to harm Muslim minorities.

All peace loving people were shocked when Wirathu was allowed to enter the soil of Sri Lanka thrice visited by ‘Buddha’.

Several Ministers including Senior Minister A.H.M.Fawzie, Justice Minister Rauff Hakeem and Deputy Minister Faizar Mustapha together with many Muslim organizations pleaded with President Mahinda Rajapaksa not to allow Wirathu to enter this country.

However, these appeals were dismissed and fell on deaf ears –perhaps Ashin Wirathu is more important than the Island’s Muslim community? Wirathu who was given a reception usually meant for heads of states, thanked President Mahinda Rajapaksa for granting him visa to visit Sri Lanka.

The Muslim community in general feel deeply disappointed and disgusted .They accuse Muslim politicians whom they consider as sell outs, so called moulavi thumas who have lost the confidence of the community and the so called prominent Muslims for hobnobbing with the government despite repeated humiliation and threats.

For example Muslim parliamentarians continue to remain constituent members of the government and refuse to raise Muslim issues to ensure the rights, dignity and safety of Muslims.

Our half baked, jet setting and wheeler dealer “moulavi thumas” went all the way to Geneva to defend the government not knowing what they were doing and where they were going .In their keen desire to please the Sinhala leadership these “moulavi thumas” even compromised Islam when they asked Muslims to stop reciting “Qunoot”, the most powerful weapon given by Allah, during times of difficulties.

The government also did not take into consideration the so called prominent Muslims who once invited Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse to discuss Muslim issues in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere but refused to raise any issue stating that “we cannot hurt our guest.”

These very same prominent Muslims who discarded the sufferings and misery of Muslims in aluthgama, Dharga Town and Beruwala attended Iftar parties to please the Sinhala power even before their tears dried.

Despite all these it appears the government has written off the Muslim community.

This is the reality in today’s Sri Lanka which BBS’s once reported to have resigned President Ven Kirama Wimalajothi described as a Sinhala Buddhist country and not a multi religious and multi racial country. The theme of his speech and the Sangha Council itself was open hostility towards Islam and Muslims who were the most peaceful of the three communities as once stated by former Chief Justice Sarath N Silva.

What they failed to realize is the sacrifice Muslims made to ensure the territorial integrity of the country during the three decades of LTTE separatist war. In fact if the Sinhala racists cannot live with the Island’s peaceful Muslim community in harmony, despite continuous state sponsored discrimination, they will never be able to live in peace with anyone in this planet.

In the meeting BBS submitted proposals which could take the country back to medieval age.

Suggested changes included change Sri Lanka to ‘Sinhalay’,State Religion to be ‘Buddhism’, Sinhala to be state language while Tamil and English to be recognized as state communication languages, learning Sinhala, Tamil and English to be compulsory, Sinhala race and Sri Lanka nation to be synonymous, so everyone in Sri Lanka will be called ‘Sinhalese’ and not ‘Sri Lankan’.

The other suggestions were; all minorities to be called ‘Sinhala-Muslim’, ‘Sinhala-Hindu’, ‘Sinhala-Christians’, One Race, One Nation, One Law, change the National Flag to the 1915 National Flag ,National Anthem to be only sung in Sinhala,Vesak to be National Day, do away with the Independence day, Sinhala Buddhism will be the primary culture, minorities will be able to have sub cultures as long as they recognize the Sinhala Buddhism as the primary culture, change the Sri Lanka constitution to be more in line with Buddhist values and do away with European government styles.Sri Lankan leader to be an Executive Prime Minister, but the Executive Presidency need not be abolished within the next 6 years.

This resembles what is going across the sea in India where Sinhala racists’ new found friend fanatically anti Muslim RSS (Rasthriya Swayamsevak Sang) claim that in India “we are all Hindus”.

However BBS suggestions which take the country back to pre medieval age are simply recipe for disaster of an unpredictable consequence. The irony is that they had forgotten even recent history and once again putting innocent people of all communities at loggerheads to fulfill their racist agendas.

The speakers at the Sangha Council meeting manufactured lies to ridicule Islam and demonize Muslims .In doing so they spoke their Zionist –American masters’ language of killing Muslims and blaming the victims of terrorism.

This is typical Zionist and Zionist ruled US-UK and European strategy to associate Muslims with terrorism to justify their invasion of Muslim countries, destroy their infra structure and slaughter Muslim men, women, children and the aged, destroy the society and push them into refugee camps to suffer in abject poverty as they had done and still doing in Iraq and Syria.

Here in the island too powerful forces unleashed a wave of anti Muslim campaign describing them as extremists and terrorist without any shred of evidence although top army and police officials have repeatedly stated that there are no such elements. In fact it was Sinhala extremists, who have attacked Mosques, destroyed Muslim shrines, threw slaughtered pigs into mosque and carried placards with pigs’ faces described as Allah and such hooliganism without the fear of being taken into custody.

No Muslim ever indulged in such hooliganism. However Muslims have been accused of extremism and terrorism.

In this regard it is worthy to recall what Ven. Professor Kotapitiye Rahula Thera, Director of Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies University of Kelaniya told Daily mirror on Wednesday 8 October 2014.

In an interview with Shihara Maduwage Prof Kotapitiya stated;

“Buddhism is one of the oldest and most valuable heritages of Sri Lanka. Today, at a time when there is much hullabaloo about Buddhism being destroyed, it is important to protect the true teachings of the Buddhist philosophy. In the present day, although some, including Buddhist monks, were of the view that Buddhism was slowly disappearing from the world, it was a narrow-minded view.

“A lot of people in this country and even some of the Buddhist clergy are alarmed thinking that Buddhism will lose its value in the world. They are making such a big noise, urging the masses to protect Buddhism and are sometimes even seen acting in rash, unwise and aggressive ways because of their panic. However, these are people who have no idea of what is going on in the world. They think in a very narrow way because they have not seen the world’s reaction to Buddhism. In fact, they are alarmed for no reason at all,” he assured.

He further stated that if anyone wanted to promote and preserve Buddhism, the best way to do so was not holding protests or going on religious rampages but to learn the teachings of Buddhism and study Buddhist philosophy and culture in depth. This was in fact one of the main goals of the PGIPBS – spreading Buddhism to the world through proper, structured education rather than through fear or blind acceptance.

"Adivasis can save planet Earth": National Adivasi Alliance

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Bangalore: 12th October this year was observed as ‘anti-Columbus Day’ in Bangalore by the National Adivasi Alliance along with journalists, lawyers, filmmakers and people from many other walks of life. Calling the so-called ‘discovery of America’ by Christopher Columbus as a day of disaster for indigenous people speakers at the event drew attention also to the plight of Adivasis, the indigenous people of India.

The occasion also saw the release of ‘Forest, Earth, Water, Sky’, a book that gives a history of the Adivasi Sangama movement together with infographics depicting the socio-economic and cultural profile of Adivasi populations in the country.

Cover of 'Forest, Earth, Water, Sky'.

Cover of ‘Forest, Earth, Water, Sky’.

The book was released by Dr. Rajan Gurukkal, former Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and Prof. Muzaffar Azadi from the Department of Political Science, Mysore University. Adivasi activists from Nagarhole, J.K. Thimma and Navitha presented the book to the academicians. Releasing the book, Prof. Rajan Gurukkal said that the condition of the Adivasis in India was shameful and the Adivasis themselves need to lead the movement for their empowerment.

V.S. Roy David, Secretary of the Coorg Organization or Rural Development (CORD), publisher, said that the publication of the ‘Forest, Earth, Water, Sky’ book was part of the Adivasi Sangama movement, which was launched in the early nineties to highlight the problems of the Adivasis. The decision to bring out such a book was taken at the Community Rights Sangama held at Kushalnagar, Karnataka from 9-12 October 2011, that brought the Adivasis, on a common platform, with forest dwellers and fisher people.

Professor Muzaffar Azadi from the department of Political Science, Mysore Univeristy, talked about the importance of documentation of Adivasi resources, particularly land and forests to be able to claim their rights to them through the legal process. J.P.Raju, Convenor of the Indigenous People’s Forum, Karnataka spoke about the neglect of the forest based Adivasi population of the state and their harassment by officials of the forest department. He said the Adivasis of Karnataka will launch a campaign for autonomy to ensure their rights unless the government responded to their long-standing demands.

K.N. Vittal, President of the Budakattu Krishikara Sangha (Tribal Cultivators Association) condemned attempts to force Adivasis to declare themselves to be ‘Hindus’. He said that the identity, culture, languages and way of life of Adivasis was under severe threat from the ideology and political movement of ‘Hindutva’, and this needed to be strongly resisted.

Satya Sagar, who edited the ‘Forest, Earth, Water, Sky’ book, said that Adivasis in India, like other indigenous people around the world, were at the bottom of Indian society in terms of most social and economic indicators. This, he said, was due to the systematic colonization of Adivasis by migrants, settlers and invaders coming into the Indian sub-continent over 5000 years.

According to Sagar it was important to go beyond pointing to data and facts and challenge the crude and racist characterisation of Adivasis by Hindu mythology, which refers to them as ‘rakshasas’. The Ramayana he said was the founding myth of the Aryan settlers who took over the land and resources of the original people of India through a mix of conquest, cooption and compromise.

From the Adivasi point of view all the ‘demons’ of Aryan mythology should be recognised as heroes who defended Adivasi territory and rights whether it be Ravana, Vali or Mahisasura and their tales need to be retold in a new way.

Sagar also pointed out that not only were indigenous people the oldest surviving civilisations on Earth they were also the only ones who could protect the planet from ravages of environmental destruction and urban-industrial ‘civilizations’ created by so called modern cultures. It was time for Adivasis to stop fighting defensive battles and go on the offensive to assert the superiority of their worldview and lifestyles.

Delhi HC notice to Election Commission on plea for MNS' de-recognition

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Raj Thackeray

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Wednesday issued notice to the Election Commission on a plea seeking suspension of recognition of the MNS as a political party for its alleged use of “hate language ” against non-Marathi people on its website.

A division bench of Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice R.S Endlaw sought response from the poll panel by Nov 5.

The court was hearing a petition filed by advocate Mithilesh Kumar Pandey, seeking direction to de-recognize the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for using hate language and for violating the model code of conduct.

The MNS on its website had said: “The MNS will fight to its last breath to eliminate the interference of the non-Marathi power-mongers from outside in the state’s politics and social life, thereby reinforcing the existence of Maharashtra for the Marathi manus (people).”

The plea, filed against the commission, the Maharashtra government, the MNS and Thackeray, said the MNS members have routinely made hate speeches against people from northern India.

“They have disturbed communal harmony by making inflammatory statements against people belonging to different religions/regions and distorted their impression of the Hindu religion/particular region and ideology,” it said.

Pandey told the court that on Aug 26, the poll panel “wrongly” held that MNS cannot be de-recognized as it has already removed the objectionable contents from its website.

The poll panel’s decision came after the court had disposed of Pandey’s similar plea on the issue and asked commission to expeditiously decide his complaint seeking de-recognition of the MNS.

Stop harassment of social activists

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Arun Ferreira

On 1 September 2014, officials of ATS, Pune arrested two social activists viz. Arun Bhelake and Kanchan Nanavare as suspected naxalites in Pune. They were given third degree treatment and made to issue a statement.

This statement, according to civil rights groups and social activists, was used by ATS to “implicate other progressive social activists in this alleged arrest case.” And based on this statements, the activists say, the Bharatiya Republican Paksha Bahujan Mahasangha’s Govandi Corporator Hon. Shri. Arun Kamble, Republican Panther’s Jaatiant Movement’s State President Sharad Gaikwad, Rahul Seva Mandal’s President Shankar Patil, Kabir Kalamach’s Rupali Jadhav from Pune and mass movement’s key members from Pune are being summoned to the ATS office in Pune for “enquiry”.

“They are made to sit at the office for the entire day after which their statements are recorded. They are being called to the ATS office multiple times for interrogation and the same questions are repeated, again and again. While a person is expected to cooperate with the authorities for an enquiry for a legitimate case, but ordering them to come to Pune every now and then, under the pretext of enquiry and making them confess as per incorrect statements under coercion can be considered as mental harassment of activists in Maharashtra.”

“These activists are being asked to disclose name, address and contact details of other members from the above mentioned organisations. Some of persons are names who are not even remotely connected with this case nor have any summons been issued or pending against them. This act of ATS is an attempt to intimidate the members of these organisations and members of civil society.”

Harassment of Sudhir Dhawale

“On 15 May 2014, after 40 months, Gondia Session Court acquitted Sudhir Dhawale, the Editor of Vidrohi (a bimonthly magazine) and member of Republic Panthers, however, the police continues to harass him. On the 28 September, the police entered his Govandi residence and conducted a search without any warrant nor summons. After which they interrogated him. The police bundled him into a van and escorted him to Deonar police station; they confiscated his mobile phone. After which Dhawale was made to give a written statement and mentally harassed him.”

“This constant harassment of members of these organisations and senior social activists by the police, under the pretext of alleged enquiry must be vehemently protested by all progressive thinkers, intellectuals, artists and social organisations,” say the activists.

“Elections are conducted regularly, and our votes are meant to change governments. This gives us the illusion of a democratic country. However, we can see an invisible emergency-like situation which is prevalent. It is an absurd situation where our country’s Constitution confers the freedom of expression on us but the reality is, there is suppression of expression. Not just that citizens are systematically harassed by the police for adhering to a particular ideology.”

The undersigned activists have demanded that the:

  • Definition of Terrorism should be clarified post 9/11
  • Intimidation of social activists by the police should cease, immediately
  • Mental harassment of members must be stopped, immediately
  • We must have the right to raise our voice against anti-democratic elements

Riyadh gunman who shot two American defense contractors has criminal record

October 16, 2014 by Nasheman

Abdul Aziz Al-Rashid

– by Siraj Wahab, Arab News

Jeddah: The man responsible for shooting two American defense contractors near King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on Tuesday has been identified as Abdul Aziz Al-Rashid, a US-born Saudi national. One American died while the other was unharmed.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said the 24-year-old Al-Rashid worked with American defense contractor Vinnell Arabia before he was sacked for drug-related issues. Both Americans worked at Vinnell Arabia.

The shooting took place at a gas station close to the company’s base. Security forces arrived quickly on the scene and apprehended Al-Rashid following an exchange of fire in which he was wounded.

According to a report on Al-Arabiya television’s website, Al-Rashid has a criminal record. American police reportedly arrested him for driving under the influence of banned substances in Boise, Idaho, in mid-2011.

Al-Turki said nothing in Al-Rashid’s record indicated any affiliation with any extremist group.

Vinnell Arabia operates under a longstanding contract to provide training services to the Saudi National Guard.

A statement posted on Saudi Embassy’s website in Washington said Al-Rashid traveled to the US, France, Germany, the UAE and, most recently to, Bahrain in October 2014.

“The investigation is ongoing and the relevant authorities will reveal details as they emerge,” said the statement.

American expatriates in the Kingdom expressed relief at the immediate arrest of the man.

“If what we have been told is correct, then it is comforting to know that this act was not related to terrorism,” said Stephen Johnson, a consultant with a petrochemical company. “Saudi security forces have been rather swift in arresting the man.”

He said he was swamped with calls from home to enquire about his well-being. “My folks were naturally concerned after hearing it on television, and I told them everything is fine,” he said.

As a sign of confidence, the US Embassy in Riyadh posted a message for its citizens on its website on Wednesday stating: “As of 12 noon Wednesday, the embassy authorizes its personnel to resume movements off of the Diplomatic Quarter. The investigation into Tuesday’s shooting of US citizens is ongoing.”

The embassy advised its citizens “to maintain vigilance and employ good security awareness.”

Zionist group publishes target list of “anti-Israel” U.S professors

October 15, 2014 by Nasheman

A display at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign protests the firing of Steven Salaita and limits on academic freedom.

A display at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign protests the firing of Steven Salaita and limits on academic freedom.

– by Ali Abunimah, Electronic Intifada

The Amcha Initiative, the Zionist organization that has repeatedly intimidated, spied on and harassed students and faculty, appears to be escalating its campaign by publishing what amounts to a target list of “anti-Israel” professors.

Amcha says that the list is made up of “218 professors identifying themselves as Middle East scholars, who recently called for the academic boycott of Israel in a petition.”

It links to an item at Jadaliyya titled “Over 100 Middle East Studies Scholars and Librarians Call for the Boycott of Israeli Academic Institutions.”

“Students who wish to become better educated on the Middle East without subjecting themselves to anti-Israel bias, or possibly even antisemitic rhetoric, may want to check which faculty members from their university are signatories before registering,” Amcha says.

It urges people to “Share this list with your family, friends, and associates via email, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, or word-of-mouth.”

“Thank you for your actions to protect Jewish students!,” Amcha’s posting concludes.

In the wake of the University of Illinois’ firing of American Indian Studies professor Steven Salaita over his opinions critical of Israel, Amcha’s move can be seen as a renewed effort at intimidation.

Amcha states that it is “troubling” that “many of these patently biased boycotters of Israel are affiliated with government-designated, taxpayer-funded National Resource Centers (NRC) on their campuses.”

It alleges that those pledging to boycott Israeli institutions complicit in Israeli crimes against Palestinians “have violated both the letter and spirit of the federal law which funds their teaching and research.”

Anti-Palestinian groups have previously tried to use the presence of public funding as a pretext to try to suppress free speech and academic freedom.

In one such effort tied to Amcha, a pro-Israel group tried repeatedly to persuade the State of California and other government bodies to prosecute California mathematics professor David Klein for supposedly “misusing” state resources by using his university-hosted personal website to criticize Israel and call for boycott.

Amcha’s claim that disseminating a list of professors calling for Israel to be held accountable can somehow “protect Jewish students” is based on the anti-Semitic stereotype that Israel represents all Jews and that all Jews identify with Israel or are collectively responsible for its actions.

This is exactly this kind of bogus association that lay behind the University of Illinois officials’ justifications for their firing of Salaita.

What is Amcha?

Amcha was founded by Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, a Hebrew lecturer at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Rossman-Benjamin is a notorious anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim activist with a history of litigious threats against students and faculty.

An exclusive investigation by The Electronic Intifada earlier this year revealed that Amcha had infiltrated a student trip to Palestine in 2012, confirming long-held activist suspicions that anti-Palestinian political groups are spying on student activists.

An attorney told The Electronic Intifada that such surveillance could be in violation of several laws.

Rossman-Benjamin herself has been caught on video making virulently racist statements against students involved in Palestine solidarity activism on campus.

But despite protests by students, the University of California has taken no action in response to Rossman-Benjamin’s activities.

This type of complicity by university administrations has sadly been the norm and undoubtedly emboldens groups like Amcha to escalate their attacks on academic freedom and those who practice it.

NATO airstrike kills seven civilians in Southern Afghanistan

October 15, 2014 by Nasheman

NATO labels all slain ‘enemy combatants’.

– by Jason Ditz, AntiWar.com

Protests erupted in the Paktia Province of Afghanistan today after an overnight NATO airstrike killed seven civilians, including a nine-year-old child. Deputy Governor Abdul Walisahl confirmed the incident.

The provincial government has announced a thorough investigation, and says that the slain were gathering firewood on a mountainside for the approaching winter at the time of the attack.

NATO, as usual, dismissed the allegations as untrue, but offered no explanation for the seven civilian bodies obviously killed in airstrikes. They insisted the attack on the mountainside killed eight “enemy combatants.”

As the first major civilian killings since the inauguration, there has been a conspicuous lack of comment from President Ashraf Ghani. His predecessor, Hamid Karzai, regularly condemned such killings, despite the fact that such criticism made him unpopular with NATO.

United Nations turning into NATO tool of aggressions

October 15, 2014 by Nasheman

United Nations

– by Ramsey Clark

What happens in the international community is not by chance, and what happened In Libya is not by chance, what is happening in Syria and Iran is not by chance. And what is happening in Syria and Iran?

Who is behind the acts of terrorism? What is behind the assassinations and murder of intellectuals and high-ranking officials in both countries? We are building up to what, exactly? And where is the truth in the international press?

As usual, the obedient press, along with the U.N. Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has managed to come up with the same goods time and time again and so long as a gullible public, obediently swayed to where it is supposed to be by swallowing the tidy controlled media package daily, it is going to work: public opinion will acquiesce to the schemes of the arms and energy and banking lobbies which control Washington, and by proxy, NATO and the USA’s allies.

What you also do not know is that the squeaky-clean media package placed before you daily in your nice crisp newspaper or your TV News is the result of a process of sinister manipulation — brainwashing. How many people were informed of Colonel Gaddafi’s positive humanitarian record – for which he was to receive an award from the UN in March 2011?

How many people knew he was spending his time trying to reduce casualties among the terrorists attacking his country to the minimum, negotiating with them before an attack took place? Who informed the readers that NATO broke the rules, broke international law, supported terrorists on their own proscribed lists and committed acts of murder and war crimes? Now let us move on to Syria and Iran.

Where are the stories about the mass acts of murder inside both countries, taking out Generals, strategists and high-ranking politicians and scientists? Who is perpetrating these evil deeds, who are these terrorists? Why are these acts being committed? The answer is perfectly simple. Syria is the last frontier between sanity and a balanced international community, a world ruled by the forces of right and reason and good, and the Satanic desires of the evil and invisible lobbies which are currently in power in Washington, and which in turn control the foreign policy of its allies.

We are speaking here of those responsible for torture, for maintaining concentration camps such as Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, those who urinate on dead, commit acts of sodomy on prisoners, those responsible for torture, for maintaining concentration camps such as Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, who detain persons without due process, without the right to a lawyer, to an accusation or a trial, who commit rape and murder, who break international law, who breach the UN Charter and Geneva Conventions and commit war crimes. And this same evil clique is now swinging into action in the Middle East.

First objective: Lebanon and Syria; second objective: The Islamic republic of Iran; third objective: the resources of Central Asia, leading to direct confrontation with Russia and the People’s Republic of China, which passes by installing Washington-friendly regimes in all these countries so that guess who can siphon off the resources? This is why Syria is the final frontier, this is why Syria must resist the intrusion of enslaved by NATO Arab League and this is why Syria must destroy the demonic elements running amok inside the country committing acts of arson, butchery, terrorism, vandalism, murder and torture.

It is not difficult to stir up trouble, take advantage of internal divisions, divide and rule and reap the consequences from the chaos that is sown. That is exactly what the West has been doing for hundreds of years and continues to do today. It has to do not with freedom and democracy – why did NATO not allow the Libyan Jamahiriya government to hold an election? It has to do with control of resources and guaranteeing that the US dollar is used as the international currency in major deals, and that includes oil. Why is it that when a country threatens to swap the USD for another currency in its dealings, it is invaded?

As for what we can do, the bottom line is keep informed and hold the politicians responsible for their actions. Democracy does have a fatal fault for those who try to manipulate it, and that is the fact that the power lies ultimately in the hands of the people. Bring international policy onto the political agenda and don’t let them lie to you and fool you about what is really going on. If you really feel your vote makes a difference, then create the conditions for this to be the case. Let us use citizen power to avoid World War Three. After all those who push for it, will their sons be on the front line? Would anyone survive?
