Ramesh Jarkiholi sex tape: Rs 15 crore paid to upload CD; ‘criminal conspiracy’ against him, says brother

March 8, 2021 by Nasheman

He refused to accept that the woman shown in the CD was a ‘job seeker’, and sought a thorough investigation into the episode by a professional agency like the CBI.

BENGALURU: The Jarkiholi brothers and their supporters have been busy doing their own detective work to get to the bottom of CD Gate that shows former water resources minister Ramesh Jarkiholi in a compromising position with a woman.

Arebhavi BJP MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi, who is Ramesh’s brother, on Sunday said, “I have information that around Rs 15 crore was paid to upload the sleazy, doctored videos from foreign destinations, like Russia and Singapore. There is a criminal conspiracy that was hatched against Ramesh.”

He refused to accept that the woman shown in the CD was a ‘job seeker’, and sought a thorough investigation into the episode by a professional agency like the CBI.

He claimed that Dinesh Kalhalli, the complainant in the case, did not have all the facts and could have been misguided. “There are unseen hands involved in this. There were four men behind this conspiracy,” he said but refused to name them.

“How do you explain the release of the CD just when the Assembly elections were declared for West Bengal, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam? Is it not evident that it is an attempt to tarnish the family and the party,” he asked. He said that all the videos have been doctored and are fake. “With technology, anything is possible now.

It has to be sent to an accredited laboratory to find out if it is genuine.” Asked if he suspected any individuals in Bengaluru or Belagavi, he said it has to be investigated. He urged Ramesh to come out and speak and to end his isolation. “How can the media portray her as a job-seeker? Kallahalli’s allegation that Ramesh was sexually exploiting the woman on the pretext of offering her a job at the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited is false,” he added.

On his Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the woman, he said he will consult his lawyers.  After the scandal broke out, Jarikiholi tendered his resignation as water resources minister to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, which was forwarded to Governor Vajubhai Vala, who accepted it immediately. Apprehending a “political conspiracy” being hatched to defame them, six ministers of the Yediyurappa-led cabinet have secured court injunctions restraining the media from airing or publishing any defamatory content against them.

The CM termed his budget a ‘Vikasa Patra’ (development document), on the eve its presentation. The CM’s official Twitter handle said he will present the budget at 12 noon with the hashtag ‘Karnataka development document’.

The CM will hold a meeting of ministers at 11 am in Vidhana Soudha to seek the cabinet’s approval for the budget document. At 12 noon, he will present the budget in the Legislative Assembly. The Budget 2021-22 is expected to be a tightrope walk for Yediyurappa. Following the presentation, Yediyurappa will hold interactions to explain the outlay and the expected outcomes in detail.

Both Houses of the legislature will discuss the budget during the month-long session before passing it for implementation from April 1. Yediyurappa had presented a surplus budget for the 2020-21 fiscal despite a Rs 11,887-crore reduction in Central funds to the state for the 2019-20 fiscal.

The budget is expected to focus more on development works and women’s welfare. The State Government had resorted to heavy borrowings and raised loans to augment resources for development works since November, as more funds were used in fighting the Covid war over the last 10 months.

Terming the CD that purportedly had intimate scenes of the former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi as fake that was created to defame the family and finish off its political career, KMF chairman and his brother Balachandra Jarkiholi on Sunday sought a CBI inquiry into the CD episode since the contents were uploaded in Russia.

Mr.Balachandra Jarkiholi told presspersons that, several people and unknown hands were behind the creation of the CD,which he described as “fake”.

“We now have information that as many as 17 servers were booked in Russia to upload the video on YouTube, three hours prior to Dinesh Kallahalli approaching the police.

Between Rs.10 Crore and Rs.15 Crore has been spent to book the servers to bring disrepute to the family and the BJP,he added.

Further, he said,We also have come to know that the woman in the CD has been promised Rs.50 lakh and a job in Dubai.I also request you not to call her a victim because there is a conspiracy behind this.

While Mr.Balachandra was defending his brother, he also referred the whole event as being a honeytrap.

Asked how this could be a honeytrap when he is calling the CD fake,he maintained that he was referring to two to four teams that were also planning to honeytrap. There is a team working for honeytrap in the State.

“We will approach the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to send the CD to a lab to ascertain its genuineness.

We will also seek investigation by an agency that will help bring out truth,he told presspersons.

When asked why Mr.Ramesh Jarkiholi was not coming forward to complain to the police,Mr. Balachandra Jarkiholi said he was also appealing to his brother either to come forward to complain to the police or authorise someone to pursue the case.

Mr.Balachandra Jarkiholi said,Dinesh Kallahalli could have been misguided and he may not have received full information. He may have been used as well.We will consult an advocate to decide future course of action.

When asked if the Jarkiholis had turned soft towards Mr.Kallahalli or had met him before Sunday,Mr.Balachandra Jarkiholi said that no one met him nor they were going soft. When his views were sought on legal action against Mr.Kallahalli, he said they would take a decision after consulting lawyers.

If it is proved that Ramesh Jarkiholi is wrong I will advise him to apologise to the people and take political retirement. If he has not done anything wrong those behind it (CD and allegations) should be sent to jail.

Dinesh Kallahalli, a social activist on Tuesday lodged a police complaint against Mr Ramesh alleging sexual harassment to a ”job aspirant” and threatening her and family of dire consequences.
