Let Muslims live peacefully, we are all family: BS Yediyurappa on hate inciting incidents in K'taka

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa on Monday reacted to the recent hate inciting incidents across the state and added that such incidents should not take place.

Speaking to the media reporters in the city, Yediyurappa added that nobody should disturb the peace and harmony in the state and Muslims should be allowed to live with honor and peace in the state.

“Some miscreants are trying to disturb peace and harmony in the state. CM Bommai has also warned people to not indulge in such activities, even I want to advise people to stay away from such things. We are all a family, don’t disturb anybody, let Muslims live peacefully.” he said.

Congress has no moral right to protest against price rise.The credit and record for highest price rise in the country goes to Congress,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking to media persons he said,the protest by Congress lacks credibility.Replying to a question on protest by PFI students,he said,a committee headed by the Chief Justice is examining the issue and a decision would be taken after getting a report from the committee.

The Chief Minister in response to a question about Ananth Kumar Hegde’s letter about the support extended by Al Qaeda Chief to Mandya student Muskan said,I have no idea about the letter written by Ananth Kumar Hegde.

I will speak to him and seek information about the issue.I will take appropriate action based on that.”

He denied reports of Sumalatha Ambareesh joining BJP.She had come to invite me to her niece’s wedding.We also discussed some developmental works,Bommai said.

Udupi tour

I am heading to Udupi today to participate in a slew of development programmes.Tomorrow I am scheduled to participate in organisational meetings of the party, Bommai said.

Violence or taking law into the hands will not be tolerated: CM Bommai

Ours is a government formed according to the Constitution.We are working with the spirit of law, order and equality.

There is no problem in spreading one’s thoughts. But the government will not tolerate if one takes law into one’s hands or indulges in violence.This message has been sent very clearly, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking to media persons at the Udupi helipad Bommai said,our government is functioning according to the laws.It is our duty to protect the law.

Replying to a question about Hindu Task Force being formed in Mangaluru against Love Jihad, Bommai said,there are laws to deal with everything.

Some of these laws were passed by the previous governments.We are not formulating any new rules.

Our work should speak

Reacting to opposition’s charge that the Chief Minister has turned dumb for the developments happening in the State, Bommai said,my actions are speaking.We should not speak. Our work should speak.

We know what decisions should be taken and what action to be taken at what time.I need not learn any lessons from them.

These are the people who dropped cases at the government level against those who were facing direct charges of murder.Where was their duty consciousness then?”Bommai asked.

Ours is a peaceful progressive State.We know how to protect this State.We will show it through our deeds,Bommai said.

Replying to a question about Siddaramaiah’s statement,Bommai said,many Hindu youth were killed during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

He withdrew the cases against the outfits which were accused of having a role in them.Had he lost his senses then?Bommai said.

When asked whether he would ban these outfits, Bommai just said,you will see it in the coming days.

Beach Tourism and Temple Tourism will see huge development in the coming days.A representation has been made to the Centre for changes in CRZ regulations for development of tourism in the coastal region.

We have received an appropriate response,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Dr.VS Acharya Bus Station built by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

Priority for comprehensive development of Udupi district

Comprehensive development of Udupi district is a priority objective for the State government. Work has started on construction of 250 bed hospital.

A medical college and hospital under the PPP model would also come up in the coming day. Approval has been given for drinking water and underground drainage projects. Fishing and tourism too would get a boost, Bommai said.

The Chief Minister lauded the honesty of late VS Acharya in public life. He was an ideal for others to show that one can function honestly in public life, Bommai said.

Strict screening and surveillance on travellers from 8 countries witnessing spike in cases

164th TAC Summary:

1.Special surveillance of International passengers.

• The international arrivals from these countries-China,Hong Kong,South Korea, Vietnam,Japan,Thailand,Germany,Italy,Australia, UK shall be subjected to following measures of surveillance.

• At the Airport -Thermal screening and checking of 2 dose/full vaccination certificate.

• At the residence-Daily tele-monitoring for Covid-19 symptoms and testing.

• Genomic surveillance of those who test positive.

  1. Advisory on face masking in public areas.

• It is recommended to wear face mask in public areas particularly in closed spaces,crowds and during close conversations.

  1. Ongoing clinical surveillance at Victoria hospital.

• Clinical surveillance for new symptoms and emergence of new variant is in progress.

  1. Surveillance in animals for Covid-19.

• It is recommended to initiate this in collaboration with Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary biological,Hebbal,Bengaluru.

  1. Ongoing sewage surveillance.

• ICMR in collaboration with BBMP is conducting sewage surveillance for Covid-19 and this shall be correlated with Covid-19 testing results in the corresponding areas.

Please ensure that all your vaccination doses are completed at the earliest,urged Health Minister K Sudhakar after an meeting with the COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee amid a rise in of cases of the XE variant of COVID-19 in some foreign countries.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting Minister Sudhakar stated that there was an increase XE variant COVID-19 cases in 8 different countries including China,Hong Kong,South Korea,UK and Germany.

Additionally,he also stated that there was an increase of XE cases in Delhi and Haryana.

After the meeting Sudhakar said that the TAC has suggested thermal screening,strict surveillance, mandatory quarantine for a period of 7-10 days for passengers arriving from these eight countries.

Govt will soon release guidelines regarding this. Additionally, he urged people to wear masks, stating that IIT Kanpur has predicted another COIVD-19 wave around June and July.

He stressed on the fact that many haven’t completed their second dose.

4.77 crore (98%) of people under the 60+ category have taken the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine and only 49% of people have taken their precautionary dose.

There already is a declined immunity in this age group.I urge everyone to please complete all doses,” Minister Sudhakar said.

“Some have blamed the government for the COVID-19 wave and shortage of vaccine in the past.

Now,there is an adequate supply and we have made several requests to people to take the vaccine.People should take the vaccine and cooperate with the government,he added.

He said that among the 15-17 age group, 25,11,407 people out of 30,00,000 had taken the vaccine amounting to 79% and only 65% had taken the second dose.

Among the 12-14 age group,only 13,96,000 children have received the vaccine out of 20,00,000 amounting to 69%.

He urged parents to have their children vaccinated.As there are no vaccines for young kids,Sudhakar said that 5000 children will be tested across the state as per the recommendation of the TAC.

Price cap must be followed

We have received complaints of some hospitals overcharging for vaccines.The government will not tolerate this.

A high-level meeting has been held and committee has been formed in this regard. The capped prices for CT scans,MRI etc.

Must be considered as the new prices for future and not just for COVID-19.All officers have been given instructions in this regard.

Labs should not charge higher cost than the cap fixed by the government.If this rule is violated, the government has the right to revoke the license of the lab or hospital,he said.

Four including woman injured in freak accident

Four people including a woman injured in a freak accident due to lift cable snapped and they fell from 1st floor within the lift Car in an apartment on avenue road on Monday.

The injured identified as Sridevi 45,sustained multiple fractures,Gopinath,49,Pradeep,30 and Naresh 36,sustained multiple fractures admitted to hosmat hospital .

All injuries are due to sudden and forceful impact of the body, Dr.Ajith Benedict rayan,Medical director,said.

The incident occurred at the Voice of Silver,54,CT Street,Avenue Road on Monday evening.

Sridevi is admitted in ICU as she has multiple fractures while Naresh and Gopinath will undergo emergency surgeries.

All the patients are stable and responding to treatment,Dr.Royan,said reporters

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday called upon the need for ‘Back to Thirthahalli’ campaign by those from Thirthahalli settled in Bengaluru.

Hit and Run case: Speeding goods truck knocked pedestrian,one killed other injured in Chikkajala

In a case of hit and run, a 51-year-old pedestrian was killed and his son escaped with minor injuries when a speeding goods truck knocked them down in Chikkajala on Saturday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Muniraju,a farmer from Bellahalli village .

Senior officers with other staff visited the spot and after taking stock of the situation a officer said that the incident occurred around 8 pm and Muniraju along with his son Bharath were going to medical shop by walk and they were crossing the road at Kogilu Cross.

A speeding goods truck hit Muniraju and Bharath jumped to safety and escaped with minor injuries.

Passers-by chased the vehicle to nab the driver but he managed to escape with the vehicle.

Muniraju was rushed to a private hospital where he wa declared brought dead as he had severe head injuries .

The Chikkajala traffic police conducted spot inspection and found the vehicle number based on the CCTV footage,Efforts are on to nab the driver.

We are not ruling out the possibility of drunk and drive thats the reason the driver escaped , a police officer, said.

People visiting Masjid-e-mamoor in Koramangala on Sunday evening were pleasantly surprised as they saw police officials in Uniform greeted them at the gate and distributing fruits and dates to break fast.

After a long gap of two years the Madiwala sub division police headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police,Sudhir Hegde,started organizing iftar parties at the 19 mosques since last one week.

It is a small gesture from the police department to promote communal harmony and to create awareness among the community members that the police department is with them,a senior police officer,said.

As per the plan the jurisdictional police team including Inspector,Sub Inspector and staff members took part in iftar party and the dinner arranged after namaz.

To take the program to another level,commitee members of the adjacent Ganesha and Sai Baba temples and hindu community members were also invited to join the iftar party.

This area is known for Communal harmony and did not have a single communal tension.

Members of different community are living in peace and harmony and participating in each other festival Rehan Nawab, member of the masjid committee,said reporters.

We are happy the gesture of police officials and a prayer has been organised after namaz for their well being,he said.

Such type of program is meaningful in this situation and we should counter the efforts of some fringe elements to disturb communal harmony,Suhan,a resident of Audugodi,said .

The madiwala sub division police are planing to organize iftar parties in all the 19 mosques coming under the jurisdiction.

We have covered nine mosques so far and 10 more mosques are remaining and will be covered in coming days, the officer in charge of the program,added.

The muslim community members on Sunday attended Rama Navami program organised at a century old srirama temple in Adugodi and distributed panaka, Buttermilk and kosamari to the devotees .

Anchor bank to provide loans for Women’s Self Help Groups: CM Bommai

An anchor bank in the public sector would be linked to provide bank loans for Women’s Self Help Groups.

About 3.9 lakh women would be benefited from the Rs.500 cr programme to provide financial assistance for these self help groups,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking at a programme after participating in the Sri Seetha Rama Kalyanotsavam in Harapanahalli,Bommai said,women should be stakeholders in economic development.

A novel programme to increase the income of women and in turn raising the Gross Domestic Product of the State has been formulated, Bommai said.

Taking government to the people

Our government is functioning with the spirit of delivering governance at the doors of the people, putting an end to the system of people going around for various services.

Revenue documents are being delivered to the doors of the citizens,thus heralding a new revolution in the Revenue department,Bommai said.

All the budget programmes would be implemented in a time bound manner and work orders for the programmes would be issued before the end of April.Implementation of the programmes would start by next month,he said.
