A Traffic police Head constable attached to old airport road station escaped with minor injuries when 26-year-old man tried to mow him down in a bid to escape drunk driving check on HAL main road on Saturday night.

The injured Constable,Mubarak Ali,fell down and sustained injuries on hands an legs and was taken to Manipal hospital for treatment,while the accused driver identified as Anjaneyulu was arrested and his car seized.

The accused resident of Nagarabhavi was returning home from Yemalur after attending a party.

The accused was driving in rash and negligent way,was flag down by Ali and asked for the driving licence and documents for check.

Enraged Anjaneyalu,shouted at Ali stating “do you know who i am,how dare you stop me”. Since it was routine for the policemen,Ali ignored and continue to ask for the documents for which Anjaneyulu,moved the car and knocked Ali down.

Ali fell on the safe side of the road and sustained injuries on his legs and hands.However his colleagues busy on checking other vehicles rushed to his help,and tried to stop the car.

In the melee,Anjaneyalu lost control and rammed the car into the roadside wall before the halt.

The police pinned him down and called the hoysala for backup to take him to the police station.

Ali was taken to the hospital where he is being treated.

Based on the complaint by the traffic police,the HAL police have charged Anjaneyalu for assaulting the government servant while on duty , attempt to murder,mischief causing damage and rash and negligent driving in Public way.

The accused has been arrested and the car seized later he was subjected to medical examination to ascertain whether he was intoxicated for further investigation, a police officer,said .

NCB Bengaluru busted two major drug syndicate in three days and seized 03 kgs of pseudoephedrine at Hyderabad concealed in lehengas destined to Australia and seized commercial quantity of MDMA pills,Methamphetamine,Methaqualone,small quantity of High Grade Ganja at Bengaluru One swift car seized and Apprehend 6 Persons.

Based on specific information a team of officers of NCB,Bengaluru Zonal Unit intercepted a swift car of AP registration at Devanahalli toll,and apprehended four persons and recovered commercial quantity of MDMA pills, Methamphetamin and Methaqualone from their possession of one person who is resident of vishakhapattanam,Amit Ghawate,IRS
Zonal Director,NCB Bengaluru Zonal Unit,said.

According to him,the other 3 persons are from Bihar and Hyderabad.They were going towards Hyderabad from Bengaluru.

In a swift follow up action the premises of supplier was identified and the search resulted in seizure of small quantity of high grade ganja and apprehended one person from the premises, he said.

The syndicate was procuring variety of drugs from supplier based in Bengaluru and sells them to various youths, parties and in pubs in Hyderabad.,He added.

In a similar operation, the NCB team, based on specific information on Thursday,a team of NCB, Hydeabad Sub-zone officials,intercepted a parcel and seized 3 Kgs of Pseudoephedrine concealed in the falls line areas of three lehengas.

The contraband was well concealed and stitched to avoid detection by enforcement agency.The parcel was destined to Australia.

In a swift follow up action the owner of the consignment was identified to be at Chennai and NCB Chennai team apprehended the consignor after 2 days of prolonged field surveillance.

The consignor had used fake address and documents to conceal his identity.

More than 10 grams of MDMA is commercial quantity under NDPS Act. MDMA (Methyl enedioxy methamphetamine) is commonly known as ecstasy and Methamphetamine are very potent and dangerous stimulant drug. It is commonly abused as a party drug. The side effects of the drug are also very dangerous on the human body. Continued usage can lead to heart problems including heart attack, memory lapses, hallucinations, seizures etc.

Mathura [UP]: A rickshaw puller approached the police in this Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday after he was served a notice by the Income Tax (IT) department, asking him to pay over Rs 3 crore.

Pratap Singh, a resident of Amar Colony in the Bakalpur area here, submitted a complaint at the Highway police station, claiming fraud, after he received the notice from the IT department .

Station House Office (SHO) Anuj Kumar said no case was registered on the basis of Singh’s complaint but the police will look into the matter.

Meanwhile, Singh uploaded a video clip on the social media in which he narrated the sequence of events.

He said on March 15, he applied for a PAN card at the Jan Suvidha Kendra in Bakalpur, owned by Tej Prakash Upadhyay, as his bank had asked him to submit it.

Subsequently, he got a coloured photocopy of the PAN card from one Sanjai Singh (mobile no. 9897762706) of Bakalpur.

Since he is illiterate, he could not differentiate between an original PAN card and a coloured photocopy of the same, the rickshaw puller said in the clip.

He had to run from pillar to post for about three months to get his PAN card.

Singh said he got a call from IT officials on October 19 and was served a notice, asking him to pay Rs 3,47,54,896.

He said the officials told him that someone had impersonated him and obtained a GST number on his name for running a business and the turnover of the trader for 2018-19 was Rs 43,44,36,201.

Singh said he was advised by the IT officials to get an FIR lodged as somebody had committed fraud impersonating him.

Pune: A mild tremor was experienced on Sunday in Koyna area in Satara district of Maharashtra, but there is no report of any loss to property and human life, an official release said.

“The epicentre of the earthquake of magnitude 3.9 is 28 km west of Tanali village in the Varana basin. The earthquake (originated at) a depth of 15 km. It was felt in Patan, Karad, Pophali, and Chipalun,” it said.

Mumbai: Sanjay Patil, BJP’s Lok Sabha member from Sangli in Maharashtra, on Sunday quipped that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will not come after him as he is a BJP MP.

He made the remark while speaking at a function in Sangli.

“The ED won’t come after me since I am a BJP MP…We have to take loan in order to purchase luxury cars worth Rs 40 lakh to show off. The ED will be surprised to see the amount of loan we have..,” he said in a lighter vein.

Recently, BJP leader Harshavardhan Patil had quipped that he was getting “sound sleep” in the saffron party as there are “no inquiries”, a remark that came on a day when NCP chief Sharad Pawar alleged the misuse of the central agencies like the CBI, ED, and NCB to target the Opposition.

Harshvardhan Patil, a former MLA from Indapur in the Pune district, had quit the Congress and switched over to the BJP before the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly polls.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies – Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress – have been accusing the BJP-led government at the Centre of misusing the central agencies to target the leaders of the three ruling parties in the state.
