Secular Democratic Congress (SDC) Held a Massive Protest March Against Destructive Demonetization

A Protest March Was Held By The Secular Democratic Congress Party Against The 2nd Anniversary Of The Demonetization Scheme Imposed By The Central Government 2 Years Ago

A protest march was held by the newly formed Secular Democratic Congress party this morning near Mysore Bank Circle. The members of the party were, R A Janab (Karnataka State President), Rizwan Asad (Spokesperson), Marziya Begum (Mahila President), Munniswamy (General Secretary) & the other party leaders & workers.
There was a huge gathering & the members of the Secular Democratic Congress party kicked off the protest march by shouting slogans against the Central Government regarding the demonetization scheme.
http://nasheman.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/WhatsApp-Video-2018-11-08-at-1.12.38-PM.mp4
The members felt that the so called demonetization scheme, heralded by none other than our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has effected everyone whatsoever. And moreover it has benefitted no one.
On this occasion R A Janab said, “After the imposition of the demonetization scheme, the people of the entire country suffered a lot, as the prices of the domestic goods especially Gas, Diesel & Petrol (GDP also stands for gross domestic goods) –  sky rocketed.  2 years back Narendra Modi had made a lot of promises in which he failed. He had asked for just 50 days but now more than 700 days have passed & nothing has happened.”
http://nasheman.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/WhatsApp-Video-2018-11-08-at-6.27.03-PM.mp4
On the same occasion Rizwan Asad said, “As soon as this so called demonetization scheme was implemented a lot of tight financial situation arose & needless to say that it was the innocent citizens of India who had to bear all the consequences of it. There was no business in all the sectors. And moreover the economically backward common people suffered a lot even for their basic needs. And the worst of all was that the prices of Gas, diesel & Petrol were hiked like anything, while the Dollars valuation came down. The only solution is that all the people have to come forward & fight & strongly protest against this. It is only such protests which will create a perfect awareness amongst the people.”
http://nasheman.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/WhatsApp-Video-2018-11-08-at-11.20.19-AM.mp4
And in the end Marziya Begum averred, “Actually speaking the demonetization scheme has had the worst effect for the uneducated & common people. They were all stuck in this mess because they did not know how to get back their own hard earned money in exchange for the new currency from the bank. Indeed they had to stand for long hours in the serpentine queues for this purpose. So can the so called Central Government & even Mr. Narendra Modi has any answer for that?

During the Q&A session, audiences & members were curious to know the idea behind presenting the lead actress Khushboo Upadhyay’s character as someone who is dark skinned & not conventionally good looking. They were also keen to know whether this made her conscious as a performer.
“As an actor, I am not conscious at all. I never think about whether I am looking good or not. I just concentrate on whether I will be able to portray the character or not. If the character is reflected through my performance, then my job is done.” said Khushboo Updhayay.
“As a society, we still have so many preconceived notions of beauty, which creates a complex amongst those whom may not be considered good looking as per these norms. This begins while people are in school & gradually develops into something very negative.” said Aadish Keluskar.
Talking about the sexual violence depicted in the film, Aadish Keluskar said, “The sexual violence shown in the film was deliberate. In real life, there are lot of instances of cases of domestic violence in which the victims take their case back fearing the repercussions & an attachment they have with their perpetrator who uses it to their advantage. If you look around, you will see a lot of people who are in such toxic relationships and I felt that had to be addressed somewhere in the film.”
During Q&A, producer Vinay Mishra was asked about why they chose to produce the film to which he said, “Only 9 people have made the film. If you have the conviction to make your film & you know that you can make it despite several constraints, then there are people who would be willing to take that chance with you. One could have had disagreements with Aadish Keluskar but he had complete clarity about what he wanted to do.”
Director Aadish Keluskar who was delighted with the response received by Jaaon Kahan Bata Ae Dil at its World Premiere said, “There are a lot of thoughts in your head which keep taking the form of a screenplay & after that you keep taking them to the filmmaking process through shooting & editing before finally showing it to audiences. If audiences are actively engaging with the film then it’s a good feeling. If you have conveyed even 50% of what you felt and you know that it is going to live amongst the viewers, then you truly feel that your job is done.”
Khushboo Upadhyay, the lead actress of the film said, “It was a challenging role but there was also a lot of fun in doing it. The challenge was to make audiences connect with my character emotionally without making her come across as someone who is unattractive or unappealing.”
Rohit Kokate, the lead actor of the film said, “I loved the character, the way he talks & functions. The film is mostly about 2 characters, that of me & Khushboo. The manner in which the film plays around with our characters is what intrigued me & made me say yes to the film.”
Talking about the feedback received by the film at its World Premiere, Vinay Mishra founder of Humaramovie & one of the producer of Jaaon Kahan Bata Ae Dil said, “This was the 1st ever screening of Jaaon Kahan Bata Ae Dil & the response it received was nothing short of amazing. I know that people were shocked, they were offended, they were repulsed. But, they were also mesmerized, they were awed & they made a connection with the film!  They felt it was real & they knew these people on screen. Overall, I was happy to see that they sat up & took note of the film in such a great way”
Director Sudhir Mishra while talking about the film says, “This is a very brave film which pushes boundaries, really liked it”
Actor Vivek Mushran gave thumps up to the film saying, “It’s a very good film, Independent cinema at its best”
Born in Konkan, Aadish Keluskar grew up in Mumbai. He graduated in Journalism while working as a reporter in different News Channels & Newspapers during graduation. After his graduation, he got in Film & Television Institute of India specializing in Film Direction & Advanced Screenwriting Course. While studying for Final Year he made his 1st ever independent feature film and dropped from the course before completing post-graduation. Jaaon Kahan Bata Ae Dil is his 2nd Feature Film.

Manoj Bajpayee’s Bhonsle was greeted with a packed house at the India Premiere of the film at 20th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival With Star.

The film which has been directed by Devashish Makhija had been selected for the India Story section at the festival.
Audiences flocked to the venue of PVR Icon in Andheri where the premiere of the film was held.
The premiere of the film was attended by Manoj Bajpayee, Devashish Makhija, producers Abhayanand Singh (of Indie Muviz), Sandiip Kapur (of Promodome Motion Pictures) & writer Mirat Trivedi (who has co-written the film with Devashish Makhija & Sharanya Rajgopal)
In the film, Manoj Bajpayee plays the titular role of Bhonsle – a terminally ill lone wolf Maharashtrian cop who has retired against his will, in a politically tumultuous Mumbai. Bhonsle finds himself forging an unlikely companionship with a 23 year old North-Indian girl & her little brother, while the raging conflict destroying the world around them reaches his doorstep, giving him one last battle worth fighting for, but it might just be too late.

The film reunites director Devashish Makhija, producer Indie Muviz & Manoj Bajpayee, the trio behind the highly acclaimed short film Taandav. Manoj Bajpayee had bagged the “Best Actor” award for the short film at the Filmfare Awards 2016.

The film also features a stellar cast which includes Marathi star Santosh Juvekar, theatre thespian Ipshita Chakraborty Singh & debutante child artist Virat Vaibhav.

The film is produced by Manoj Bajpayee Productions, Golden Ratio Films, Promodome Motion Pictures & Indie Muviz
The premiere of the film was followed by Q&A with director Devashish Makhija & Manoj Bajpayee which was moderated by writer & filmmaker Vasan Bala whose film Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota opened this year’s edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival With Star.
Vasan Bala pointed out that the character of the cop in Bhonsle doesn’t speak a lot unlike the cops shown usually in popular Hindi films such as Zanjeer & Bajpayee’s own Shool & lets his silences speak.
Manoj Bajpayee said that the character of Bhonsle represents the sentiments of today’s people & the times we live in. “Bhonsle’s silence conveys the depression & the hopelessness experienced by today’s generation. These are the people who have lost hopes from life completely and somewhere they feel they have failed themselves.”
The actor said that he & Devashish had been working on the film for over 4 years and it got made due to the efforts of Sandiip Kapur, Abhayanand Singh & Piiyush Singh who chose to go to with his & Devashish’s vision & backed the film.
“I can’t think of any other actor who would have fought the way Manoj did to get Bhonsle made.” said Devashish Makhija

Manoj Bajpayee who was glad to have Bhonsle’s India Premiere at 20th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival With Star said, “It’s always a great feeling to show your film to movie lovers in your own country & get their responses. The India premiere at MAMI is an important milestone in the festival journey of the film. I am glad to return to MAMI with Bhonsle after Aligarh & Gali Guleiyan.”
Director Devashish Makhija who was equally excited about the premiere says, “MAMI has been a burst of energy with insanely long lines & high on passion viewers. The demand & response for Bhonsle has been manic & overwhelming. This kind of response makes the effort of making such a film worth it.”
Piiyush Singh, the producer of Bhonsle & founder of Indie Muviz says, “We are very excited with the response received by Bhonsle at MAMI. It’s a premium fest in India & such feedback encourages us as a production house to continue making such films which speak a global language.”
Sandiip Kapur, the founder of Promodome Motion Pictures & producer of Bhonsle says, “It’s a huge privilege that Bhonsle has been selected in MAMI. There are a few things bigger than this for an independent filmmaker like me. I am feeling great & extremely proud of my entire team which includes Manoj Bajpayee, Devashish Makhija, the technicians and many others who have worked on the film. I would like to thank everyone & above all MAMI.”

Music: Manan Shah, Badshah, Rishi Rich & Prasad Sashte

Times have really changed when it comes to women
Empowerment & gradually, the people on the whole are realizing that equal opportunities are a must for people of all the gender. Yet, a lot needs to be done especially in the places which are away from the mega cities. Namaste England, which marks the return of Vipul Shah as a director after 8 years, throws light on this aspect and also promises to be a beautiful love story. Moreover, it’s the 2nd film in the franchise, the 1st ever being the much loved Namastey London released in the year 2007, starring Akshay Kumar & Katrina Kaif.

The scripted scenario of Namaste England reveals that it is the story of a couple torn between love & their dreams. Param (Arjun Kapoor) & Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) reside in a tiny village in Punjab. Both fall for each other. Meanwhile, Jasmeet, who’s interested in jewellery designing, gets a job in Amritsar. She has to work there for 3 days a week. Jasmeet’s grandfather (Shivendra Mahal) is strictly against women working. So Jasmeet hides this bit from him but one day the truth comes out. Param at this point asks Jasmeet to get married to him and asserts that she can work then without any problem. Param’s family visits Jasmeet’s house to ask her hand in marriage. Jasmeet’s grandfather agrees but he has a condition, Jasmeet should not work once she ties the knot. Both ultimately get married and a year later, Jasmeet meets her friend Harpreet (Mallika Dua). She lives in UK with her husband and is very happy & settled. Seeing her, Jasmeet gets a desire to leave India and settle in England so that she can work there and have an independent life. Param is even ready to move there with her and his father also has no issue. The issue however is that Param can’t go out of India. On his wedding day, Param has an altercation with his friend Gurpreet (Anjum Batra), who’s well connected, and the latter vows that he’ll not let Param get a visa of Europe, where the couple was planning a honeymoon. Jasmeet hence devises a plan, she’ll move to UK alone at first and after securing residency, she’ll be entitled to let Param enter UK. Param is fine with the arrangement. However, Jasmeet hasn’t been completely truthful to him. What happens next forms the crux of the rest of the film.

Ritesh Shah & Suresh Nair’s story is very weak and silly and rests on a wafer thin plot. The story has too many flaws. Ritesh Shah & Suresh Nair’s screenplay is juvenile and does nothing to hide these glitches. It’s shocking that the duo is associated with some fine films of recent times like Airlift (2016), D-Day (2013), Raid (2018), Mardaani (2014) & even Namastey London and yet they collectively penned this apology of a script. Ritesh Shah & Suresh Nair’s dialogues are also terrible & outdated.

Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s direction is haywire and it seems like he has lost his touch. The scenes begin & end all of a sudden and he tries to incorporate a lot. He also tries to repeat the magic of Namastey London, be it during the intermission point or during the scene where Param delivers a patriotic speech. But while the latter sequence was powerful in Namastey London and is still remembered today, the one in Namaste England looks forced.

Namaste England has a bit of an awkward beginning. The lovers are shown meeting each other during varied seasons and it takes a while to understand that. At this point, Param forces his friend to marry a girl from Jasmeet’s group just so that he gets a chance to meet Jasmeet again! This scene itself gives viewers an idea that this film is not going to make any sense. The entire bit of Jasmeet’s grandfather refusing her to work even after marriage seems unconvincing but works nevertheless. But the scene that doesn’t work at all in this hour is Gurpreet’s drama at the wedding. Param-Jasmeet’s romance post marriage is cute and the scenes of Gurnaam (Satish Kaushik) help in keeping the interest going although the film has still not gone on a high. The intermission point comes across as a shocker but not for the right reasons. The 1st ever half comes across as disappointing while post interval, the film falls further. Param entering UK illegally is an engaging scene but doesn’t make any sense. Even worse is Param pretending to marry Alisha (Alankrita Sahai). These scenes, besides being nonsensical, are not even funny or moving. Also the film gives a very wrong message and tries to project that immigration is a bad idea and that’s certainly not true. Also, the film ends at an abrupt point and all the conflicts of the film don’t end even when the credits roll.
Mannan Shaah’s music is okay with some songs working while the others being a disappointment. “Dhoom Dhadakka” is very catchy & foot-tapping. “Tere Liye” comes next. Bhare Bazaar” doesn’t work and it’s abruptly cut into half. Prasad Sashte’s background score is over dramatic. Yiannis Manolopoulos’s cinematography is appropriate but nothing special. Sriram Kannan Iyengar & Sujeet Sawant’s production design looks superficial, especially the houses in Punjab village. Aki Narula, Sanjana Batra & Gayatri Thadani’s costumes are nothing special initially but the ones worn by Parineeti in England scenes are appealing. Amitabh Shukla’s editing is horrible.

Performance wise this isn’t Arjun Kapoor’s best act & his performance leaves a lot to be desired. He looks haggard & a bit overweight in some scenes. Parineeti Chopra is however better and puts up a great act. Sadly, she is letdown by terrible writing. Aditya Seal as Sam has a fine screen presence and makes an impact. Alankrita Sahai as Alisha, last seen in the recently-released web film Love Per Square Foot, looks sizzling and does fine. Satish Kaushik is over the top and the way he says “Darling” in every sentence is not funny. Same with Shreya Mehta as Mitthi who makes a sound at the end of each sentence, a la Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Kick (2014)! But she puts a confident act. Anil Mange as Iqbal Khan is decent.
On the whole: Namaste England is an extremely poor fare and is riddled with a terrible script & a juvenile screenplay.

Tail Piece: At the box office turnstiles, Namaste England will face a tough time and will not find favor with the audience.
