A furious Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reportedly expressed his displeasure with Akash Vijayvargiya, the son of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is out on bail after being arrested for assaulting an official with a cricket bat last week. PM Modi said at a meeting that such people should be expelled from the party, “no matter whose son”, without exception, according to party leaders.

“The PM was very upset. He said nobody has any right to misbehave or take the party for a ride or show arrogance in public. He used a very strong statement and said that any such act is unacceptable,” BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy told NDTV after the meeting of the BJP parliamentary party.

Akash Vijayvargiya, 34, was garlanded by supporters as he stepped out of prison on bail.

Akash Vijayvargiya – a first-time party lawmaker – had assaulted a civic official with a cricket bat in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore last Wednesday. In a video clip shown on TV channels, the 34-year-old was seen chasing the official with the bat and beating him in the presence of policemen, who did nothing. A video of the dramatic scenes was shared widely on social media.

The official was working as part of a team removing encroachments when he was attacked by Akash Vijayvargiya, 34, and his supporters.

Mr Vijayvargiya had justified himself saying the officials had dragged and verbally abused women occupants of a residential building.

BJP legislator Akash Vijayvargiya thrashed an Indore civic body official with a cricket bat last week.

His father Kailash Vijayvargiya, a veteran BJP leader, had downplayed his son’s offence, calling him “kachha khiladi” or a “novice” and insisting that it wasn’t a “big issue”.

Akash Vijayvargiya, who was arrested after the attack, received a grand welcome from his family and supporters as he walked out of a prison on Sunday. Kailash Vijayvargiya, too, was present outside the jail where his son was garlanded by supporters as he stepped out. Supporters even fired shots in the air to celebrate his bail.71 COMMENTS

Mr Vijayvargiya was unapologetic. “I am not guilty or embarrassed about what I did as it was in public interest… I pray to god that I should not be given another opportunity to pick up the bat (I pray to god ki vo dobara ballebazi karne ka avsar na de),” he said after stepping out of prison.

Former foreign secretary S Jaishankar, a surprise pick in Narendra Modi’s council of ministers, is a seasoned diplomat who was the Indian government’s pointsman for China and the US.

Mr Jaishankar, son of late K Subrahmanyam, one of India’s leading strategic analysts, was a key member of the Indian team which negotiated the landmark Indo-US nuclear deal.

The deal, initiated in 2005, took several years to craft, and was signed by the UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh in 2007.

Mr Jaishankar’s appointment as foreign secretary in January 2015 had evoked a sharp reaction from various quarters over the timing of the government”s decision to remove Sujatha Singh.

The 64-year-old had earlier served as India’s Ambassador to the US and before that to China.

A 1977-batch IFS officer, Mr Jaishankar played a key role in resolving the crisis following the incursion in Ladakh’s Depsang and the Doklam stand-off, handling the tough negotiations with Beijing.

Among other positions, Mr Jaishankar has been India’s High Commissioner to Singapore and Ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Last year, Tata Group appointed Mr Jaishankar, who was Indian foreign secretary from January 2015 to January 2018, as its president for global corporate affairs, within three months of his retirement from the government service.

A graduate of St Stephen’s College, Mr Jaishankar is an MA in Political Science and an MPhil and PhD in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Mr Jaishankar is married to Kyoko Jaishankar and has two sons and a daughter.

In 2019, Mr Jaishankar was conferred with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of the country.

The BJP’s surprise pick – Om Birla – is all set to become next Lok Sabha Speaker after his candidature on Tuesday was backed by all NDA allies as also by the YSR Congress Party, the Biju Janata Dal and key opposition parties, including the Congress.

A notice was given to the Lok Sabha Secretariat by the BJP, proposing the name of Om Birla, a two-time MP from Kota-Bundi seat in Rajasthan, for the Speaker’s post and bringing a motion for his election, which will be held on Wednesday.

As per sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed 57-year-old Birla’s name for the post. The Rajasthan leader is considered to be close to both PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

BJD, YSRCP, JDU, Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, National People’s Party, Mizo National Front, Lok Janshakti Party, AIADMK and Apna Dal have given the notice to support Mr Birla’s candidature for the Speaker’s post, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told reporters.

Later, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said the party and the UPA allies have also decided to support Mr Birla’s candidature as the Speaker.

Mr Chowdhury also said the Congress has already moved a motion supporting the ruling party candidate.

The decision to support Om Birla’s nomination was taken at a meeting of the UPA allies, where the leaders also discussed the opposition strategy during the Parliament session.

Om Birla, who won his first Lok Sabha election in 2014 and was re-elected from Rajasthan’s Kota-Bundi seat. He defeated Congress’s Ramnaraian Meena with a margin of over 2.5 lakh votes in the recently concluded general elections.

He has also been elected to Rajasthan assembly for three consecutive terms in 2003, 2008 and 2013.

Om Birla will succeed eight-term MP Sumitra Mahajan as the Speaker, a post traditionally held by senior MPs.

However, this will not be for the first time a relative newcomer will hold the position. In 1996, TDP leader G M C Balayogi was also a two-time MP when he was elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker and after his death in a helicopter crash in 2002, Shiv Sena leader and first-time MP Manohar Joshi was appointed to the position.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday said that a Bengaluru Development Authority engineer was taken into custody and important documents were seized from his possession in connection with the alleged IMA Jewels financial fraud case.

The head of probe team said they searched three Frontline Pharma shops owned by the IMA Jewels in Bengaluru and seized pharmacy and electronic items worth Rs. 70 lakh along with Rs. 4.4 lakh cash.

“The SIT searched three Frontline Pharma shops owned by IMA and seized pharmacy and electronic items worth Rs. 70 lakh along with Rs. 4.4 lakh cash. A Bengaluru Development Authority engineer was taken into custody and important documents were recovered from him,” he said.

IMA has allegedly cheated a large number of investors, mainly Muslims, after promising them impressive return on their deposits.

IMA founder Mansoor Khan, who is on the run, released a video urging police to arrange his return to India so that he could join the probe.

He disappeared earlier this month after sending an audio clip to some investors threatening to commit suicide due to what he alleged was “harassment” by some politicians and goons.

The SIT had earlier conducted a raid at his office and seized jewellery worth Rs. 20 crore. It had arrested the firm’s auditor Iqbal Khan and seven directors of different entities linked to Khan.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also issued summons to the IMA founder directing him to appear before the agency on June 24, but he failed to appear as he is believed to be in a foreign country.

Over 25,000 complaints have been filed against the company.

Karnataka Congress: Anand Singh resigned first, and hours later Ramesh Jarkiholi gave his resignation to the Speaker

Two Congress legislators in Karnataka put in their papers today, in fresh trouble for the ruling Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition in the state. Anand Singh resigned first, and hours later Ramesh Jarkiholi gave his resignation to the Speaker.

While the Congress has yet to confirm his resignation, Mr Singh says that he has quit and went to meet the Governor. A senior Congress leader termed his exit “shocking”.

The Congress and the JD(S) are wary of a potential revival of what is referred to as “Operation Lotus”. The term was first used in 2008, when the BJP was accused of inciting several opposition legislators to defect to ensure the stability of its government headed by BS Yeddyurappa.

“I have submitted by resignation as the people of my constituency are agitated over the government’s approval to lease out government land to the Jindals,” Anand Singh told reporters. The state assembly speaker’s office confirmed receiving the legislator’s letter on Monday afternoon.

With two lawmakers gone from the Congress, the party will be down to 77 members in the assembly. The JDS-Congress alliance has 116 lawmakers in the 224-member Karnataka assembly where the majority mark is 113. The BJP has 105, BSP has one and there is one independent.

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is currently in the US on a private visit. “I’m at Kalabhairaveshwara temple foundation laying ceremony (in New Jersey). I’m watching TV channels. Destabilising government continues to be a daydream of BJP,” Mr Kumaraswamy tweeted.

The BJP in Karnataka is keeping a close watch. “Even I have heard about his (Anand Singh’s) resignation through media. We don’t want to destabilise the government… If the government falls on own its own, we will explore the possibilities of forming the new government but there is no question of fresh elections,” Karnataka BJP chief and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa said.

“Anand Singh resignation is shocking to me… I spoke to the Chief Minister. There is no problem in the coalition government,” senior Karnataka Congress leader and minister DK Shivakumar said.

Anand Singh, the legislator from Vijayanagar, was hospitalised earlier this year after he was allegedly thrashed and abused by another lawmaker during their stay at a resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru where Congress legislators had been taken for safe-keeping.

It was said that Mr Singh had been involved in dissident activity but that he was convinced to stay with the party at that time.

The Congress has been fighting dissidence since the beginning of the year, with several Congress legislators openly critical of the party and staying away from legislature party meets that had been called.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the BJP’s membership drive from Varanasi on July 6 during which, he told party workers, at least five trees should be planted in every booth across the country.

He also told party lawmakers that if anybody brings a bad name to the organisation with their conduct, then it is “unacceptable”, party sources said.

PM Modi’s comments assume significance as they come in the wake of the arrest of senior party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya’s lawmaker son Akash Vijayvargiya for allegedly attacking a government official with a cricket bat.

PM Modi was felicitated by senior party leaders in the first BJP parliamentary party meeting after the recent Lok Sabha polls during which he had led the BJP to a big win. Party chief Amit Shah and its working president JP Nadda were also felicitated, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told reporters.

In his address, PM Modi asked party lawmakers to ensure their presence in parliament during the ongoing session and added that they should also dedicate themselves to people’s service so that they are known for what they have done for the masses, Mr Joshi said.

PM Modi will launch the membership drive on July 6, the birth anniversary of BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Mr Shah will kick off the membership drive in Telangana and other party leaders in different parts of the country.

An FIR was registered against Samajwadi Party (SP) lawmaker Azam Khan on Monday for allegedly making derogatory remarks against BJP leader Jaya Prada. Ten other SP leaders have also been named in the FIR.

On June 30, Azam Khan, while addressing the electorate for the first time since his win in the Lok Sabha elections, kicked up another row by allegedly using foul language against Jaya Prada.

The FIR has been registered for obscene acts and intentional insult.

During the Lok Sabha elections too Azam Khan was banned from campaigning for 72 hours by the Election Commission for his remarks against Jaya Prada.

“I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face, but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear,” Mr Khan had said while campaigning in Rampur during Lok Sabha elections.

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Azam Khan defeated Jaya Prada to win the Rampur Lok Sabha seat.

The clueless murder case has been detected by Kengeri police and all the five accused has been arrested within 48 hours. 
The Kengeri Police Inspector Ramappa B Gutter,and his team has detected the clueless murder case within 48 hours and arrested a 45-year-old woman for allegedly contracting her brother’s murder by hiring four contract killers in order to stop her daughter’s wedding. 
The prime accused has been arrested and the accused has been identified as , Gowramma,45,a resident of Maruthinagar,for allegedly killing his own brother by the contract killers identified as Mumtaz,28,resident of Raichur,Munna,22,resident of Koppal,Arju,19,and Sakeeb,19,both resident of West Bengal all the five have been booked for murder.
Investigating officer told,Gowramma has a 23-year-old daughter. Rajashekar had introduced her to one of his friends four months ago and the two fell in love. Rajashekar also supported them when they decided to get married. They were also engaged for three months. But Gowramma did not want her daughter to marry for love.She wanted her to marry a man she chose, Gowramma had allegedly tried to separate the couple on multiple occasions in the past and had failed because of Rajashekar’s intervention. On June 20, Gowramma allegedly approached her neighbour Mumtaz and is said to have asked her to hire men to kill Rajashekar.She knew she could not stop the wedding.So,she informed Mumtaz that the only way to stop the wedding would be to ensure that there is a death in her  family.The family members would then have to go into mourning for a year and hence the wedding would have to called off.She paid Mumtaz Rs 3 lakh and asked her to kill Rajashekar.On June 21, Mumtaz allegedly hired Munna, Arju and Sakeeb to kill Rajashekar. Rajashekar, who was a painter by profession, was allegedly lured by the trio to an abandoned building near Kalyani Layout on the pretext of a project to paint the inner walls of the house.When Rajashekar reached the abandoned house, he was attacked by Munna, Arju and Sakeeb.They stabbed him on his stomach, neck, chest and legs multiple times,Rajashekar’s body was discovered by the locals on the morning of January 22 in visveshwaraya layout.
Ramesh Banoth,DCP,West,told media persons that,as on 22nd June we received a murder complaint in Kengeri police station.A man named Rajashekar was lying in a pool of blood and was murdered brutally by some miscreants in a building in BDA layout.We had to identify the victim.We found an Aadhar card in his pocket.We observed that his throat had been slit and that he had been stabbed in the abdomen 3-4 times we formed a special team to investigate this case.After thorough investigation we found that five people were involved in the murder.Rajashekar’s sister,Gauramma was the main accused.She had a friend named Mumtaz contacted three contract killers to finish the job.The contract killers have also been nabbed and they have been identified as Munna,Arjun and Shakib.During investigation Gauramma has confessed that she was the killer she has confessed that she killed him because he was forcing his daughter to get married to one of his close connections Gauramma was not happy with this alliance so she had him killed he added.

that it was a murder he immediately informed the senior officers as ACP and DCP they too rushed to spot with Dog squad and forensic expert was also rushed to spot and after inspecting the whole area of the scene of the crime place the forensic expert got his Aadhar card in his pocket at the scene of the crime and based on the Aadhar card the inspector informed his relatives who also rushed to spot and a case has registered in Kengeri police station under murder case after registering the case and after getting the identity of the victim a team headed by Inspector,Ramappa B Gutter and his staff with crime staff swung into action first they questioned Gauramma Rajashekar’s sister as what led to murder is there is any enemy who has murdered him or it is murder for gaining property for this she said he is very quite person and he was not that kind of person to have enemity with anyone and he used to work as painter by profession and when the incident happened I was at my sister place she said to cops after questioning her cops dint get any clue then one team was pressed into action to collect all the CCTV footages from in and around the vicinity of murder scene the cops collected all the CCTV footages but they dint find any clue with it then the inspector took the case very seriously and it was pride for them to detect the case the inspector with the able guidance of senior officers he sent one team in Mufti or plain clothes near to Rajashekar’s house to collect details the team were asked to keep a close watch on the Rajashekar’s house and check all the movements and team was deployed the team after inquiring in the area got to know that the Rajashekar and his sister used to indulge in quarrel oftenly relating to her daughters marriage and based on this the cops then again called her sister for questioning after taking a technical support and after analysing her call details we found her sister is the last Person who has spoken to her before he was killed the team questioned her what they spoke in the last conversation she said to cops that we were discussing about the preparation of marriage of my daughter as the alliance was fixed by him only and our team got some suspicious and were not convinced with her statement then they again questioned her where was she when the murder took place she said she was at her sister’s house which made our team to get some clue and doubt on her and our team then visited near to her house and they got to know that before the murder Gauramma’s neighbour has shifted the house and one team was pressed in collecting information about the neighbours and the team after analysing the call details they got to know that Gauramma was in constant touch with one number and they used to speak hours together after getting details about the caller our team visited her work spot where our team got to know that the women has left the job and took new sim and after getting the number our team called her to know about the murder in which she said to our cops that she is not aware as what has happened as while having a conversation with her our team got doubt and asked her to come to police station and give her statement she dint turned up and she used to give reason to come to station a special team went and detained the women and during questioning her she admitted that Gauramma is the one who who has given money to her to kill her own brother and based on her statement our team detained Gauramma and during the course of investigation she confessed the crime and said she has given a contract to Mumtaz to kill her brother and she has demanded Rs.3 lakhs and she paid her by selling her own house and she said Mumtaz has hired three contract killer who used to work in under construction building as labourer and after collecting the information about them our team detained all the three before they flee from the city and after arresting them the team grilled all the accused who spilled the beans and it was revealed that Gauramma is the main prime accused who has hatched the plan to kill her own brother by hiring contract killers who called Rajashekar to a abandon building on the pretext of painting project as they were well known that he is a painter by profession so they called him to the building to paint based on which the victim Rajashekar visited the building as soon as he visited the building the criminals thrashed or slited his throat and stabbed him 3-4 times on his abdomen and killed him and the reason for the murder was ego to delay her daughter marriage as she was not happy with the alliance as she was not liking the person with whom her daughter was engaged she was not liking him and she was like she will only search a good guy for her daughter and get her married so to delay the marriage she did a conspiracy of getting murdered of her own brother by contract killers so the marriage can be delayed for atleast one year as whole family will be in mourning and then she can search a good guy by on her own  for her daughter and get her married as she had some bad thoughts about the present person so by selling her house she took the help of her neighbour who hired contract killers by paying them three lakhs to kill his own brother a case has been registered in Kengeri police station and all the five accused has been arrested and further investigation is on and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Alok Kumar,has appreciated,Addl CP West,Umesh Kumar,DCP West,Ramesh Banoth,ACP Kengerigate Sub-Division,S.Manjunath,PI,Ramappa B Gutter and his PSIs,as,Venkatesh Murthy,Venkateshaiah,Mahadevaiah,Smt.Vanajakshi,and crime staff as,Arasu and others who has done a commendable job and detected the clueless murder case within 48 hours by arresting all the accused he added.

Get ready to pay more if caught for any traffic violation from today in Bangalore as the Karnataka state government has issued a notification based on which the Karnataka state transport department has hiked traffic fines.According to the special gazette,contrary to fixing fines depending on vehicle categories.
For example,till now Rs-300 was flat fine for overspeeding of two wheeler,Four wheeler was Rs-500 now the motorist will asked to pay Rs.1000,and while driving if the owner is found seated in the back and the driver driving the vehicle in over speed then additional Rs.500 rupees will be added to fine totally they need to pay Rs.1500 for the over speeding as owner will also be equally responsible for this as when the owner is also in the vehicle the driver drives in over speed means the owner has not given instruction and educated the driver to drive slow for the safety of him and others,Like this till now Rs-100 was the flat fine for using mobile phones while driving or riding,now Rs 1,000 will be the first penalty of such an offence while offenders have to pay Rs 2,000 for subsequent violations.Similarly, driving without vehicular insurance will now attract a fine of Rs 1,000 which was previously Rs 500, while parking violation was Rs 100 but now it will cost users Rs 1,000 for the first offence and Rs 2,000 for future offences.
Using a mobile phone while driving will attract a fine of Rs 1,000 for the first offence and Rs 2,000 subsequently (earlier it was Rs 300 to Rs 500), while the fine for driving a vehicle without insurance has been increased to Rs 1,000 from Rs 500. At the same time, the parking violation will attract a fine of Rs 1,000 henceforth.
The notification,signed by M.Sathyavathi under Secreatery to the government (transport department),says that the penalties have been revised under the purview of motor vehicles Act of 1988
The revised fines have come into effect immediately after the gazette notification.
According to the notification, exceeding speed limit will earn the driver a ticket of Rs 1,000 while carrying goods with load projection on either side can get you fined of Rs 2,000.

Two wheeler, 2017- 61,000 cases registered against the errant motorists and we have collected 18 Crores fine.

The new Cabinet,formed after the 2019 general elections, has approved the revised Motor Vehicles Bill. This bill was pending in the Rajya Sabha, after the Lok Sabha cleared ut in 2017, but the term change meant it had lapsed. The Bill is expected to be present to the Parliament in its upcoming session.
The big change is the much higher penalties for driving offences. Driving without a license will now call for a Rs 5,000 fine, up from Rs 500. Breaking speed limits and not wearing seatbelts can get you a Rs 1,000 fine, up from Rs 400 and Rs 100. Get caught using a phone or rash driving and you’ll have to shell out Rs 5,000, up from Rs 1,000. The fine for drunk driving has been raised to Rs 10,000 from Rs 2,000.
There is more protection in the case of accidents. A compensation of Rs 2 lakh or more will be provided to hit-and-run victims, up from Rs 25,000. In case a juvenile is involved in an incident, their parents/guardians will be held accountable unless proven innocent. A Motor Vehicle Accident Fund will provide cover to victims of accidents and a provision for the protection of Good Samaritans has also been made. Further, contractors, civic bodies and consultants will be held accountable for accidents arising out of faulty road design.
Aadhar is now compulsory for applying for driving licenses and vehicle registrations. The time limit for renewing your license will increase to a year before or after the expiry date.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said it has got evidence that the two were paid some money by the Gujarat-based pharmaceutical group in the past.

NEW DELHI: 

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Bollywood actor Dino Morea and DJ Aqeel for questioning in the Sterling Biotech alleged bank fraud and money laundering probe case, officials said on Monday.

The actor and the popular disc jockey (DJ) have been asked to depose before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as it has got evidence that the two were paid some money by the Gujarat-based pharmaceutical group in the past, they said.

They will be questioned about the circumstances of these payments made out of the proceeds of crime identified in the case and their statements will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the officials said.

While Dino Morea, also a model, has worked in a number of Hindi films, Aqeel is a popular DJ.

The two could not be immediately contacted for reaction.

The agency last week had made one of its largest PMLA attachments and frozen assets worth 9,778 crore of the group in India and abroad.

The alleged Rs. 8,100 crore bank loan fraud is being alleged to have been perpetrated by the Vadodara-based pharma firm and its main promoters Nitin Sandesara, Chetan Sandesara and Dipti Sandesara, all of whom are absconding.

The Sandesaras are also under probe for their alleged nexus with some high-profile politicians by the ED as also by the CBI and the Income Tax Department under criminal sections that deal with corruption and tax evasion respectively.
