While city police resort to different methods to enforce lockdown,the Madanayakanahalli police garland 34 persons including 32 bikers and two autorickshaw drivers putting tilak on their forehead and took aarti to embarrass them publicly for moving out without reasons.

Senior officer,said A part of the plan a team of officials put up barricades near Navayuga toll on Tumkuru road and caught the motorist trying to pass by .
We have resorted to canning,booked cases, seized vehicles and even took out awareness march holding placards and public announcements,but people continue to violate lockdown rules unabated,he said .
As part of the strategy we decided to garland the violators and embarrass them so that the others can learn a lesson,he added .
A woman constable was asked to do aarti while the other staff garland and put Tilak on the violators and click pictures.
The senior police officers later give them a piece of advise on the effect of community spread and how it is going to effect the health and burden the family members.We have also seize their bikes and issued notices to the violators .
The drive took around 10.30am and it ended in the evening. Most of them did not have valid reasons.
Many cited they are going for vaccination but no document to corroborate their claim.Some of them even said that they going for hospital but there was no valid reason for their visit to hospital or medical store,another police,said .
One of the biker was carrying bank ID card even though it was Sunday and tried to convince that he is going on official work.When we insisted to talk to his senior officer he admitted the mistake.
However there are some motorists who have genuine reasons who were allowed to pass through but majority of them have no reasons to come out,another official added.
Meanwhile the city police registered cases against more than 500 persons for violating lockdown rules.The violators were booked under Disaster management act and Epidemic disease act and released later on station bail .

City police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,requested the people to stay at home during lockdown and cooperate with the police.The enforcement is to contain covid infection and asked people to be responsible and help police to make the lockdown successful.
Details of the vehicles seized for violation of #COVID19 guidelines: As of May 23: from 10 AM to 8 PM,2-Wheelers: 1308,3-Wheelers:77,4-Wheelers:103, totally 1488 violators vehicles seized.Cases booked under NDMA is 184 he added.

In view of the pandemic situation, lockdown in Karnataka has been extended till June 7, 2021, chief minister BS Yediyurappa informed on Friday.
We had a meeting with senior officials and ministers.We have taken a decision on lockdown. We had strict restrictions till May 24.
As per the opinion of experts,we are extending the strict restrictions till June 7, 6 am, Yediyurappa said.
Besides this,the Karnataka government has decided to give free treatment for Mucormycosis (black fungus) patients in the government district hospitals, the chief minister added.
A negative COVID test report is a must for inter-State travellers coming into Karnataka,said State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday.We have barricaded not only major roads but also the minor ones as was done last time,” he told reporters here.
“We have imposed restrictions, especially in the border districts such as Belagavi, Bidar, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Anekal in Bengaluru (bordering Tamil Nadu) and near Mangaluru (bordering Kerala),” he said.
The Minister said he has directed the district authorities, including the police, to strictly impose the lockdown in the districts to contain the spread of the infection. He appealed to the people to abide by the lockdown. 
“Please cooperate with @BlrCityPolice in implementing the lockdown guidelines. Let us beat #COVID19 together. Stay Home. Stay Safe!” Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday announced the extension of lockdown till June 7,which was slated to end on May 24.
The State has imposed restrictions since April 27 but the stringent restrictions were imposed on May 10 for a period of two weeks.However, the government extended it for another two weeks as the COVID cases grew unabated and caused intense stress on the hospitals, doctors and paramedical staff. 
On Sunday,the State reported 25979 fresh COVID cases and 626 related fatalities while there were 4,72,986 active cases.

The CCB officials on Saturday arrested two persons selling oxygen cylinders in black market at exorbitant price and seized 5 cylinders from them.

The accused has been identified as,Shivaganesh,49,from Sheshadripuram,and Bharath,35,from Byatarayanpura.

Senior officer,told media persons,that our Special inquiry squad officers received a credible information about the oxygen cylinder is being Blackmarketing in Sheshadripuram.

Based on a tip off team led by ACP, Hanumantharaya raided the house of Shivaganesh,49 in Sheshadripuram and arrested him.The police have recovered 3 oxygen cylinders from him.

During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and based on his information the another team headed by ACP,Jaganath Rai and team  arrested his associate identified as Bharath,35  from Byatarayanpura and seized 2 cylinder from his house.

During interrogation it was found that Bharath is working in a Bangalore gas agency and used to source the cylinders and give it to Shivaganesh to sell it to the people in black rate who are in emergency need and share the profit.

The police have taken the duo into custody for further investigations.

Two labourers buried alive while another injured after a mud wall collapsed on them at an under construction site in Devarabeesanahalli in Marathahalli on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Jambhanna (40),a native of Koppala and Bheemaraya,(34),from Kalaburagi.The injured Veeranna B,shifted to nearby hospital.They were staying in Devarabeesanahalli in sheds along with their families.

The Marathahalli police along with fire and emergency service  personnel rushed
to the spot and recovered the victims buried under the heap of mud with the help of JCB machine. 

There were totally seven labourers working  at the time of the incident.while four escaped narrowly while the trio buried under the heap before they could react.

According to the police,the incident occurred around 3.30 pm and the six of the labourers were digging mud at the basement of the site
and the mud wall was in complete wet condition due to recent heavy rain.

A part of the mud wall collapsed on them and three of them managed to escape while two were buried under heap of the mud.Veeranna had injuries and was rescued by fire personnel and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is recovering stable.

The Marathahalli police have registered a case of negligence against the site engineer and contractor charging them under death due to negligence.

BTP temperoarily suspends physical checks of vehicle on road violation will be booked by Digital FTVR : BR Ravikanthe Gowda

The Bengaluru traffic police is suspending physical checks of vehicles on the roads keeping the covid pandemic and the safety of the traffic police on duty temperoarily till further orders.

Dr.BR Ravikanthe Gowda,Joint Commissioner of Police,Traffic said that though preventing road accidents and enforcing traffic rules are the primary concern,it is also equally important to ensure personal safety of the traffic police on duty.

The police on duty should resort to checking vehicles using field traffic violation cameras  issued to them.

The police personnel can also make use of  enforcement cameras to record the violations by following social distance,he added.

Mr.Gowda further requested the motorists to follow traffic rules to ensure safety.It is a general tendency observed that many motorists tend to violate traffic rules considering the empty roads and end up in fatal and nonfatal accidents.The only way of avoiding road accidents is to follow traffic rules,he reiterated .

Jain Community along with Ek koshish prayatnisi group with Aashayein group of volunteers and friends all over the city have sprung into action, doing every bit they can for helping covid victims and people who are in need of food they are moving around the city and distributing food packets.
The group of friends have teamed up to provide,Ration kits, food packets,water bottles,medicine to the homeless and Senior citizens and poor people,since the lockdown was imposed.
To help the Karnataka Government during coronavirus lockdown,a number of NGOs,police officials and individuals have been doing their bit to help marginalized communities across the nation.
The group is delivering around 1,000 food packets to the homeless people in Bengaluru daily.The group,along with police’s help, distributes food packets while ensuring that Covid appropriate behaviour and guidelines issued by government is maintained as well.
From raising funds to arranging for covid resources,Bengalureans are doing it all. is not far behind either.The association has been raising funds to prepare ration kits for the families of daily wage workers, Migrant labourer and Transgender community and underprivileged people affected by the pandemic.
Each of these kits contain essential grocery items like rice, atta, dal, sugar, oil etc. Each kit is enough to feed a family of four for around 10 days. 
They start distribution in the afternoon by loading around 1000 food packets prepared at their residence and drive around in their vehicle across city.
As I sit before the computer, typing this story in the comfort of my home,I cannot help but acknowledge the privilege that working from home policy brings to people like me.
But what happens to those who do not have this option? The worst-affected are daily wage earners like domestic help,security guards, Auto Rickshaw drivers,handcart pullers, and waste pickers.
With their work and mode of income disrupted, the coming weeks look bleak for them, as their families run out of supplies.
In these testing times,a few heroes have stepped up to extend a helping hand.Here are the team members of EK Koshish Prayatnisi,and Jain Community which has started a initiatives in Bengaluru city,ensuring that the needy do not go to bed hungry.
According to Sandeep Bagarecha,and Vinod Jain,said people from all parts of corner have received ration kits and Apart from this our teams are distributing food packets to daily wage workers street vendors, frontline warriors and many others in many areas we have team of around 50 members we all are working as a team work to help the needy as our aim is that no one should sleep Hungry.
The volunteers who are doing a noble service in distributing food packets and ration kits to the needy and transgender community as many are businessman, techies,social workers and others.

How did you take this initiative?
The team members shared their experience to Country and politics Reporter by telling that Last year we saw that a mass exodus of daily wage earners from Bengaluru with no work and no money were stranded for sometime but many NGOs and police department helped them by giving them shelter and food so we joined hands to make sure that no one sleep Hungry.
That lot was the worst affected.They without any transport resorted to walking miles to return home. I was deeply moved. Then I decided to alleviate their sufferings by giving them something to survive such catastrophic times.
Is there a reason that you have chosen to help the middle class people unlike the previous year when the novel coronavirus entered India?
Middle class is the section of society that gets sandwiched between the lower and upper strata and it has to suffer in silence. 
They cannot go about asking for food or standing in long queues as this may embarrass them.Above all, they do not want it be publicized that they need help and they are being helped. 
When our team approached such families, we realised that they were a lot in numbers and had been living hand-to-mouth.Some of them were even from posh resident colonies but they were apprehensive that if they get out and ask for help their photo might appear in newspapers or on social media.
How do you reach them?
Our team members started working as soon as the second wave hit.They provide me with the list of such families whom I reach out on phone and we distribute the ‘Corona Care Kit’ to people. We keep their names away from the public domain as well which I find unethical.
The volunteers identified such families in distress who desperately needed food.There were some families who had nothing to eat for days.
Would you continue helping after the corona crisis is over?
Of course, I find myself fortunate enough to help people in pain. God forbid, if bad time befalls them. However, I shall be available round the clock to help them.
Do you feel the financial pinch when you are out to help at such a scale?
I endeavour to help the needy in whatever capacity I can. I feel money crunch sometimes but then I have friends who always become a part of the mission I undertake.
What message, in these fragile times, would you like to convey to people?
I appeal to all to help those who are fighting for bare minimum. Don’t make fun of the impoverished state of these hapless people by filming or clicking their pictures and uploading them on sites which is utterly humiliating for them. 
They can’t but withdraw their outstretched hands in shame when such elements angle for photo opportunity with such tragedy-torn people they said .
Senior officer, of police department said our officers and men and doing a great job as it is an Excellent gesture by them who are distributing food packets and even ration kits to migrants and auto rickshaw driver who are worstly effected in this lockdown.
We appreciate and thank all the NGOs who are coming forward to feed the needy people and making all efforts to see to it no one should sleep Hungry so our officers and men are joining hands with and in many stations our Police personnel with their own cost are helping the road side people,and street vendors.
Recently Magadi road traffic police inspector Raju along with ACP Traffic West joined hands with NGOs and volunteers and distributed ration kits to needy as middle class and poor people in the area.

Four including two PHC Doctors arrested by Halasurgate police,Fake Covid Negative certificate & Remdesivir Blackmarketing racket busted,11 Vials Seized:

The Central Division police of Halasurguate police have arrested four persons including two doctors of Primary health centre in Chamarajapete for issuing fake Covid negative certificates for Rs 500 and also selling Remdesivir injections in black market 11 Vials Seized from their possession.

The accused has been identified as,Dr.Shekar,Dr.Prajwala,Kishore,and Mohan Y,all working at PHC center Chamarajapete.

Senior officer told media persons,Halasurgate police sub inspector Mallikarjuna received a tip off about fake Covid certificate is being issued in Chamarajapete PHC center if anyone who is need of Covid negative certificate if they pay Rs.500 and submit their Aadhar copy without swab test they are issuing Covid certificate.

Based on credible information from the reliable inputs a special team was formed to trap the doctors and staff a special team was formed by Halasurgate police inspector Deepak who led a decoy.

Satish G,constable posing as patient approached Kishore and handed over Rs 500 and copy of the Aadhar card on Wednesday.

Kishore asked Satish to meet him near Bannappa park few hours later to collect the certificate once kishore Gurumurthy came with certificate the team who was waiting for the signal of constable surrounded him and caught red handed while handing over the certificate.

During Inquiries revealed that Kishore worked as swab collector in Chamarajapete PHC and collusion with Dr.Shekhar B,medical officer of the PHC centre was issuing the certificates to the people who wanted to travel to other states.

Based on his statement we have arrested Dr.Shekar who is issuing fake Covid negative certificate to people.

The accused have issued many certificates to people who were travelling inter state using the certificates which is mandatory .

Meanwhile another team of officials led by Assistant Sub Inspector Shivakumar,caught Mohan Y,red handed while trying to sell Remdesivir vial to the police in guise of prospective customer for a price of Rs 25,000 on SP road on Wednesday.

The accused Mohan told the police that he was sourcing the injections from Dr.Shekar who is already been arrested in connection with issuing fake Covid certificate based on his statement the team grilled Dr.Shekar who told the police that his colleague Dr.Prajwala used to give him vials  working in the same PHC and with the help of Mohan Y staff they used to sell the medicine in black and earn money.

The police recovered 11 vials from the accused who later confessed that they had sold three vials before for a price of Rs 25,000 each.

All the four accused have been booked under Disaster management act,cheating and also under drugs control Act.

Both the doctors are deployed at the PHC by BBMP.While Dr.Shekhar was working in the PHC for the last 10 months,Dr.Prajwala has joined the PHC two weeks ago.

After getting a news of Doctors involved in selling Remdesivir injections vials in black by charging exorbitant price and issuing fake Covid negative certificate the BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has dismissed the doctors for their involvement in manipulating practice and cheating the government.

The police are investigating further to ascertain how the accused were manipulating the records to steal injections from the store and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP Central,MN Anucheth,ACP, Halasurgate Sub-Division,Smt.Nazma Farooq,PI, Deepak,PSI,Mallikarjuna,ASI,Shivakumar, Constable Sathish G and other crime staff who has successfully nabbed two PHC doctors and other two and busted the Blackmarketing sale of Remdesivir and fake Covid negative certificate racket for the exemplary work done by them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.

Bengaluru: Former Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Krishna, popularly known as K R Pete Krishna, died at his Mysuru residence on Friday, sources close to him said.

Krishna (80), suffering from cancer, had undergone treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.

He is survived by wife and a daughter.

The last rites are likely to be performed at his native village Kottamaranahalli in K R Pete taluk of Mandya district on Saturday, sources said.

Krishna had served as Animal Husbandry and Sericulture Minister in S R Bommai cabinet and had represented K R Pete Assembly constituency thrice in 1985, 1994 and 2004 from Janata Party, Janata Dal and JD(S).

He had represented the Mandya Lok Sabha seat in 1996 and served as the Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 2004-08.

Krishna was known as a simple and gentleman-politician.

Expressing condolences, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa remembered Krishna’s popularity among the people starting from his political career as a member of K R Pete Taluk Board, and the way he upheld the parliamentary values as a Speaker.

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, expressing grief, said he is deeply pained by Krishna’s death.

Several Ministers of the State cabinet, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, State Congress chief D K Shivakumar have also expressed condolences, while Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah travelled to Mysuru to pay his last respects.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday announced that the lockdown in the state will be extended till June 7. The ongoing lockdown was supposed to be in force till May 24 and now has been extended for another 14 days.

The CM after meeting his cabinet ministers was speaking to reporters when he made the announcement. He added the guidelines for the extended lockdown will remain the same and there will be no changes in the existing rules.

People will be allowed to buy essential items between 6 am to 10 am.

The CM also announced the state government will provide free treatment for black fungus patients at the government hospitals.
