Four held Inter-state weapon racket busted by CCB,6 Pistols,2 rifles and 19 live ammunition seized

The CCB officials busted an interstate weapon racket and arrested four persons who were supplying country made weapons to the gangsters and rowdies in the city.The police also recovered five country made pistols,two rifles and 19 live ammunition from them.

The accused has been identified as,Ayazulla,30,from kalasipalya,Syed Siraj, 42, from RT Nagar Mohammed Ali, 32,from Hegde Nagar and Arun Kumar,26 from Rajanukunte.

Senior officer told media persons,the CCB officials received a credible information that weapons are being sold illegally in and around kalasipalya police station limits and the person is waiting in cottonpet near hotel.

Based on the credible information a team of police led by Inspector, Hazaresh Killedar and his team rushed to the spot and kept a close watch near the hotel the team covered the area from all the corners and when they got confirmation the team raided the place and caught Ayazulla who was waiting near a hotel in cottonpet to deliver weapons to his customers,was caught red handed before he could make the delivery.

The team found pistol and ammunition in his possession and the team arrested him under Arms Act and took him into custody.

The team conducted a thorough investigation in which the accused spilled the beans and revealed his associates name and Based on his information the police arrested Syed Siraj,42, from RT Nagar Mohammed Ali,32,from Hegde Nagar and Arun Kumar,26 from Rajanukunte and recovered the remaining arms which they had purchased from Ayazulla.

The accused including Ayazulla had various criminal cases pending against them in police stations across the city.

A detailed investigation by the team has revealed that the prime accused AYazulla,30 from Kalasipalya was sourcing weapons from his contacts in Shamli in Uttar Pradesh,Amritsar in Punjab and Shirdi in Maharashtra,getting the delivery of weapons by trains and buses and selling it to the gangster.

The accused would get the weapons from his sources for throwaway prices and sell it to his customers in the city for much higher prices to make quick money.

The CCB booked the accused under Arms Act and continued investigations to find Ayazulla’s weapon business network and further investigation is on.

Sri Varidhi Souharda Credit co-operative society Brundavan properties booked under cheating and BUDS Act

The Rajajinagar police have registered a case against Sri Varidhi Souharda credit co-operative society private limited situated in 3rd block,Rajajinagar charging it under cheating and also under banning unregulated deposit schemes after allegedly cheating many depositors .

Senior officer told reporters,One of the depositors identified as Shivalingaiah L in his complaint said that he had deposited his retirement benefits anticipating a good sum of monthly interest.

But two months after receiving the deposits the director shut down the co-operative bank and escaped .

Mr.Shivalinhaiah, 63,resident of 3rd stage Basaveshwaranagar said that he had paid Rs 10.2 lakh towards Fixed Deposit at the bank in november 2019.

However two months later the bank shut down  and the director of the bank identified as Vani is missing after shutting the bank. Neither the interest nor the principal amount Mr. Shivalingaiagh got back he stated in his complaint.

Based on the complaint a case has been registered under cheating and BUDS Act against the director and others and further investigation is on.

Meanwhile recently few days back A real estate firm has closed down overnight and its owner gone absconding, leaving hundreds of site aspirants in the lurch.The company, owned by one Dinesh Gowda, is said to have collected Rs 5 crore from the public by promising them BDA-approved sites at affordable rates in Tavarekere, Hesaraghatta, Nelamangala, Kanakapura and other places. The working class, specifically labourers, auto-rickshaw drivers, cabbies and garment factory workers, invested the money, paying it in instalments.

FIR was registered.BUDS Act will be invoked.Approx 500 victims.Total approx amount involved may be above 5 Crore.Exact details will be available after registration of FIR DCP North Dharmendra Kumar Meena said.

A special team was formed by DCP North Dharmendra Kumar Meena under the supervision  of ACP Malleswaram sub-division KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI,RP Ashok and his crime staff swung into action and after meticulous investigation and with the help of technical inputs the team.Arrested Dinesh Gowda from Arkalgud, hassan and further investigation is on he added.

Drunk driver rams his car into bike killing two labourers in Bengaluru

Two labourers from Rajasthan were killed when a 26-year-old event manager accompanied by his female friend drove the car in rash and negligent manner under the influence of alcohol,and knocked them down on Banashankari 9th main opposite post office on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as,Ketharam,40, a carpenter by profession,and his assistant keemaram,28, both residents of cauvery Nagar.

Senior officer said,The incident occurred at around 11 pm when Suhas Venkatesh,resident of Padmanabha Nagar was drunk along with his female friend was returning from a party.He lost control over the Hundai Creta car knock down two persons riding the bike.

the duo hailed from Rajasthan were living in a rented house in Cauvery Nagar in Banashankari. The were working in an under construction apartment and returning home after work .

The impact of the accident was so high that the car plunged into the footpath and crashed into the billboards of shops before coming to the half.

People who were walking on the footpath escaped narrowly who later in a fit of rage thrashed the driver before the police could arrive at the spot.

Suhas,a resident of Padmanabhanagar was driving his car in a reckless manner.He crashed the car against bike and plunged into the footpath.

While Ketharam riding a bike crushed to death on the spot Keemaram was tossed in the air and crushed on the footpath sustaiing severe head injuries .

Passers-by thrashed Sushas who tried to misbehave with them and later alerted the police control room.

The ambulance rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital where Keemaram succumbed later at the hospital.

Suhas is admitted in the Appolo hospital and recovering .

The blood samples has confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol. The Banashankari police are waiting to take him into police custody for further interrogation.

According to eyewitnesses,the car was being driven in a zigzag way before crashing into the footpath and he along with his female friend tried to flee from the spot.The locals caught Suhas , thrashed him and handed over to the police.

The family of the deceased told the police that the duo had come to the city eight years ago and were working in an apartment.

They left their family in their native Rajasthan and sometimes used to stay wherever they were working. They had gone to their native two months ago due to a lockdown and had returned to the city a month ago.

The Banashankari traffic police have registered a case against Suhas charging him under section 279. (Rash driving or riding on a public way)and section 304 (causing death by negligence) and are investigating.

Alert Amruthahalli Hoysala Patrolling police nab bike-borne chain snatcher within hours of theft recovered 48 grams of gold chain

The Northeast Division police of Amruthahalli police have nabbed a bike-borne chain Snatcher within hours of theft after a cinematic chase and recovered 48 grams of gold chain and bullet.

The accused has been identified as,Anil R,29,resident of Rajagopalnagar.

Senior officer,told media persons,A chain snatching incident was reported in Amruthahalli police station limits on 7th August at around 7.40,an elderly woman had come to a temple in Coffee Board Layout.

Meanwhile the accused came on his bullet and parked the bullet near by the hotel.He then followed the woman and snatched her gold chain and fled the spot . 

When the victim raised an alarm prompting the hoysala patrolling vehicle team to chase and catch him.  

In a swift action,the Hoysala patrolling police personnel ASI,Giriappa,and police constable Shivakumar who were on patrolling received a message from command centre and rushed to the spot and then gave a cinematic chase and caught a bike-borne chain snatcher,red-handed and recovered 48 grams of gold.  

The accused came ona bullet bike and snatched a gold chain from an elderly woman.As she raised an alarm the police patrolling vehicle passing by rushed to her to help chase and caught him and handed over to Amruthahalli police.

During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and a detailed investigation by the team has revealed that the accused is a habitual offender and is involved in similar offences earlier a case has been registered and further investigation is on.

Jaishankar holds talks with Qatari counterpart in Doha on Afghanistan developments

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday held talks with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on the latest developments in Afghanistan as he stopped over in Qatar’s capital Doha on his way back home from a four-day visit to the US.

The Taliban’s political leaders have been residing in the Gulf country for years.

“Met Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani @MBA_AlThani_DPM & FM Qatar during my stop over in Doha. Had useful exchange of views on Afghanistan,” Jaishankar tweeted.

The talks came five days after Afghan capital Kabul fell to the Taliban after it swept across Afghanistan, seizing control of almost all key towns and cities in an over month-long offensive following the withdrawal of the US forces.

The Qatari foreign minister, who also holds the post of deputy prime minister, said the discussions included the recent developments in Afghanistan.

“Delighted to welcome again my colleague @DrSJaishankar, #India’s Minister of External Affairs. Our discussion included ways of developing the historical relations between our two friendly nations, along with the recent developments in #Afghanistan,” he said on Twitter.

On Tuesday, India completed the evacuation of all its diplomats and other staff members from Kabul under a difficult and complicated exercise, two days after the Taliban’s takeover of the Afghan capital.

The mission to evacuate close to 200 people including the Indian envoy and other staffers in two military aircraft was accomplished with support from the US.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said the Taliban has been carrying out door-to-door searches of several embassies in Kabul and had gone to the Indian mission complex as well.

Jaishankar had made two stopovers at Doha in June during his visit to Kenya and Kuwait.

Qatar had also hosted talks between the Taliban and the United States.

Earlier this month, Qatari special envoy for conflict resolution Mutlaq bin Majed Al-Qahtani visited India during which he met Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and J P Singh, the Joint Secretary in the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran division in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Covid-19 Update India”s Number of active cases in India lowest in 151 days

NEW DELHI: A single-day rise of 34,457 COVID-19 cases pushed India’s tally to 3,23,93,286 on Saturday, while the number of active cases declined to 3,61,340, the lowest in 151 days, according to Union health ministry data.

The death toll climbed to 4,33,964 with 375 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.

The 3,61,340 active cases comprise 1.12 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March last year.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.54 per cent, the highest since March last year, the ministry said.

A reduction of 2,265 cases has been recorded in the active caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2 per cent.

It has been less than 3 per cent for the last 26 days, according to the ministry.

The weekly positivity rate stands at 1.98 per cent.

It has been below 3 per cent for the last 57 days, the ministry said.

As many as 17,21,205 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Friday, taking the total number of tests done so far in the country to 50,45,76,158.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 3,15,97,982, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

So far, 57.61 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

India’s caseload crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23.

The 375 new fatalities include 105 from Maharashtra and 99 from Kerala.

Of the 4,33,964 deaths reported so far in the country, 1,35,672 were from Maharashtra, 37,105 from Karnataka, 34,663 from Tamil Nadu, 25,079 from Delhi, 22,791 from Uttar Pradesh, 19,345 from Kerala and 18,346 from West Bengal.

The health ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.

Bengaluru Gangrape: NIA Raids Places Linked To Bangladeshi Human Traffickers in Bengaluru

The NIA officials on Saturday conducted searches at two locations in Bengaluru City, Karnataka at the premises of a suspect,involved in making fake ID proof documents for the Bangladeshi traffickers and the trafficked victims.

The case was originally registered at Ramamurthy Nagar Police against 13 accused persons after a raid conducted at a rented house where 7 Bangladeshi women and one child were rescued from the custody of human traffickers.

The women were trafficked from Bangladesh to India by accused persons on the pretext of providing jobs in India but were forced into prostitution.

NIA had re-registered the case  under section  370,(human trafficking),343,(wrongful confinement),of IPC,also under Foreigners Act and Immoral Traffic(Prevention) Act.

During the searches various incriminating documents,six digital devices including hard disks and mobile phones used for making the forged documents were seized.Further investigation in the case continues

Two E-Ticket touts nabbed by Bengaluru and Mysuru Division RPF

The Railway Protection Force of Bengaluru and Mysuru division busted railway E- ticket racket and caught two touts involved in unauthorized procuring and selling of Railway e- tickets.  

The officials recovered 18 live tickets of worth Rs.18,950 and electronic devices of valued Rs. 35,000 from him.

On enquiry he confessed that he was charging extra commission besides the Railway proscribed rates.

In this connection a case has been registered against him at Baiyyappanahalli,Further enquiry in this case is in progress.

In a similar incident the Railway Protection Force of Mysuru division nabbed one tout named Rakshith N and recovered  live e-tickets of worth Rs.203 and electronic devices of valued Rs.13,703 were seized from him.

On enquiry he confessed the offence that he was supplying and procuring of Railway e-tickets unauthorizedly. In this connection a case has been registered against him at Mysuru.Further enquiry in this case is in progress a senior RPF officer said.

Rowdy-sheeter Hacked to death in broad daylight over trivial row

A 40-year-old rowdy sheeter was hacked to death by a group of people including women from his neighbourhood in Devara Jeevanahalli (DJ Halli) over a fight over trivial row on Saturday .

The deceased has been identified as Mazhar Khan,a resident of Dr Ambedkar Nagar of DJ Halli.

Senior officer told media persons,Mazhar was beaten black and blue and stabbed multiple times with lethal weapons after he had a fight with a woman in his neighbourhood and hurled verbal abuses at her.

The DJ Halli police soon after the incident detained a few suspects including a woman involved in the murder.The police also formed special team to nab others involved in the murder and presently on the run,said an investigating officer.

Mazhar was a rowdy sheeter of DJ Halli police station having multiple cases pending against him.

On Saturday at around 8 am,Mazhar went to a shop run by a woman in the neighbourhood in which he had a Heated argument ensued when Mazhar abused her for delaying to give the goods he had asked for .

As  Mazhar abused her,people gathered to witness the drama.Humiliated by this she informed her family members about the incident who in a fit of rage confronted Mazhar and after a heated argument stabbed him repeatedly and thrown his body in the road before fleeing the spot.

A case has been registered in DJ Halli police station and further investigation is on.

NIA Conducts Searches at Multiple Locations in Karnataka in DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Station Attack Cases

Officials of National Investigation agency on Saturday Conducted Searches at Multiple Locations at the houses of accused persons involved in DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Station Attack Cases .

According to the officials simultaneous searches conducted at seven persons house who were charge sheeted by the NIA and are presently on the run. 

During the searches various incriminating documents and electronic devices were seized from the premises of absconding accused persons.

The NIA is probing the two cases originally registered in DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Stations pertaining to the attack on police station by armed mob on August last year.

The mob protesting against the alleged derogatory social media (Facebook) post about Prophet Mohammed by Naveen,had turned violent and targeted the Police Stations.

The mob had attacked the Police Personnel and also burnt police vehicles and damaged Government and private properties in and around the two Police Stations. 

The NIA had re-registered the cases and filed chargesheet against 109 and 138 accused persons.Further investigation continues.
