Dismissed lecturer arrested for armed robbery of a elderly home alone woman recovered stolen valuables worth Rs.2.5 Lakhs

The Sanjaynagar police busted a armed robbery case of a elderly home alone woman and arrested a 35-year-old dismissed lecturer who robbed the gold valuables at knife point on last Monday to arrange money for gambling.

The accused Suresh Patil,an MBA graduate and rank holder from Davanagere used to work as lecturer at a private college in Rajajinagar in 2021.

The accused was addicted to vices and cricket gambling and misused the college funds for the betting and lost.

Based on the complaint from the management, Suresh Patil was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

After getting out on bail, Patil,joined another college in Hebbal but the management terminated his services after coming to know about his criminal background.

With no job and gambling addiction Patil hatched plans to commit robberies targeting senior citizens for quick money.

He went around identifying gullible people and kept a watch on the victim living alone.The accused had also stolen a bike from Jalahalli a month ago to use it for the robbery.

As per the plan,he barged into the house wearing a full face helmet armed with knife,assaulted the victim and robbed her gold chain worth Rs.2.5 lakh.

Based on the complaint,a team of police led by Inspector,Guruprasad A,formed a special team and analyzed several CCTV footage and also recovered a finger print from the scene of crime .

The finger print later matched with the accused recorded prints during his earlier case in Rajajinagar.

The accused was arrested and the gold valuables which he had pawned was recovered.With his arrest the police have cracked a robbery case in Sanjaynagar and a bike theft case reported in Jalahalli .

The accused was booked under robbery and attempt to murder and remanded to judicial custody.

Govt ready to set up arbitration centers for speedy disposal of cases: CM Bommai

The State government is ready to establish arbitration centers and provide all facilities for the speedy disposal of cases,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating the 5th,6th &7th floor of Advocates’ Bhavan at City Civil Court premises here on Saturday,he said there are a lot of litigations in the society and the system of justice delivery must change.

Already,Lok Adalats are functioning and cases are solved through arbitration also.

Assistance for digitalisation of Bengaluru Advocates Library

He said he was happy that a big Advocates’ Bhavan had been constructed and named it after ‘Rashtrakavi Kuvempu’.It was good that a separate room has been provided for lady advocates.

Earlier, an advocate having a big library was considered as a big and famous advocate.Now a library in gram panchayat has been digitalised.

The government is ready to extend all the cooperation for the digitalisation of the library of Bengaluru Advocates.

“The role of advocates is very important and there is no delivery of justice without them.There is a lot of difference between laws created by us and moral law.

It is good to tell the truth in moral law but punishment is guaranteed if lied.Both moral law and law created by us must be brought near”.

No ambiguity in law

Bommai said in Nepal there is a peculiar system.In that country there are no courts in hilly areas. Though the people are not literate but still formed their own rules and living.

Despite their being educated,legal problems are plenty. In any law there must not be any ambiguity but a total clarity and the absence of which will create more problems.

The Bar Association of Bengaluru has been working very efficiently.The government will take steps for the filling up of posts of judges soon.

The grants to establish a Lawyers Chamber in Bengaluru will be provided in the State Budget 2023-24.

10 per cent rebate for advocates to buy BDA flats

He called upon the Bar Association of Bengaluru to focus on the grants given towards the insurance of advocates and other welfare activities.

A bill on ‘Legal Protection’ Act will be tabled in the Belagavi session to be held in December and get it approved in both the houses of State Legislature. Besides,a 10 per cent rebate will be given to advocates to buy the BDA flats.

Seeking transfer, Conman impersonate an MLA to KSRTC MD, Gets arrested.

It is common,that the Members of Legislative Assembly calling the KSRTC officers over phone requesting them to consider transfer of staff.

By taking this advantage, on 28.10.2022, a person called the mobile number of the Managing Director, KSRTC and told him `I Nagendra, MLA, Mysore, speaking,Please consider transfer of Mr. Balaraj Driver cum Conductor Badge No. 2658 from Mandya Depot to Malavalli Depot as he has family issues’.

Instructed by the Managing Director,Divisional Controller of Mandya Division called Mysore MLA Mr.Nagendra to get some details and found that the MLA has denied made such call to KSRTC MD.

Immediately he called Balaraj,Driver Cum Conductor and questioned him.Mr Balaraj told one Mr.Puntith,Agasapura,Malavalli,who said to be working at the KSRTC Central office,have helped him in getting transfer through Managing Director.

Divisional Controller conveyed the same to the MD and Director(P&V).When the phone number called by Punith to the MD was cross checked by the Director(P&V) from his mobile too,he found that he too had called and sent request letter to his Whatsapp.

Taking note of the matter,Security and Vigilance Department immediately acted upon and collected preliminary evidence from Manjunatha Karadigudda,KST Constable,Davanagere Division, Gopala Gowda,Driver Cum Conductor Bangalore Central Division and Balaraj,Mandya Depot who have been lied by Mr.Punith that he is a KSRTC employee and he would influence them transfer.

Based on the evidence and Mr Punith for having made calls to the Managing director and Director (P&V),Impersonating in the guise of a public representative,Shivaprakash H B Security and Vigilance Officer,Central Office,Lodged an FIR at the Wison Garden Police Station.Wilson Garden Police have arrested the conman and investigating.

Bike rider killed by KSRTC bus in Rajajinagar driver arrested

A 38-year-old bike rider was killed when a KSRTC bus knocked him down on Dr.Rajkumar road in Rajajinagar in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased Ramesh was returning home when the bus heading to Majestic from Kukke subramanya knocked him down.

Ramesh sustained severe head injuries and rushed to hospital where he succumbed later .

Ramesh friends who were coming in other vehicles had an scuffle with the bus driver and conductor accusing them of rash and negligent driving.

The Rajajinagar traffic police have registered a case against the KSRTC bus driver and seized the bus for further investigation.

Abduction of Delhi based model case ended with happy note as Mock drill for cops

An Abduction case of Delhi based model ended with a happy note but it was a 12 hours nightmare for the city police until they cracked the case .

The victim,who worked in Delhi had come to visit her friend in Subbaianapalya for few days in Banaswadi on a scooter in the wee hours of 4 am.

While riding the scooter she experienced giddiness due to low BP and stopped the bike on roadside and called her friend for help.Her friend a 30-year-old man,working in a private firm rushed to her help and later booked a cab to take her house.

When the cab reached the destination,the friend carried the model into the taxi and they hurried.
Meanwhile,Shekhar, a private firm employee passing-by noticed the entire incident and called 112,police control room mistaking it as abduction and reported the matter.

The message was flashed and the Banaswadi police led by Inspector Santosh Kumar, immediately swung into action and reached the spot.

The police recovered the abandoned scooter and with the help of registration number traced to Shivamoga and sought the help of jurisdictional police .

The police using the registration details reached the house but the house was locked.The police inquired the neighbours and found a mobile number and tried to call, but there was no response.

Meanwhile another team of police,analyzed the CCTV footage to track down the cab which ferried the victim by this time,City police commissioner, Pratap Reddy and DCP Command Centre, Ramarajan and DCP East Division Dr.Bheemashankar S Guled,and Superintendent of Police,CID,MN Anucheth,supervised the entire operation.

Using the mobile tower location,the police zeroed in on the area and started knocking the doors of around 50 houes to check before zeroing in on the victim.

The victim by then recovered and came out to noticing the police presence and said that her scooter is missing.The registration number given by the woman matched with the scooter seized by the police.

A detailed questioning with the woman concluded that it was a genuine mistake by a concerned citizen.

We thanks the complainant for his concern and the entire excercise turned out to be a mock drill and team effort,Dr.Bheemashankar S Guled told reporters.

Kamakshipalya police bust honey-trap gang,arrests 10 member gang among two women for honey trapping Jamedar of court

The Kamakshipalya police on Saturday arrested a gang of ten including two women for honey trapping a 55-year-old Jamedar of a court .

Senior officer told reporters,the kingpin of the gang identified as Siddesh,native of Davanagere is a Rowdy-Sheeter having around four criminal cases pending against him and his associates including
Anuradha, 25,Guna,23,Chethan,19,Ravikumar,25, Prashanth Kumar,19,Karthik Kumar,22,Uma Shankar,24,Suryaraj Urs,24 and Vidya,35.

The accused would identify the gullible people and set the women to honey trap the victim.Using the modus operandi,Anuradha was sent to the victim, Jayaram,who was working as Jamedar in high court two years ago on the pretext of seeking details about a case.

The duo spoke to each other few times before Anuradha sought a financial help from Jayaram six months ago for an emergency work and returned the amount promptly .

On October 25,she again approached him asking for Rs.5,000 and called him five days later to her house to return the amount.

As soon as Jayaram went to collect the money, the accused invited him inside the house and forced upon herself on him.

While Jayaram trying to escape from her,Siddesh and his team waiting for this moment,barged into the house assaulted him and videographed the duo to blackmail.

Jayaram when tried to resist the duo assaulted him snatched Rs.5,000 and demanding ransom of Rs.2 lakh threatening that a complaint of attempt to rape would be filed against him if he failed to pay.

When Jayaram refused to pay the accused had even called his wife and informed her accusing him of attempt to rape the woman.

Unable to bear the harassment,Jayaram approached the police and filed a complaint,based on which the police track down the gang and arrested them.

The police suspect that the accused had
blackmailed and extorted money from many people and probing further to ascertain their possible involvement in similar offences.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy,has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil, DCP West,Laxman B Nimbargi,ACP, P Ravi,PI,Lohith BN,PSI,as,Hanumantharaju B,and crime staff as,Doreswamy,Vasanth Kumar,Kiran,Panduranaga,Yellapa,Smt.Koushalya, Ms.Alamma and other crime staff has been appreciated for the meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing all the 10 member gang including two women who has tried to honey trap court Jamadar and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.

Notorious Habitual Nigerian Drug Peddler arrested by Anti-Narcotics Wing Squad seized 230 grams of MDMA Crystals worth Rs.20 lakhs

The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the CCB arrested a habitual Nigerian National and recovered 230 grams of MDMA crystals worth Rs.20 lakh from him.

The accused was caught red handed while he was waiting to deliver the drugs to his clients on Hennur main road .

Senior officer told reporters the accused had come to city three years ago on business visa and overstayed even after his travel documents expired.

Using his contact the accused started sourcing MDMA and selling it to his clients for a Rs.8,000 to 10,000 per gram.

The accused was arrested by KG Halli police in a similar case in September last year.After coming out on bail he continue to peddle drugs,a police officer, said.

The police have seized two phones from the accused and analyzing the call record details to ascertain his contacts.

A case under NDPS Act and Foreigners Act has been registered under the accused and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy, has appreciated Joint CP Crime,Raman Gupta,DCP Crime-1,Dr SD Sharanappa ACP,Smt.Reena Suvarna,PI,Ashok and his whole team who has done a commendable job in nabbing the notorious Habitual Nigerian Drug Peddler and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.

One more man seriously injured in pothole accident in Bengaluru;Bike rider condition in critical

Sandeep, working in a film distribution firm slipped into coma after he fell from bike sustained injuries while negotiating a pothole at gangamma circle on November 1.

Sandeep was returning home from a nearby ground on his bike.

He sustained a severe head Injury and was taken to HMT hospital from there taken to manipal hospital in hebbal where he is undergoing surgery.

His wife sold all the valuables to arrange fund to save her husband.It was their love marriage.

Meanwhile amid rising accidents caused allegedly due to bad roads in the city, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) administrator Rakesh Singh conducted an online meeting with all zonal officials regarding the pothole-filling work in the city on Saturday.

A senior BBMP official present at the meeting,Mr. Singh directed BBMP Road Department officials to fill the potholes by November 15 and send a report on the same.

The BBMP administrator conducted the online meeting with officials and saw the progress so far. The officials from respective zones showed videos and photos of the work conducted so far and explained the quality of the work.”

This comes after the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday directed the Chief Engineer,National Highways Authority of India (NHAI),Karnataka division,to inspect the works of pothole filling, road repair and resurfacing of the roads carried out by the BBMP in various parts of the city.

If doctors and staff in govt hospitals misbehave with people,they will be terminated from service.I will speak to Chief Minister in this regard and if need be we will bring necessary amendments to laws in the next session of the assembly,said Health and Medical education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar.

Speaking about the death of pregnant woman and two newborns in Tumakuru District Hospital minister Dr.K.Sudhakar said the girl who has now lost her mother has been admitted to orphanage home.

A fixed deposit of Rs.5Lakh has been made in the girl’s name from the government.Govt will also take care of her education.

District surgeon,doctors and other staff who are found to be responsible for this have been issued showcase notice and have been asked to respond within 24 hours.

Incidents like these must never repeat again.In cases of emergency, hospitals should not insist on documents.Documents can be collected after the attending the emergency.

There are about 76 notified emergency services and instructions are already in place to not deny or delay treatment in such cases.

In case treatment is not available in government hospitals people can avail it in private hospitals also and govt will bear the cost.

Ongoing cricket betting busted bookie held by CCB police seized 1.05 lakhs cash and mobile

The Special Enquiry Wing of the Central Crime Branch arrested a bookie running online cricket betting for India Bangladesh T-20 match on Thursday.

Based on a tip off,a team rushed to AS Char street and arrested the bookie waiting for the punters to deliver the cash .

The police have seized cash Rs.1.05 lakh from him .

The police also recovered a mobile phone and analyzing the call record details to ascertain his possible links with the other cricket betting ring.
