CD lady writes to police commissioner accusing SIT of protecting Jarkiholi in CD case

April 7, 2021 by Nasheman

Pramesh Jain

The woman in the alleged CD scandal, involving former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, has once again expressed her apprehension about the investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT),this time in a complaint to Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant.

In a signed letter that was emailed to the police commissioner, she alleged that there is a conspiracy to protect the minister, while she is being treated as an accused.

Her lawyer K.N.Jagadeesh said a physical copy of the letter would be handed over to the police commissioner on Monday.

In the letter the woman said that though she has appeared before the court to record her statement, the SIT has been questioning her every day and keeping her under tight security, while the accused was questioned only for three hours so far and moving freely.

Considering this,I have serious doubts over whether I am the victim or accused in the case, she said in the letter.

She stated that though her name is not mentioned in the complaint filed by Jarkiholi with the Sadashivanagar police station, the cops raided her paying guest accommodation and searched the premises to destroy the evidence to make me accused in the case.

The letter goes on to state,In addition to this there is a deliberate attempt to defame me by releasing fictitious and frivolous and fake information.

Her lawyer,Mr.Jagadeesh said that his client has stated only facts, and is being subjected to harassment. The police are harassing her on the pretext of conducting an inquiry.

They are pressuring her so much that she will break down physically and mentally,he said.I have serious doubt on the investigation and demand that the high court should monitor the case.

Incidentally,Jarkiholi who had been issued a summons by the SIT to appear before them for questioning on April 2,cited ill health and did not report to the police. The SIT,on Saturday, issued another summons to him to appear before them on Monday.Meanwhile, the woman was questioned on Friday and Saturday.

In the letter, the woman referenced Chief Minister BS.Yediyurappa’s recent statements on the scandal and said,This has scared me and I am doubting whether there will be a fair Investigation or the SIT is acting under pressure to protect Ramesh Jarkiholi.

She also objected to the appointment of a special public prosecutor in this case without consulting her.Mr.Jagadeesh added,The letter was e-mailed to Mr.Pant and I will visit the commissioner office on Monday to hand over the letter in person.

This is the second instance where the woman accused SIT of biased and siding the accused.

Pramesh Jain

Former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing treatment at the Gokak Taluk hospital in Belagavi. He was taken to the hospital after he developed breathing problem on Sunday night.

Jarkiholi, who is embroiled in a sex scandal, did not appear before the Special Investigation Team probing the case on Friday citing health reasons. He had developed a fever and cough and got himself tested for coronavirus on April. He was advised to be in isolation for a few days.

However, the BJP leader was rushed to the taluk hospital after his condition became worse.

Jarkiholi is in the ICU as he has breathing problem, his oxygen level is low and has low blood pressure. He is also diabetic. He is under observation and we have advised him rest for the next 3-4 days, said Dr Ravindra of the taluk hospital.

Jarkiholi had travelled to Maharashtra’s Mahalakshmi temple in Kolhapur on March 30, even as the SIT probing into the alleged sex scandal was to interrogate him.He had, however, deputed his counsel with a letter saying that he was not well and will appear before the investigating team once he has recovered.

CD lady recorded statement in kidnap case filed by her parents :

The woman on Monday appeared before the special court to give her statement before the magistrate on RT Nagar police station case, where her parents had complained that their daughter was kidnapped by unknown people.

She deposed before the magitrate under section 164 CrPC for over one hour which was conducted under in camera proceeding.

This is the second deposition of the woman in a week after she surfaced.

The SIT had earlier questioned the woman about the RT nagar case, but the woman denied that she was not kidnapped and went to Goa on her own after the video was released .

Soon after the deposit the woman was escorted to undisclosed location.

The woman will not go to SIT for a week as most of the officers were primary contact of Jarkiholi who tested positive. She also scared of appearing before any officers as she may also get Covid.

Earlier Jagadish Kumar, representing the woman said that he handed over the letter written by the woman to the city police commissioner,Kamal Pant and have taken acknowledgement.

She accused SIT in the letter that she is being treated as accused in the entire episode and the same has been forwarded to hight court.

If the commissioner did not take any action the hight court will takes it’s course and the government has to change the PP in the case as they did not contact the victim before appointing and the chief minister openly says that Jarkiholi will get clean chit in the CD case.

Mr.Kumar alleged that Ramesh Jharkiholi covid positive and admission to hospital is to avoid SIT questioning.

Meanwhile high court has issued notice to state government and SIT to submit the investigation report in the Ramesh Jarkiholi CD row and the High court hearing the writ petition filed by father of CD lady has given a interim stay to the CD lady statement which has been recorded under CrPC 164 last week.

In a local news channel Jagadeesh lawyer representing women has said that Surya mukundh Raj was present inside while recording the statement under CrPC 164. But senior officer says no one is allowed when a victim is inside recording statement only magistrate, victim, and a typist can be inside no lawyer can be inside if it is then the statement will not have any gravity as per law.

As during interviewing in a local news channel the lawyer Jagadeesh admited that Surya mukundh Raj was inside to assist the alleged victim a CD lady in the ongoing sleaze CD case based on which woman father approached the High court and got stay to the statement recorded.
