January 21, 2022 by Nasheman

Parmesh S Jain

The proposed Employment Policy of the state would be beneficial to the youth and employment aspirants of the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking at a function to launch online distribution of scholarships for students from families of construction workers being implemented by Karnataka State Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Bommai said the state government’s Employment Policy would improve the life of the youth.

The working class at the lower strata would benefit from the incentives. The scholarship scheme would enable children from construction workers’ families to get a good education, get employment in various sectors and contribute to the economic development of the state, Bommai said.

It is the working class which is driving the economy of the country. God resides in the sweat of farmers and the working class, Bommai said quoting poet Ravindranath Tagore.

It is important to create awareness about work ethics in the society. If the people of a country are prosperous the country would be prosperous.

State’s economy would grow if the working class is empowered economically. Helping the children of construction workers to get a good education is a noble work, Bommai said.

CCB to probe drug case involving constables of CM’s security team : Kamal Pant

January 21, 2022 by Nasheman

Parmesh S Jain

The case of the two constables who were arrested on January 13 for selling drugs has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for a detailed probe.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant took strong exception to the way the inspector of RT. Nagar and his junior handled the case.

He suspended them before initiating an inquiry against the duo while directing the CCB to conduct a detailed investigation into the case.

There are a lot of loopholes in the investigation by Inspector Ashwath Gowda to dilute the case. Though the seized amount of the drug was commercial quantity, the investigating officer booked the two constables under ‘consumer’ to help them get out on bail.

Moreover, the accused investigating officer Veerabhadra Swamy and Ashwath Gowda did not seek custody of the accused for questioning though it was an important case and needed in-depth investigation to ascertain their criminal background,”a senior police officer said .

The accused, Head Constable Shivakumar and Constable Santosh, were absent from duty for a long time. But,their seniors did not notice their absence, which amounts to a serious lapse.

This is one of the reasons why the DCP (VVIP security), in charge of security at the CM’s personal residence at RT. Nagar, has been issued a show cause notice, sources said .

Even the Southeast division DCP has also been issued a show cause notice for failing to check the background of the (arrested) policemen before deploying them in the security team of the CM.

The CCB is probing the criminal links of the accused constables and negligence on the part of their seniors.

Two policemen were arrested on January 13 for allegedly selling drugs while on security duty near the residence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on 80 feet road at R.T. Nagar. Police had said Head Constable Shivakumar and Constable Santosh, attached to Koramangala police station, were caught red-handed by a Hoysala patrol team with two peddlers.

Police had said that the two constables had 400 grams of marijuana in their possession at the time of their arrest.

Sources says the contraband was seized from Koramangala after taking the peddlers to their Koramangala house and recovered 10kgs of Ganja from their possession but the inspector, Ashwath Gowda and sub inspector, Veerbhadra Swamy diluted the FIR which helped the accused constable get bail in just 5 days.

As the detailed information is not mentioned in the FIR says senior counsel to media that it is a clear picture that the inspector has helped the accused to get bail as he has not mentioned the content they seized and details of the accused also not mentioned in the FIR and they booked them as consumer of drugs and diluted the case he added.

It is also alleged that before deploying the constable and head constable to CM’s security team police inspector,Ravi Kumar of Koramangala police station opposed their deployment and sent a detailed report to DCP Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi stating the constable and head constable are involved in Criminal activities and anti social activities but the DCP dint take the note seriously and posted them to CM’s security team as high level source in the department said.

Bulli Bai app case: Mumbai cops arrest MBA graduate in Odisha
Neeraj Singh

Mumbai: The cyber police of the Mumbai crime branch on Thursday arrested a 28-year-old man from Odisha in connection with the case of Bulli Bai app, which targeted Muslim women by putting up their images online for “auction”, an official said.

The accused, identified as Neeraj Singh, is an MBA degree holder. He was involved in the planning of the app with the main accused, he said.

“His role came to light during the interrogation of the accused who were arrested earlier, following which a team of the cyber police station was sent to Odisha and he was placed under arrest,” the official said.

Singh is being brought to Mumbai and will be produced in a court here, he said.

With his arrest, the Mumbai police have so far arrested four persons in the case. Earlier, Shweta Singh (18) and Mayank Rawal (21) were arrested from Uttarakhand, while engineering student Vishal Kumar Jha (21) was held from Bengaluru.

Neeraj Bishnoi, one of the alleged main conspirators in the Bulli Bai app case, had been arrested by Delhi police from Assam.

The Mumbai police had registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified persons following complaints that doctored photographs of hundreds of Muslim women were uploaded for auction’ on the app called `Bulli Bai’, hosted on the open-source software platform GitHub.

While there was no actual `auction’ or `sale’, the purpose of the app seemed to be to humiliate and intimidate the targeted women, many of whom are active social media users.

Gorakhpur Sadar is the seat from where the BJP has fielded UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Taking forward the ideology of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshiram sahib for ‘Bahujan Hitaay – Bahujan Sukhaay’, the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) announced Chandra Shekhar Aazad as candidate from Gorakhpur Sadar (322) seat, the party said in a statement on social media.

Aazad was until recently in talks with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party for a tie-up to contest the polls but was offered only two seats by it.

Feeling thus shortchanged, Aazad had on Tuesday said his party would no longer approach the SP for alliance as it was a matter of self respect , but added he was open to finding new allies for the polls.

The flamboyant leader has often said his fight is against the ideology of the BJP and the RSS.

New Delhi: The Indian Army has sought assistance of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to locate missing boy Miram Taron on their side and return him as per established protocol, sources in defence establishment said on Thursday.

Arunachal Pradesh’s MP Tapir Gao said on Wednesday that PLA on Tuesday abducted a 17-year-old boy from inside the Indian territory in state’s Upper Siang district.

Sources in defence establishment said on Thursday that when the Indian Army received the information about Taron, it immediately contacted the PLA through established mechanism of hotline informing that an individual, who was collecting herbs and hunting, has lost his way and cannot be found.

Assistance from PLA has been sought to locate the individual on their side and return him as per established protocol, sources noted.

Gao said on Wednesday that the incident took place near the place where Tsangpo river enters India in Arunachal Pradesh. Tsangpo is called as Siang in Arunachal Pradesh and Brahmaputra in Assam.

The MP also said that he has informed Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik about the incident and requested him to take necessary action in this regard.

In September 2020, the PLA had abducted five youths from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district and released them after about a week.

The latest incident came at a time when the Indian Army continues to be engaged in a stand-off with PLA in eastern Ladakh since April 2020.

There have been 14 round of military-level talks between India and China to resolve the standoff. However, disengagement process is yet to be done in areas of Hot Springs, Depsang bulge and Demchok in eastern Ladakh.

Each side currently has around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. India shares a 3,400 km-long LAC with China from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.
