Kalaburagi, Apr 1 : Senior Congress leader M Mallikarjun Kharge today took strong exception against BJP Karnataka President terming AICC President as ‘Bachha’ and said that “this type of using words shows his poor culture”.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Kharge said that abuse is BJP’s best defense, but electorates of the country are observing very closely and will give a befitting reply in the General Elections. “Using this type of silly wards not useful for Mr Yeddyurappa , if he feels Mr Rahul was lier than he may file defamation case against him instead of abusing,” he added.
Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Yeddyurappa on Sunday took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi and called him ‘KID’ (Bachha) for referring to Dairy issue and alleging that he had given Rs 1800 crore to senior BJP leaders including Union Ministers.
Meanwhile BJP senior leader and former MLC K B Shanappa today Joined Congress party and Kharge welcomed him into the party fold.
Shanappa had quit BJP recently in protest against denying him the ticket for contesting from Kalaburagi and selecting Dr Umesh Jadhav.

Sitting MP Ramesh Katti will not quit BJP over denial of ticket: Yeddyurappa
Belagavi, Apr 1 : Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also the BJP State President,
today clarified that Ramesh Katti is not quitting the party for denying him the ticket to Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat and he will also work for the success of Annasaheb Jolle selected by the party high command.
Annasaheb Jolle will file nomination on April 3 and Suresh Angadi will file his nomination on April 4 for Chikkodi and Belagavi Lok Sabha seats respectively, he added.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Yeddyurappa claimed that BJP will win more than 20 seats in the State and more than 300 seats in the country. He also expressed confident of Prime Minister Narendra Modi continuing in his post even after General Election.
Yeddyurappa alleged that Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy is making false promises and it also included waiver of farmers loan to the tune of Rs 45,000 Crore. “Till date only Rs 4500 crore was released in this regard”, he added.
The former Chief Minister alleged that Kumaraswamy is misusing official machinery for the success of his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy who is contesting for Mandya Lok Sabha seat.
Ramesh Katti, who was also present, said that he will abide by the party High Command direction and work for the success of the party candidate in the Lok Sabha election.

rainfall occurred at a few places over north interior Karnataka and at isolated places over coastal Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka.
Chief rainfall amounts: Mudgal 4, Hubbali, Hungund, Ilkal, Vijayapura, Alamatti 2 each and Dharwad 1.
Kalaburgi recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42 dc in the state.
Forecast valid until Wednesday Morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over the state. Dry weather very likely to prevail over the state.
