Southeast Cyber Crime police arrested 30-year-old man for blackmailing woman

The southeast cyber crime police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man who was blackmailing a private firm employee with her private photos .

The accused has been identified as,Nandish,30 year old a private firm employee.

Senior officer told media persons,a complaint was registered in South CEN Police station stating The victim, aged around 25 and working in a private firm said that she was living in with her male friend.

The family of her male friend opposed their relationship and allegedly started spreading rumours against her.The family also enraged Nandish to do the job.

As per the plan Nandish accessed their private photos and sent the pics to her father and also threatened the victim to circulate the same on social media if she did not return home .

Based on the complaint by the victim,the police arrested the accused Nandish, 30,charging him under various section of IT Act and also under criminal intimidation.

The Southeast division cyber crime police are further investigating to ascertain criminal background of Nandish and the motive behind and to ascertain who all are involved in this act he added.

Garage Catches fire in Suddaguntepalya 11 including senior citizen rescued by Fire and Emergency Officials

As many as 11 people including a senior citizen had a narrow escape when a garage on the ground floor of their two-storey building in Suddaguntepalya caught fire late Sunday night.

Fire and emergency service personnel along with the jurisdictional police rushed to the spot and put out the fire before it could spread to other floors.

While a few residents were able to leave the building,many were still in their flats.Fortunately, we were able to contain the fire quickly and no one was hurt.

As many as 25 fire and emergency personnel were on the spot,said a police officer who was at the spot.

The owner of the building had rented out several portions in the first and second floor to tenants, while the ground floor had a few shops including the garage which was caught in the fire.

A team from the Department of Electrical Inspectorate are probing the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire though officials suspect that a short circuit was the cause.Investigations are on and we are waiting for the report,said a senior officer.

SUMAIRA: Pakistan Issues Citizenship Certificate To woman Jailed In India, paving for her return home

Pakistan has issued a citizenship certificate to a woman held in a jail in Bengaluru, paving the way for her return to the country with her four-year-old daughter, a media report said on Friday. 

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Thursday his ministry had issued the citizenship certificate for Sumaira, who is at a detention centre in Bengaluru after the National Database and Regulatory Authority verified her family tree media reports says.

Sumaira along with her four year old daughter awaiting at the government home for women to get her travel documents promised by Pakistan high commission .

We heard that she will be taken back but awaiting official commique from them,a officer with the FRRO, said.

The woman and child sound and healthy when asked about her health condition a senior FRRO officer said.

Sumaira completed few rounds of interview with the officials of pak high commission at Delhi to confirm her identity four months ago and they assured to put up papers with the government for further process.

Sumaira aged around 25 years was caught by central agencies in May 2017 at her rented house in KS layout with her husband later identified as Shihab and His associate Kashif.

SPCA Bengaluru activist files complaint against Karnataka Youth Congress President Nalapad for using donkey at protest putting up banners illegally

Members of society for prevention of cruelty to animals filed a complaint with City Police Commissioner against state youth president Mohammed Harris Nalpad for using donkey in the protest on Thursday.

Mr.Nalpad had staged a protest against the ruling party on malleshwaram on Thursday and used a donkey to carry a man to mock the ruling party.

The entire protest was circulated on social media .

This amounts to cruelty on animal and the police should initiate necessary action so that such incident should not be repeated, secretary of SPCA said in his complaint filed on Saturday.

The police have taken up the complaint and forwarded it to the jurisdictional police station for further process.

Meanwhile,a Bengaluru activist has filed a complaint against unidentified persons for putting up 150 flex banners and buntings at Corporation Circle on Friday during a felicitation programme for Congress leader B K Hariprasad.

Based on the complaint, the Halasuru gate police have registered an FIR charging the accused under the Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act.

Solid Waste Management strike called off by Unions after discussions : Gaurav Gupta BBMP Chief Commissioner

Urging for the fulfillment of various demands including the timely payment by BBMP regarding the solid waste management in BBMP jurisdictions,the Janti Kriya Samithi/Contractors association had staged a protest on 18-02-2022 by not collection and transporting waste from various parts of the the city.

In this regard,on 19-02-2022 BBMP’s senior officials held a meeting with the representatives of Janti Kriya Samithi and Lorry owners’ Association and also informed them that the steps will be taken up to sort out the related issues immediately.

Further,instructed that-the collection and disposal of waste in BBMP limits is a regular (daily) work and for this to happen systematically, the monthly prescribed service fee should be paid on time.

Further,instructed the concerned officials to solve the other related problems being faced by contractors.

Considering the assurances by the BBMP, the contractors association has taken back the protests and restarted the waste collection from today afternoon itself.The work of collection and transportation from wards has started thereafter.

CM Bommai assures 3 acres of land for the benefit of people from Northern Karnataka settled in Bengaluru

Chief Minister Basavarj Bommai has assured to provide atleast 3 acres of land for the benefit of people from Northern Karnataka settled in Bengaluru.

The assurance came when a delegation of the Federation of Northern Karnataka Associations in Bengaluru called on the Chief Minister on Saturday.

The delegation led by President of the Federation Shivakumar Meti presented the charter of demands to the Chief Minister at his home office ‘Krishna’.

“Soon land would be granted for construction of a building for the benefit of people from Northern Karnataka.

The land would help build a hostel for the students and people coming from that region,” Bommai said.

The Chief Minister responded positively for a demand from the delegation to provide funds on priority basis for prominent development projects of Northern Karnataka.

Apart from Shivakumar Meti, the delegation included Basavaraj Beluru, Sridhar Kalkuru, Gangadhar Vali, Journalist Shankar Pagoki and others.

Hijab Row: FIR against protesting students in Karnataka’s Tumakuru

Tumakuru police on Friday registered FIR against as many as 15 girl students of Girls Empress, Govt Pre-University College for protesting at the campus defying prohibitory orders.

In his complaint Mr.Shanmukha said that the students violating the prohibitory orders and college holding parents teachers meeting instructing HC interim order not to wear hijab, few hijab clad students barged into the campus shouted slogans and created ruckus demanding that they should be allowed to attend classes with hijab.

This has not only created ruckus but disrupt the normal activities of the college.

The snap protest not only violated the prohibitory orders but also HC interim order,he said .

The police are now trying to identify the agitated students through the video footage.

Senior officer said,Based on the complaint filed by Shanmukha S ,principal of the College the police charged the girls under section 145 (unlawful assembly),section 188 (disobedience of order pramulgated by public servants) section 149 (unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object ) .

Two Peddlers held,International Drug racket busted by Custom Officials,Heroin and MDMA pills Worth Rs.9.82 Crore seized at Kempegowda International Airport

Custom officials busted international racket and seized heroin and ecstasy pills worth Rs 9.82 crore smuggled through air cargo into the Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport .

The officials nabbed two suspects in this connection.

Based on specific intelligence of concealment of contraband,the officers of Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU)and Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch (SIIB),Bengaluru Airport and Air Cargo Commissionerate, intercepted two shipments in the International Courier Terminal that had arrived from Zambia and Belgium.

During scanning process found something amiss about the consignments.

The parcel that reached Bengaluru from Belgium was cut open to reveal 4.58 kg of colourful pills which was later established to be MDMA drugs commonly known as Ecstasy pills or Molly.

The seized drugs were worth Rs 2.82 crore in the international market.

Another consignment of machine parts shipped from Zambia in southern Africa was flagged by Customs sleuths at the cargo wing who immediately dismantled the top portion to unearth a light brownish powder which a lab test confirmed as first quality heroin weighing one kg and estimated to be worth a whopping Rs 7 crore in its present market value.

The ecstasy pills and heroin worth a total of Rs. 9.82 crore were seized and Bengaluru Customs began a probe and nabbed two men on Friday night.

Their identities are yet to be revealed due to an ongoing probe.The drug seizure is one of the biggest in recent times at Bengaluru Airport .

Recently the officials busted another racket and seized heroine worth Rs 5.30 crore being smuggled inside a laptop sleeve via air courier from Dubai on January 25, 2022.

A Senior customs officials told media persons, The two persons were arrested under NDPS Act and produced before the Hon’ble NDPS Court, who remanded them to judicial custody.

Further followup action with the assistance of Commissioner of Customs, Trichy Preventive and team led to the arrest of a Nigerian national presently residing in Erode,Tamilnadu, who was facilitating the import of the said narcotic substances.

The said Nigerian national was also arrested on 19.02.2022 and produced before the Hon’ble NDPS Court,who remanded him to judicial custody he added.

Amid Hijab Row, Prohibitory Orders In Bengaluru Extended Till Feb 28

Prohibitory orders in and around the city has been enforced till February 28 to following the guidelines issued by the chief secretary and chairman of state executive committee of state disaster management authority .

The district administration had imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in areas around all high schools on February 9 following the pro and anti-hijab protests.

The prohibitory order restrict all types of rallies, dharnas,congregations including social religious and political protest procession of any sort .

Marriage functions are prohibited with more than 300 persons in open space and 200 people in closed space .

Sports complex and stadiums shall not operate exceeding 50 per cent of its capacity.Any violations of order is liable for prosecutions under provisions of Disaster Management Act section 188 ( Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of IPC and Karnataka Epidemic Disease Act says the order issued by Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant.
