Pothole claims yet another life in Bengaluru ! Police says death due to negligence by rider probe on

A 44-year-old regional manager of a private firm succumbed to severe head injuries on Monday after falling off his motorcycle, allegedly due to a bad patch of road in Herohalli on Magadi Road last Thursday.

The deceased,Suprith J,was a resident of Syndicate Layout in Herohalli.

According to the police,he was on his way to work when the accident occurred around 12.30 p.m.

The police said Suprith was riding near Ramraj Granites when his two-wheeler slipped into a pothole and lost balance.

He fell on the road sustaining severe head injuries.Passers-by, with the help of a few autorickshaw drivers,rushed him to the Herohalli government hospital.

He was later shifted to a private hospital in Malleswaram where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment around 4 a.m. on Monday.

Suprith’s brother Surakshit has filed a complaint with the Byadarahalli police stating that he got a phone call informing him about Suprith sustaining severe head injuries due to a pothole on the road.

Reacting to the news,former CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah said, “Infrastructure of #NammaBengaluru is in shambles.In an unfortunate incident, an innocent man has succumbed to a pothole.

My deepest condolences to his family. Weak & incapable @CMofKarnataka @BSBommai is in deep slumber, and even repeated warnings of High Court has not woken him up.”

The Byadarahalli police have registered a case against Suprith charging him under rash and negligent driving and death due to negligence.

But the FIR filed as a result of this unfortunate incident was filed under the sections of negligent and rash driving.

The police denied the family members rectification of the fir at the time.Police even went on to say that the deceased was not wearing a helmet and also he was using a mobile phone while driving.

But the deceased family members claim that the death happened due to the pothole.Potholes and poor roads have taken many lives in Bengaluru; however, despite activists and citizens going out of their way to take action, this problem.

Four shop keeper including hotelier and bike mechanic shops booked for encroaching footpath by parking vehicles,BTP warns it may lead to hefty fine or Jail term

On Tuesday as many as four shop keepers including hotelier and bike mechanic shops have been booked as goods have been seized besides filing a case against them.

The police have released their goods after obtaining bond value from ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 1 lakh.

If they found repeating the offence, they will be arrested produced before the court to recover the fine from them.

Traffic West Division,of Bengaluru Traffic police under the leadership and able guidance of DCP Traffic West,Kuldeep Kumar R Jain and his team have launched a special drive against footpath encroachment in and around the city and booking repeat offender for causing danger and obstructing public way or public line of navigation.

The traders who signed a bond of Rs.1 lakh were operating on sidewalls of chickpet,Magadi road and Jayanagar.

The traffic police step up patrolling on the main roads in their jurisdiction and cleared encroachment and vehicles parked on the footpath.

The police also recorded the violations and gave first warning to the encroachers.

Its a continuous efforts to clear footpath encroachment based on high court directions,a senior police officer said adding that the first time offenders are warned but the repeat offenders will be booked under section 283 of IPC and action be initiated under section 107 of the Cr PC, he said .

It may be recalled that the High court based on a Writ Petition in 2019 cracked a whip on the traffic police on footpath encroachment by shop keepers which is endangering pedestrian safety. The court directed the police to take action and ensure footpath are cleared from encroachment.

Two wheeling cases in Bengaluru:

Meanwhile in Bengaluru,IPS officer,Kuldeep Kumar R Jain,the DCP traffic West Division informed that the police has registered two separate cases of wheeling,one in K S Layout and the other in Byatarayanapura traffic police station limits in the city on Tuesday.

Two separate cases of wheeling cases booked @kslayoutrfps and @bypuratraffic.Wheeling is a dangerous menace of risking life by stunt on road. Only reason is to impress others by uploading on social media.Bonds would be taken from their parents for not involving in such act,” he wrote on Twitter.

K S Layout traffic cops also posted about the crime, saying the accused is identified as an 18-year-old youth called Rizwan, who was found wheeling near the Avalahalli Royal County. A case has been registered against him under sections 279 and 189 of the IPC, they added.

Suspecting her fidelity husband kills wife surrendered before KR Puram police

Suspecting her fidelity,a man killed his wife and surrendered before the police in KR.Puram on Tuesday evening

The deceased has been identified as Nancy Flora, 30,a homemaker,while the accused has been identified as John Supreet.

Senior officer,as,DCP, Whitefield,Girish S,with KR Puram police inspector and other staff visited the crime scene after inspecting the spot they said,The couple were married around 12 years ago and they have two children,a 10-year-old and a five-year-old.

They were living on the first floor of their own building in T.C. Palya,while Supreet’s parents stayed on the ground floor.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused suspected that his wife was having an affair and decided to kill her and attacked her with a machete around 6 p.m.

The children had returned from school and were with their grandparents when the incident took place.

On hearing the screams of Flora,the elderly couple climbed up to find her dead while Supreet was standing next to her.

Supreet left the house,while the elderly couple called the police.Before the police patrolling vehicle reached his house,Supreet went to KR. Puram police station and surrendered.

The accused confessed that his wife had been close to a person in the last few months.They had frequent fights over the same issue.

He has been arrested and further investigation is on he added.

CM stresses strong Karnataka- Hitachi bond for the state progress

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today inaugurated Power Quality Factory established by Hitachi Energy in Thammashettyhalli of Doddaballapura taluk.

Claudio Facchin, CEO of Hitachi Energy and N Venu, Managing Director and CEO,India and South Asia,Hitachi Energy,Health Minister,Dr. K. Sudhakar and other dignitaries were present.

The co-operation between Karnataka government and Hitachi company will help in industrialisation, R&D and development of technology.

The unification of these two forces will ensure in the further improvement of state economy and creation of jobs,opined Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Power Quality Factory’ organised by Hitachi Energy India at Tammashettyhalli in Doddaballapur on Tuesday.

Bommai said Karnataka is in forefront of Renewable Energy but there are challenges in the storage of energy.The challenges will pave way for innovation,he added.

He said Ease of Doing Business,Ease of Living and Ease of Upbringing are strictly followed.The State is number one in attracting the Foreign Direct Investment and Innovation index.

Karnataka will be in forefront of giving solutions to the global challenges in the coming days in this regard,the Hitachi Company will be extending its full co-operation,he added

The CM said Bengaluru has around 400 international level research centres and the State was looking for a knowledge partner in the energy sector.And that role can be done by the Hitachi Company.

The agreements worth Rs.1,25,000 crore have been signed in the field of Renewable Energy,and impetus is being given in the production Hydrogen energy and Ammonia.

The Hitachi Company will play a vital role in helping the state of Karnataka to achieve Rs One trillion dollar economy.

Bommai said a lot of reforms are made in power generation,distribution and transmission.The use of advanced technology is necessary in this field keeping in view the future of state and the country.

The management of powergrid must be good to ensure that the electricity reaches out to last man in the State.This is dependent on supplying power 24×7.

Hitherto,there was no grid link of supplying power from the excess power generating states to the power deficit states.

Now,thanks to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,the new concept of one grid,one nation has been implemented.This has enabled to supply electricity from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

He said Karnataka and the Hitachi Company have very good coordination.The company has its own quality products,designs and good service.

With this friendship,it uspossible to achieve excellence in trade, quality production and excellent service.

Like the Hitachi Company,the state of Karnataka too has a big legacy industrialisation.There are industrialists to give stress on technology.

A lot of impetus is being given on research and development of the basic sciences during pre and post independence period.

The research in this field resulted in the birth of IT sector.A lot of scientists and institutions are working for the development of basic sciences.

Patient need not come and stand in lines registrations to go online at all taluk and district hospitals:Health Minister Sudhakar

Jayanagara Government Hospital to receive Rs.5 crore grant for repair works

Patient registrations at all district hospitals in Karnataka are set to go online within a month, said Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar on Monday, August 22.

He further said that the same system will be implemented in taluk hospitals too shortly.

Speaking to media personnel after an inspection at the Jayanagar Government Hospital,he said that officials have been instructed to provide appointments online or through SMS to reduce crowding at the hospital.

This measure is being implemented to reduce long queues.

A system is being implemented where patients will be given information online or through SMS on which doctor to meet at what time.

There won’t be any need for patients to come to the hospital and wait.Any patient coming to district hospitals can take an appointment and pay online,he said.

Minister Sudhakar visited each ward of the hospital and gathered information about the quality of service in the hospital from patients.

Minister Sudhakar announced a grant of Rs.5 crore to the Jayanagar Government Hospital following a discussion with the officials for repair works.

Further,Minister Sudhakar told media persons that the officials have been instructed to take necessary measures to ensure that the Jayanagar Government Hospital qualifies to meet National Quality Standard (NQS).

Through this,we have to increase the quality of service.I will visit again in the future to check whether the target has been achieved,he added.

After the COVID-19 pandemic struck,a 51 bed ICU has been created here and to ensure proper functioning,the number of staff will be increased.

I have sent a proposal for appointments of permanent staff to the Finance Department.

Despite having 4 Orthopedic specialists,only 40 procedures are taking place in the hospital.This number needs to be increased to 100.

Also,a meeting will be held between various departments to bring about good coordination, he said.

Some complaints have been received in the maternity department and officials have been instructed to take corrective measures.

Incharges of each department have been given specific targets and have been instructed to ensure a level of quality that would encourage patients to visit the government hospital instead of private ones.

There was a complaint against a contract doctor who was taking bribes.

An investigation is underway and the officials have been instructed to remove that doctor from work even before the report is given.

Minister Sudhakar said that the Karnataka government has a mothers heart and he will visit other district hospitals to ensure quality healthcare.

Won’t spare hospitals until they refund the excess money they had charged COVID-19 patients

Some hospitals had charged COVID-19 patients and had again received money from the government.

Notices were given to the hospitals to refund the money to the patients.In the first such effort by the government,we were successfully able to ensure a total of Rs.1.58 crore has been returned to the patients till date.

The government will not rest until the last paisa that was collected this way is returned back.

Illegal telephone exchange racket operating in city crack down on by CCB

The Central Crime Branch officials stepped up investigations to crack down another illegal telephone exchange which is operating in the city.

Senior officer told reporters,The investigations was taken up based on a complaint filed by,Hind Gaurav,officer with security LAS unit,Ministry of Communications Department of telecommunication,who found that the four SIM cards are being used as SIP/Trunk exchange to convert international to local calls .

This according to Mr.Gaurav not only posing threat to national security but violations telecommunications rules and causing huge loss to the state exchequer.

Based on the four numbers provided,the police stepped up the investigations to track down the accused operating the exchange in and around the city.

It may be recalled that the CCB had busted many such illegal telephone rackets being operated in the city earlier.

Elderly man hacked to death by relative over financial row in Bengaluru

The Marathahalli Police are on the lookout for a man who clubbed his 65-year-old friend to death over a financial row at the parking lot of the residential apartment on Saturday.

Senior officer as,DCP Whitefield,Girish S,with other crime staff rushed to the spot and after inspecting the spot and collecting stock of the situation he said that the deceased Venkateshappa,had helped his friend Shivappa to get a loan of ₹ 11 lakh to buy a flat in Munekolala.

Venkateshappa was surety to get loan from Nanjunda Reddy and Prakash,who were pestering Venkateshappa to get back their money.

After repeated approach to Shivappa failed, Venkateshappa along with Reddy and Prakash went to his apartment and confronted him at the parking lot .

Heated argument ensued between them in the melee Shivappa attacked Venkateshappa with cricket bat and fled the scene.

The profusely bleeding Venkateshappa was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed on Sunday.

Based on the complaint,the Marathahalli police registered a case of murder and efforts are on to track down Shivappa who is on the run he added.

Bike lifter arrested by KR Puram police 10 bikes and car worth Rs.11 lakhs recovered

The KR Puram police on tuesday arrested a bike theft and recovered 1o bikes and a car worth Rs.11 lakh from him.

Senior officer told reporters the accused Muniraju,resident of Hosakote used to break handlocks of the bikes parked in front of the houses and steal them.

The accused would then take the stolen bikes to isolated places and hide them for few days before selling them to his contacts.

Based on a complaint,the police track down the accused and arrested him.

The accused had stolen the bikes from KR Puram,Banaswadi,Hennur,Yelahanka,Hosakote, Kolar and Mulabagilu police station limits.

Journo attacks by recovery goons cops backs them

Close to the heel of SC landmark judgement against recovery agents,Kerala based journalist and general secretary of the Kerala unit of Newspapers Association of India complained to chief minister of Tamil Nadu and to the Director general of police,Tamil Nadu against the physical assault,criminal intimidation of a group of recovery agents who posing as policemen carried out the attack on the pretext of checking papers.

Martin Mencherry from Kochi,Kerala in his complaint on Wednesday said that adding to worst a special police officer accompanied them to legalise their illegal activities carried out in broad day light on the roads.

Martin in his complaint said that he was on his way from Bangalore to Kochi,when the accused stopped his vehicle at the signal at Dharmapuri Vella Kall.

Posing as policemen

They asked that we are the police and check the vehicle.The incident happened.The gang led by Special sub-inspector Vasan of Thopur station was among these four persons.

Only Vasavan was wearing the uniform.The other four were not in uniform.The special inspector did not ask me anything but was mute spectator of his associates atrocities.

One among the gang wearing white shirt said that he is the police and wanted to check the vehicle.

I immediately moved the car to the side.These four people let me down from the car.When I parked the vehicle and got out of the car,the special inspector left.

When I asked these four people about it,they did not tell me what it was.Immediately they grabbed my hand and snatched the car key from my pocket and took control of my car .

Martin Immediately contacted 100 of the police and reported the matter.He also called the DySp and uprest the matter.

After 25 minutes this special inspector Vasavan cameback as if he didn’t know anything.I said the thing.Immediately the inspector took the car key from the hands of these gang and inquired.

That is when they say that we are the recovery agency people that holds the finance.

Martin,requested the authorities concerned to take immediate action against those who impersonated the police and snatched the vehicle and assaulted while Special Inspector Vasavan looked on.

This is sheer violation of human rights and also SC directions against recovery

On going betting racket busted four held

Alert police on Saturday caught four persons running betting racket for Maharaja cricket cup scheduled between four district teams .

Assistant Sub Inspector Nagendra,who was on security duty noticed the accused standing on the footpath outside the stadium,a 100 meters away from the police station,busy collecting details about the ongoing match.

The cricket matches was scheduled between Shimoga strikers,Mangalore united,Mysore warriors an Bengalore blasters .

Suspecting something fishy,Nagendra along with his colleagues rounded up the accused and found that they are gathering details overs,sixes, fours,wickets of the matches on their mobiles and cross checking with the ration on the betting app .

The accused told the police that they are waiting to receive betting amount from punters and also giving winning amount to those who won on ball to ball betting .

The accused have been arrested under various section of the Karnataka Police Act and taken them into custody for further investigations to ascertain their network.
